Changes in 2004 DVDs
Time
Lucas has actually stated that the Special Editions were only experimental versions. To see if the movies with effects would sell well and they did. He never stoped working on the original three Star Wars movies. He marketed the 1997 versions as definitive just for marketing. In 2007 we are getting Ultimate Versions. The statement above is from Ben Burtt. That he is working on remixing the audio. Thats all we know of but it is almost certain the 2004 DVDs will not be exactly like the 1997 versions.

Changes in 2004 DVDs
Time
Its official that the 2004 DVDs will not be the original versions. They will also not be the final Ultimate Editions. But there is much talk about them having some additional changes to the 1997 Special Editions. Lucasfilm has put changes in just about all of its previous DVDs.

The Phantom Menace - 3 minutes of new effects footage cut into the movie
Attack of the Clones - added 30 seconds of extra footage to Anakin and Padme dialog.
Indiana Jones Trilogy - 14 production equitment removeal changes
American Graffetti - Digitally enhanced sky

Today we got first word on what changes there will be from Lucasfilm. Heres the text from the digital bits below.

I spoke with Ben Burtt recently. He mentioned the upcoming Star Wars DVDs. It seems that they were able to go back and digitize all of the original tracks and rebuild the show from scratch. For the previous Theatrical Special Editions they were only able to go back and re-mix and edit from the pre-mixes which were sonically limited by the analogue recording and reproduction systems of the time. Since Ben was responsible for archiving all of the sound on A New Hope, all of the sounds were able to be found except for a couple of foley tracks which I'm assuming will be re-done. So it seems that we will be hearing Star Wars in a way we've never heard it before. He did not mention if Empire and Jedi would be receiving the same treatment.

There is a rumor that the Han and Greedo scene will be restored as well but there is no word from Lucasfilm on that change.

Whats your dream DVD?
Time
I know this is off topic and I apologize for this but Sweyland the ewoks fucking suck. They made Jar Jar look like Indiana Jones. They were horrible. I never saw any of the ewok movies and never want to.

On topic another dream DVD would be a better DVD of the Harry Pottor movies. I hate those games they sucked. I hated the first DVD making you have to play the games to watch the deleted scenes. If it wasn't for those scenes I would throw away the second disc. The second DVD faired alot better in both picture and extras but still was flawed in many areas.

Spaceballs was funny but I would hardly call it a movie. Its really a spoof of science fiction and a pretty good one. From what I hear the Star Wars Holiday special isn't funny just lame musical. While I don't find anything appealing about music numbers the Holiday special does have deleted scenes for A New Hope and the Boba Fett cartoon. I think it would be great if he could put that cartoon as an extra on the Clone Wars cartoon DVD. There would be more then enough bit room considering all 20 shorts come out to around one hour. Those deleted scenes should also be on the trilogy DVD set later this year.

It's official! the 2004 OT DVD release will be the Special Editions :(
Time
That true. Since HD-DVD will hold 4.5 hours of High Defintion picture and 7.1 sound. It would be possible to include both originals and special editions on the same disc for that format. Using extended branching you would have to double encode every scene the Special Edition changes which would come to a 3.5 hours of movie. Thats to long for an SD-DVD to hold and still keep optimum DVD picture. It probably won't look any better then the remastered laserdiscs. An HD-DVD would be able to hold that much information and keep full HD resolution. Still it would be impossible for even an HD-DVD to hold all three versions and still keep full HD resolution.

No where. George Lucas hates this film. Hes hated it since the beginning. He never released it on video and never allowed it to air again. He said he would burn every copy of that abomination if he could. From what I hear everyone who saw it hates it but I still wish I could see it. I never saw it and it is Star Wars so I would like to see. It also has a cartoon with Boba Fetts first appearence in the Star Wars universe.

Actually thats one of the biggest reasons I liked Terminator 1 much more then Terminator 2. I believe in the circular time theroy. It makes much more sense then messing the past. There is no way to alter events. A neverending loop is how I imagine Time travel works. You can't change to past. Destiny is the will of God and no time machine can change that. It has to happen because it already did. This principle is used in several Sci fi movies. Animorphs, Gargoyles, Timeline, and Kate and Leopold. Though the Terminator does it best. I personally think its more logical and probable then any past changing idea.

Here it is Attack of the Clones is an amazing movie. All aspects effects, acting, story, effects, action are all perfect. The acting first of all was way overly critized. Hadyn was just fine as Anakin. Many people see his childish behavior as bad acting it is not. It is an important part of Anakins transformation to evil. How such behavior can lead to evil. Natalie Portman was wonderful. Both looks and acting. First of all she is gorgous, hot, sexy, and beautiful. She also acted very well as the girl torn between love and duty. The story works great as well. The story on how a Republic can become an empire over security concerns was great. It has all the same dark aspects that made The Empire Strikes Back so good. It has mystery, suspense, just a great story. By the way I thought having Jar Jar give Palpatine the power was awsome. It was unexpected and gave Jar Jar a purpose in the saga. The effects are fantastic. I thought giving The Two Towers the best effects award was a crime. So much of the movie is photoreal computer animation that it is practically an animated movie with live action elements. The action is the best element of the movie. The end action sequence has everything a Star Wars action sequence can have. Clones, droids, Jedi, monsters, tanks, ships, and a hottie all fighting at once in a huge explosion of action. Its so intense so epic and seeing Yoda fight was the coolest ever. After growing up with this character having so much power and never showing and want to see his power now seeing him kicking ass was awsome. Attack of the Clones was great. No its perfect. Best movie ever in my opinion.

and Klye knew John in the future right?
well how is that possible unless Klye came back before the movie and inpregnated Sarah Connor?

i dont know if im totally lost on this or not but i saw the movie a couple days ago and was a bit confused!

Thats how time travel works. The Terminator and Kyle were always there in 1984. There was never any timeline without him. I hate you calling this a screw up. This is a great story idea that I loved about the movie for then anything else. The time in the Terminator movies is the same timeline that happened before Kyle went through time. Notice in Terminator 3 everything happens exactly as Kyle said it would.
