SW fonts
Time
Well, while we're talking fonts...

I know these have been clarified before, but I'd like it done here in this thread - for good. In the prequel style logos - the ones that have "EPISODE III" above, and then the title "REVENGE OF THE SITH" below - what 2 fonts are used? I have the fanmade font that has one typeface for the capitals, and the other one for the lowercase - but what are the names of the actual fonts? I believed them to be Albertus MT & Trajan - is this correct?

Thanks! I hope you can find the others too.

Just on the fonts - I believe it was Albertus MT and Trajan (was it?). There was a fan font that mixed the two. ANyway, I have one of the 2 fonts used, and am still trying to track down Albertus MT.

And finally, with the recreations - which SW font do you use? As in the one used for the famous "Star Wars" as seen before the crawls. I know there are many: Star Vader, New Hope, Star Jedi, etc. I use Star Jedi, is this what you use?

ChainsawAsh, thank you! Please let me know once you've sent them. If you've got a similar ESB logo, then by all means send it, but don't worry if you don't. The 3 prequel ones are the must-haves. And when you referred to the "N" in yours... do you mean yours have that "curvy" N? And the fact that your AOTC was based on the was-to-be official one, is even better.

Hey there,

I am creating a few custom cover things for a few people - and I'd like it if you would share your logos with me - I've tried recreating them myself, but they aleays look crappy. The logos I'm referring to are the 6 pictured in this image:

If anyone else has similar logos like this, and is reading these, feel free to share them too. I am basically wanting the logos for the prequels in this style and the ANH logo in this style. Last time I checked these where the only ones I saw around here, but if you have some HQ logos like these, please share them. I'd very much appreciate it.

STAR WARS: Symphony for a Saga
Time
Wow! This is great! What a cool idea. I can understand that there's less material to work with (and less memorable material) for the prequels - it would be great to hear a revised version once 2CD complete scores appear for all 3 prequels. I'm hoping we see them next year or in 2007 for the 30th anniversary. But anyway, this is a really well-edited piece of work- the OT disc that is.

The YSI links for the PT disc have all expired, you probably know that, but I was just wondering if there was any other way of obtaining those tracks. Has someone torrented this, or is there another repository, maybe? I'd really like to see how well you've managed them.

Great work!

New Star Wars DVD's on the way...
Time
But that message does say that there won't be any further changes before the next release. Look, once III's come out on DVD in November, of course a 6-pack set is inevitable, but it will purely be the DVDs currently available packaged into another box. It would only be of any value to anyone who has not yet bought the 2004 trilogy set and the 2 existing prequel DVDs.

I am a bit surprised to hear that there won't be a 2007 Hi-Def re-release. I expect that's due to the fact that the movies have been released on DVD - and that's that. If a HD set is to happen, looks like Lucas will wait for the next-generation of discs - whether that be Blu-Ray or HD-DVD. Surely, then we will see a re-re-re-re-re-re-release - and it will no doubt include further changes, high definition, more special features, etc, etc. By this point we should also see some modifications to the prequels and perhaps even TPM's puppet yoda replaced with the digital model from episode II. That's not wishful thinking, as there was a "warm up" for episode III which involved replacing puppet yoda.

Also; Greencapt - I completely agree with your theory! Home theater (as long as the screen is fairly big, and the sound system's good) is the best way to go!

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)
Time
Sorry for making another post - but wanting this to be seperate from my other one.

On the note of the music in the nightclub;
I know of two alternate sources of music that you could use. One is an artist that transforms ordinary songs into swing/lounge music - his name eludes me at the moment. However, there is the "Sketches on Star Wars" CD that I am listening to right now. It's jazzy/swing renditions of 10 cues of music from the Star Wars saga (IV-VI). The tracklist is as so:

01. Star Wars (Main Title)
02. Yoda's Theme (ESB)
03. Princess Leia's Theme (ANH)
04. Ewok Celebration (ROTJ)
05. Imperial March (ESB)
06. Han Solo and the Princess (ESB)
07. Jabba the Blues ("Han Solo at the Court of Jabba the Hutt" from ROTJ)
08. Luke and Leia (ROTJ)
09. Cantina Band (ANH)
10. May the Force Be With You (ESB)

What I was thinking was, you could use the jazz rendition of the Cantina Band song - I'm pretty sure it fits what kind of music you're looking for. You may want to slow it down just a tad, so it's not so lively, but I think it could work. Plus, it would tie in with the Originals, without repeating music per se. What do you think?

I'm not sure if anybody would've heard of this CD, but I can provide WAV files if needed - would just need filespace access - or I could split-rar it for you and email each piece over the course of a few days.

Episode II: Shroud of the Dark Side (the TM edit) (Released)
Time
Trooperman,

I just wanted to say congrats on choosing that title. Whether it's "Shroud of the Dark Side" or "Shadow of the Dark Side" - either will be cool. I prefer the former. Anybody else who attempts an edit of Episode II after this will be hard-pressed to surpass yours I think, or at least come up with a cool title.

Also, I am really looking forward to this edit and was wondering if I could create a DVD cover for you? I have some SW DVD templates and would like to muck around in Photoshop for a bit. Please send me the most important details, if you could, via PM, as that would be easier than re-reading this entire thread - and also prevent any errors.

Thanks & Keep up the good work!

My sentiments exactly Darth Chaltab! However, a lot of fan edits exist as a "series". For example MagFan's set. In order to complete it he may feel obliged to do a fan-edit of Episode III. But, from what I've seen/heard/read I believe that III will be the best of the prequels, the darkest SW film and will (I hope) NOT need fan-edits. But, if they are to be done, I'll be curious as to how people go about different things that were already changed in their edits of ep I & II.

Just in regards to the EpIII lightning question; (SPOILERS AHEAD!!)

I don't think it'd be possible. The Yoda/Sidious fight in ROTS is extensive enough that it might be hard to edit out the lightning. However, it may only appear at the beginning of the fight, like Yoda/Dooku in AOTC. Then it would be much easier to remove. I'm quite curious to see how people will approach ROTS when the fan-edits begin for that film.
