Kylo had a major scene with Han in TFA. As for Leia, I’m giving them a pass because no one expected Carrie Fisher to pass away and they made plans for IX to be her focus like TFA was for Han and TLJ was for Luke.
The OOT would make the perfect Criterion release. That way the plebs can have their version and we can have the historically important set. I would buy it for full MSRP on release.
I wonder how much training the Jedi did was basic life skills: piloting, navigation and math, languages, diplomacy and then focusing on not so much being able to do Force stuff but having the maturity to do so.
Rebels had little kids who had Force potential doing little things like the kid at the end of TLJ. So its not out of the question. As for Luke, I’m sure Owen did his best to squash anything like that in Luke or any indication he was special in that way out of fear.
While I really enjoyed it, I think it can be off putting to have 2 subplots going on on top of the main plot. Some of the character arcs, story details and themes tend to get lost in the intercutting. Everything felt a bit more cohesive on a second viewing.
I think each of the Disney era Star Wars movies needs a second viewing. The first time, you are almost overwhelmed trying to absorb everything. The second time you can relax.
We haven’t heard mention of Wedge Antilles either. I’d like to see Wedge come back and help recruit new pilots or something.
They apparently offered Lawson a part in TFA - undoubtedly as one of the Resistance officers. He turned it down because he thought the part wasn’t big enough, which I find odd considering the size of his roles in the OT.
I heard Wedge was going to have the role that Lor San Tekka eventually had. Wedge would have had the piece of the map and it would have been really cool to see him pass it on the the next generation X-Wing pilot. Also he had a connection to Luke we saw on screen.
Lawson said it would have “bored him” to return. I guess he might regret being a part of a 2 billion box office picture, it would have led to exposure and possibly more job offers.
Rey has the books, she has her experiences and she will have to forge her own path, be a Jedi in her own way. The old order is dead, the Sith are dead, there is only the Force.
It will take until the deal is signed and finished and however long the restoration take and if Kennedy will finally make a statement on the Theatrical Cuts. It’s going to take something like that to get more than the UPFs to shell out more money.
Now what to do about AOTC and ROTS? No real 4K restoration is possible.
The Disney Trilogy would be so much better if Po was killed off in the opening scenes of TFA as they originally planned.
Poe is a great character so I disagree. However I didn’t call myself SAVEPOE so you probably feel stronger about it than I do.
I actually think we could have done without Poe in TFA. But I feel like his character finally makes sense now in TLJ.
He’s very much Leia’s heir. She picked him out and was training him to take her place as a leader. She trusted him with the important mission to Lor San Tekka and he led the Resistance Starfighter corps. Now that Carrie is gone, we need someone to take over her leadership role, and this carries over the themes of the trilogy.
It seems like the Bring Back Legends fucktards were trying to crash the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. If they really want to do something, how about buying those Legends books I see clogging up every used bookstore?

I loved Luke in the movie. He was a man, not a legend and I think people wanted to see Super Saiyan Luke and were disappointed, even though he did that kick ass projection trick.
I just got back and throughly enjoyed the movie. I will have to go see it again to really digest it, like I did for TFA and Rogue One.

Are there any hardcore PT-first fans at Lucasfilm anymore. I can really only think of Filoni- and he’s more into Ahsoka and Rex and his other Clone Wars pet characters. It seems they pay basic lip service to the Prequels, but the ST is defiantly the main focus, with OT a little behind.
I think a lot of the 35mm preservations here tend to over-correct the grain thing, though. I don’t necessarily want a blu-ray to recreate the experience of watching a print in a theater; I think home video ought to be mastered for, y’know, the home, and on home systems excessive grain tends to look like noise. The more recent of the Goodfellas transfers strikes a good balance, I think. It’s got enough grain to be able to tell instantly that it was sourced from film without hitting you over the head with it.
I just got the Warner Archive Superman The Movie: Extended TV Cut and it has a better color timing than the original blu-ray release. They found an interpositive in the archive and were able to do a remaster. Now all they need to do is find and release the original 2 hour cut of Superman IV.

I like the Ewoks. Except for Wicket hitting himself in the face, the comedy was mostly in their non battle scenes. I also really like the two Ewok TV movies and would love a blu-ray release of them.
