The Vaultbreakers Collection - Disney Preservations
Time
I believe ADM did a version of Aladdin and Doctor M did Little Mermaid - versions that utilise the new DVDs but fix up the changed audio and changed video respectively. I know transfers of the original versions as they appeared on home video might be better for purists... but I'd really try and track down an LD player or someone willing to capture LD stuff for you.

A long time ago I posted here on the forums about the Lion King LD set. This is the preservation I'd be most interested in. There are supplemental materials on the LDs that have not been released on DVD, you see. The "Making of" for example. Some legal trouble prevented them from including it on the Platinum/Masterpiece Edition. Plus, a lot of the Disney LDs (IIRC) have the subtle teaser poster images for their covers. I know Lion King doesn't, but it has a cool packaging design regardless.

The Keep - Satellite Rip (Released)
Time

Hello everyone. First, I’m sorry for not posting in the original Keep thread but I felt this should be separate anyway.

Now, I recently put together a DVD for a friend of mine (for xmas) which contained a number of “The Keep” related stuff:

  • The Comic
  • Some archived webpages
  • Several different versions/boots of the score
  • Youtube-sourced FLVs of the alternate ending and the trailer
  • Crappy DIVX version

The centrepiece, however, was the widescreen LD rip by MrBridger (that was the focus of the other thread). I made the stupid mistake of deleting it once burning and checking it myself. Turns out the thing stutters (sound-wise) on his player. It was probably my tinkering with cropping off the Barbarella trailer and adding menus that caused problems. I wish I’d left the MrBridger DVD on my hard drive and could burn that simply as it was. Ah well. (though if anyone has it and doesn’t mind sending me a copy here in Australia…)

Anyway, my point is that while I was searching I never did find decent quality versions of the alternate ending/s or the theatrical trailer. I’m after these as such. More than that though, I’m after the satellite rip that was posted on the eDonkey network. I have never been able to get that to work for me and when I tried the different links I was unable to get it to connect and download. The reason I wanted the satellite rip is because it appears to have much richer color than the LD print while being synched to the LD audio. I could burn my friend the MrBridger DVD with the SatRip + the alternate ending/s and trailer on another disc.

I’ve since seen the film and I too would enjoy the more pleasing image of this version. So, I ask, is there anyone who has or can obtain the satellite rip? There is some info on it here. <span class=“Bold”>NOTE:</span> Mods, I can understand if you’d like me to remove this link. I did try to find a page that wasn’t like a direct link to a torrent or what have you.

P.S. Thinking about it… depending on the quality and other factors, perhaps we could use that color histogram filter Paul’s using for his vintage Star Wars edits and make the more detailed LD rip have the same color as the satellite rip? I don’t know… we need the satellite rip to be uploaded to Rapidshare or the like first.

Star Wars Prequels/Original Trilogy: The Complete Scores (Released)
Time
If I remember correctly GM, you said you were compiling all your knowledge about the Star Wars scores. If that's the case, then man, I can't wait until you have some sort of site or printable PDF book. It'd be great to know all the different details about alternate cues, different recordings, mixings, John Williams' intentions, etc. I wish we'd see something like the Lord of the Rings Complete Recorings, with the annotated booklets. Though I know that'll never happen... one can dream though.

I too held off on grabbing most of your soundtracks with the hope that it wouldn't be long before you'd reupped them all done via your new method. Please tell me you're still planning on doing that? I've got a premium Rapidshare account now so if you used that I'd grab em all as fast as I could.

DarthBo, I have that set as well. I thought I had a track list for it - but I don't appear to, sorry.

Help: looking for... Die Hard - Wal Mart Bonus Disc? - for an edit...
Time
So, it sounds like you're compiling the extras from the standard DVD 2-disc set that weren't included on the blu-ray boxset. I have the standard DVD boxset and I'd like to get my hands on this "Die Hard 4.1" disc too. I believe the forum came to an agreement that sharing these Walmart exclusive discs was okay. In which case, I'd hope that if you find it, you spread the love to the rest of us.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 <strong>REVISITED</strong> ADYWAN *<em>1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION</em>
Time
Adywan, I'm not suggesting any changes to your video. However, I just wanted to point out since you utilised that awesome planet explosion from Stargate SG-1 in your effects work... well, you may want to watch 4x11 of Atlantis. There's another cool explosion... ROTJ Death Star perhaps? (Just kidding - but do watch the ep, it's a good one)

I was unable to find the template. I did find the logo though (BabyHum's version). I suppose if I had screens/video of the menus (or the menus ripped as VOBs?) I could reconstruct them. Email me at klokwerk[at]gmail(dot)com - My PMs are unreliable and I couldn't post in this thread for a little while (some strange coding error).

BANNED BOND: The Criterion Collection on DVD (Released)
Time
Just wanted to check in on the status of the Thunderball project. Still really looking forward to it.

Also, I found mention of a "A Life of Q" television documentary on Desmond Llewelyn. There was a torrent (long-since dead) which was a VHS-Rip. It seems like this was only on TV and/or VHS. Apparently it aired around the time of his death. Does anyone have this and/or know if its available on DVD at all commercially?

//Star Wars Begins\\: HD Version Now on Vimeo
Time
Yeah, it's sitting at my girlfriend's house at the moment, I couldn't take it the other day as I had to head straight to work. However, I'm just doing a first flick through checking out all the pictures and inserts and I'm somewhere around ESB. It's a great thing to see all this Star Wars paraphernalia that was around before I was born / when I was a kid (I was a 1987 baby).

I do hope there's some stuff worth using in there. Have fun reading/looking at it.
