Spoken like a true follower of the left. I guess we're not much different after all. We both respond in much the same way that our own party's do.

Instead of actually responding to my cynicism, you post pictures. Well, at least we know you're smart enough to insert pics into posts.

From what I read so far, it's a damn good essay. Unfortunately, there's a high chance you'll have lost them at the end of the first paragraph. If not there, then part way through the second paragraph. Most people just don't know what a "properly restored" movie is, so they'll probably ding you on that. I know it's explained a little later on in the paper, but it's probably still pretty esoteric to anyone that's not in the movie making field. Other than that, it looks great.

I'm much more supportive when I don't hear people thinking that everything is a government conspiracy. Most people are just not that important to the government that the government cares what they're thinking or doing. If you're not a high level VIP that's featured on the nightly news, chances are the government isn't out to get you.

Blu-ray Disc or HD-DVD?

(You know, the one with the secret menu to disable macrovision and region coding.) That thing started at a then-ultra cheap price of about $169, and by Christmas, it was a door-buster selling for just $69. I bet a year from now we'll be seeing the same thing happen in the Blu-ray market.

Exactly. Thank you.

And don't forget what happened when DVD+R vs DVD-R burners were on the market. $300 for the drives. Then the combo +/- drives came out and the prices plummeted. A year after the $200 +/- drive came out, drives were less than $100 and now they can be had for $30.

Make no mistake, now that people have one format to buy, manufacturers can focus on that one format and getting the prices down. As prices drop, people will buy them more and with no other formats there won't be any uncertainty about which format to get.

Standard dvd's look amazing on my friend's 60" sony lcd (being played on a bose dvd player with 5.1 in case you were wondering). Heck, even on my other friend's zenith lcd over coaxial they look frickin' amazing!

SD DVDs, compared to hi-def content, don't look that great to me either and I have a 50" 1080i HDTV. You don't have to be a super uber videophile to notice the difference. 1080i or p material just looks a lot better than 480i material. I personally don't have a huge problem watching my SD DVDs on a 50" TV though. I would rather watch hi-def discs and it looks like that day is finally getting closer.

Good movie.

I was just contemplating if I should try to get Blade Runner in HD-DVD, because it might be cheaper now, and easier to rip. My wife and I are planning to buy a Hi-Def TV in the next few months, and I'd rather have a dedicated server for Hi-Def video than buy a player.

[EDIT] LOL, just checked Amazon. The HD-DVD version is a few bucks more. Go figure.

Wouldn't you be better of with the Blu-ray version at this point? It shouldn't be any more difficult to rip as long as you have a Blu-ray drive for your computer.

Most of us being the 18 year olds with barely over minimum wage jobs? You're not in the majority sean. Almost any technology isn't meant to be affordable to anyone under the age of 25. That's the approximate age that most people start their careers at and start earning a decent living. The average schmoe making $10-$15 per hour is of course going find HD expensive. Anyone that has an actual career making a bit more money ($20-$40 per hour) will find HD well within their budget though.

OMG. Now I officially think you're a loon. At least two of those websites have got to be a joke. Terri Schiavo was a victim of Gang Stalking? Are you kidding me?! She was a victim of an abusive husband, nothing more. Tinfoil hats? Yep, that's right, they amplify radio signals. But some people vouch for them as having stopped the voices. How the hell can that be? And don't forget the episode of Mythbusters where they found a bunch of stuff on the Internet to do mind control and NONE of it worked.

LOONEY!!!!

That's not quite fair. I am only giving these links so that people can take a look at some of the posted ideas about this subject. I did not write the info in the web pages linked, or advocate every idea put forth in them. All I did was provide links so that people can get an idea of what is being said about "Gang Stalking”. I for one have NEVER had electronic or Electromagnetic Harassment attacks done to me, or personally know of anyone who has. It's just important for people to see as much info as they can of what is being put forth on the internet, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Don't throw out the baby with the bathwater. Every subject has fanatics attached to it, including this one. People need to have information of all types to form an opinion. Is anyone who is part of a religion that uses the Bible and or Old Testament a loony? Some people would say there is some far fetched accounts referenced in that text.

Funny how a few links discredits my personal story and mental competency. And, you attack as soon as you see something that you do not find credible in a document that has nothing to do with my personnel account. That says a lot to me about your lack of understanding and character.

"LOONEY" FF http://www.geocities.com/gurukenn/icon-face.gif

I would not consider someone that reads and understands the Bible a looney. Those who don't understand the text need to sit down and really read it, not just give it a "quick read through". In order to understand anything that has deeper meaning and lots of symbolism, you have to actually slow down and think about what you're reading.

Linking to sites that talk about mind control and other fanatical subjects does not help your case. If you want to help your case, gather evidence other than "it's a conspiracy!". Document all the attacks. Write down the time, date, and place that they happened. Get video recordings if you can and don't try to hide that you're recording it. The more evidence that you have to backup your claim, the less crazy you will look.

I get that there will be lunatics and fanatics for everything. You should do yourself a favor and not provide links to their sites, especially if it would hurt your case. It'll only make you look like one of them.

The police aren't going to be able to ignore a log of times and dates along with a description of what happened. Including pictures of the assailants will only help your case in the long run. Until then, some people will just see it as the ramblings of some person out on the Internet that's trying to become famous.

Make no mistake. I think it's very possible that "Gang stalking" could be taking place, but you only posted one incident. It wasn't until later that you said it had been happening a lot. Do yourself a favor and document every incident.

And I'm sorry, but I still can't believe it's the "New World Order". Yeah, it might be some organized group, but to say it comes from high levels of government is true paranoia if I've ever seen it.

People have been saying there's a New World Order a foot for over 15 years (I read/heard about the same thing when I was a senior in high school). After doing a lot of research on the subject, I've found that it's nothing more than paranoid delusions by people who think their privacy rights are now somehow gone. Newsflash, if you do something outside your home, you have no privacy.

Not really. FF explained that they're very political and have been involved in many political movements. These were all out in California. They then moved to Florida and somehow, people 3000 miles apart that probably didn't even know each other, started stalking them. I'm sorry, but I find it really hard to believe that it's related. I also don't think it has anything to do with a government conspiracy. I think the more likely explanation, that you put forth, is that it's just a bunch of teenagers or other people with a lot of spare time pulling a prank.

Since the story seems like it was a one time incident, I'd hardly consider it stalking.

Here's a tip for you. The next time it happens and the cop acts like a jerk, get his badge number, then file a complaint with the police department. Sure, it's only one complaint and it may not do any good, but if you keep doing it and keep getting badge numbers, eventually someone's going to notice that something's fishy. It probably wouldn't hurt to start recording any other actual events. Just don't hide the camera. If they realize they're being recorded, they're more likely to stop. If you hide the camera, then other people that see what's happening might just think you're some kind of weirdo.

That's pretty cold sean. If you don't like his politics, that's fine by me, but wishing that someone be a POW is uncalled for.

Second, that's nice spin sean. Here's the actual quote:

Q: President Bush has talked about our staying in Iraq for 50 years -- " (cut off by McCain)

McCain: "Make it a hundred."

Q: "Is that ..." (cut off)

McCain: "We've been in South Korea ... we've been in Japan for 60 years. We've been in South Korea 50 years or so. That would be fine with me. As long as Americans ..."

Q: [tries to say something]

McCain: "As long as Americans are not being injured or harmed or wounded or killed. That's fine with me, I hope that would be fine with you, if we maintain a presence in a very volatile part of the world where Al Queada is training and equipping and recruiting and motivating people every single day.

Notice what he said about Japan and Korea. We've had troopes in South Korea for 50 years. The Korean War never ended, we've just been in a stalemate for that long. If we needed troops in Iraq for a "stalemate" for 100 years, with no one fighting or dying on either side, I think most Americans would not only be ok with that, but they wouldn't even notice. Have you noticed the troops in South Korea that have been there for that long? I know about them, but you never hear about it on the news because it isn't news.

Uh, it looks more like a case of paranoia than anything else. What reason would these people have to "stalk" you? Do they know you? Do they know anything about you? I just can't believe that random people would be stalking other random people for no apparent reason.

I might sit there staring at someone filming with a video camera too, wondering what the hell they're filming. Especially when they hide the camera everytime someone gets to close. That wasn't in the video you linked to, but it was an additional video from that one.

This just seems like some serious paranoia to me. Nothing wrong with being paranoid, but it looks a little extreme right here. "Why are they watching me? What is the purpose?" Um, maybe it's nothing and you should just ignore it.

Sounds more like a joke. Or did you just find it here http://enjoyingthejourney.blogspot.com/2007/07/what-is-organized-gang-stalking.html

About halfway down in the comments section is a story that's almost exactly the same, just with some minor changes. This might be more believable if the dates and times weren't exactly the same. Or is that post from you as well?

They also have CoD 4, DoD, and CSS servers.

I used to love to go into Hastings and search through the vast amounts of old movies on VHS that only cost $0.99 to rent. Seemed there was hardly a movie they did not have, since everyone has gone all out DVD there are a lot of movies that are impossible to find, most rental stores don't carry older and more obscure films even if they are on DVD, and even if you get lucky enough to find it on DVD it is going to cost you more than a buck to rent it. The days of renting old and obscure films for a buck have ended. Hell, the days of renting any movie for a buck aren't looking so good, I know of a few places but they not only suffer from a crappy selection, but their discs are so scratched up you're lucky if you get to watch the whole thing from beginning to end without having to skip a large section due to a scratch.

So yes, I am one of those who complained about the death of the VHS. Those of us who are suckers for boring old movies are left with little else to turn to than our DVRs, and the late night TV listings.

Doesn't Netflix have a pretty sizeable library? And if you rented the maximum number of DVDs per month, I'm sure the cost would be under a dollar per movie. I don't know if they have any of the old classics, but I've always heard that if you can't find it elsewhere, Netflix probably has it.

I would eat somewhere else, just like I'm doing now. The only network tv programs we watch are the news. As much as I miss Heros, 24, and Smallville, they aren't really that important to me.

Unions can, and have, done the same thing. Remember the Grocery workers strike from a few years ago? The only ones that came out better with that deal were the older employees, new employees got screwed.

And what you're forgetting is that if a company does decide to screw its employees however they want, pretty soon word will get out that it's a shitty place to work for. People will quit and go work elsewhere or start up new companies to compete with the existing one. Eventually, the company will go out of business. I've seen this happen first hand and it's not pretty when you're working for the shithole company. Thankfully, I got out and got a different job before they went completely under and then didn't give the "loyal employees" their severance pay. Companies like that just simply don't last long.
