I think the midichlorians were a great idea. I prefer everything to be explained. The Phantom Menace had flaws but it had some great action, effects, and a good introduction to the story.

I personally would never pay anyone so much as a penny to view a website. Most of the material is spoilers for Episode 3 which I don't want to know. I know Episode 3 will definutly rock. I would like to see the DVD trailer and the Clone Wars but I can wait for the Clone Wars DVD rather then paying for a website.

DVDs will be available similarly to how VHS was even though better technology is out there.

I don't really see any reason to buy HD-DVD. My TV isn't digital, and my movies already look excellent.

Thats true SD-DVDs will still be avaible for probably a decade after HD-DVD is released. The difference between DVD and VHS is 3 times as high on an analog telvision 4x as good on a digital television and 8x as good progressive. HD-DVD has 6x the pixal disc resolution as SD-DVDs. I swear once you look at a D-VHS on a good digital television there is no going back. So if your amazed by how much better DVDs look then VHS on a regular television then you will be blown away by HD-DVD. Some say that certain players upconvert SD-DVDs to HD resolution makes HD-DVD worthless. This is not true. A true 1080p HD-DVD will look 3.5 times as good as an SD-DVD upconverted to 1080p. HD-DVD players will allow such conversion on SD-DVDs. Since HD-DVD players will be backwards compatible with SD-DVDs it will be a long time before your current collection is useless. Still the radical huge difference in picture and sound over SD-DVD will make HD-DVD a great early buy.

I will always remember The Girl Next Door
Time
Fox Home Entertainment has officially announced The Girl Next Door which stars Elisha Cuthbert as a former porn star that moves next door to a lusting teenager. Yeah, like that's ever going to happen! The film will be available in seperate rated and unrated editions from the 24th August this year, priced at $27.98 a piece. As for technical specs, you can expect both discs to carry 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen presentations and Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. The only extras on the rated edition will include an audio commentary by director Luke Greenfield and a Trivia Track. The unrated edition will carry both of these, in addition to the following features: a Scene Specific Commentary by Emile Hirsch, a Scene Specific Commentary by Elisha Cuthbert, The Eli XXXperience Featurette, "A Look Next Door" Making of Featurette, Gag Reel, 16 Sexy Deleted or Extended Scenes, including original ending with an optional Director's Commentary, Stills Gallery, Girl Next Door Trailer "Dirrty" too racey to show on TV, Upcoming Theatrical Trailers and one easter egg. You can also expect the unrated disc to be 'packed with steamy added scenes'. I'm afraid we don't have the artwork yet, but we hope to bring you that shortly. Stay tuned.

I am glad to see Fox is giving this teen classic the great DVD treatment in deserves. The unrated disc will be a first day buy on my list. How about you

What, Jimbo, you don't want to support George Lucas's latest artistic undertaking?
Just giving you a hard time, Jimbo. As I said before, your viewpoint is a necessary counter-voice on these boards.

A season three of Clone Wars? I haven't even seen the whole of season two. I was watching them online, since I always managed to miss them on Cartoon Network, but after they finished the last episode, Lucasfilm thought they had to make the episodes a Hyperspace-only thing. Money-grubbing buggers.

I was also pissed off when Clone Wars left the free website. He would still make money if an Episode 3 ticket was included since I will probably see it in the theater more then once. Still I will be happy see more Clone Wars.

Following the immense success of the first 20 chapters of the animated Star Wars: Clone Wars micro-series, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Cartoon Network will continue the saga with five new expanded chapters beginning March 21, 2005.

Once again helmed by Genndy Tartakovsky, Star Wars: Clone Wars continues where Chapter 20 left off, but in a new format. Whereas previous installments were just three minutes long, each new chapter will be 12 minutes, promising viewers four times the excitement, adventures and intrigue as they lead into the long-awaited finale to the saga, Star Wars: Episode III.

Five 12 minute chapters. I can deal with that. I like this idea. I prefer longer episodes to multiple short ones. I am sure they will fit plenty of Episode 3 promotion with these. I hope they do a free Episode 3 ticket in Clone Wars DVD.

Nope. Read a story about it in Entertainment Weekly and Cuaron and Steve Kloves (screenwriter) butched it beforehand. There is very little actual cut footage. They made the edits before shooting and shot only what was absolutely necessary. So the DVD is gonna be pretty sparse on extra footage. Fine by me.

Not fine by me. This movie needs an extended edition bad. Really bad

It would be like saying Jesus was the Christ not because of faith but because he has the right number of chromosomal alleles to be the Christ. Takes the faith factor right out of the equation.

It makes sense really. It explains why some people are more powerful with the force then others and why droids can't use the force.

He's denying the original versions their place in time and existence. He's trying to make it as if they never existed. He's trying to pretend that the Special Editions have always been around. If it were up to him, all the original versions would probably be destroyed and the Special Editions would be the only versions anybody's allowed to see.

He refuses to let the original versions have the treatment they deserve by only releasing the Special Editions. They really need to be released, so that in the future, film fans can see the original versions the way they were made. If they can only watch the Special Editions, they'll think that this was how Star Wars originally came out, that this was the original version. Without the originals, future generations will never be able to see how great, classic and (most importantly) extremely influential movies like Star Wars were created without the ease of CGI and modern day digital technology.

These movies need to be made available in their original versions, if only just for historical purposes.

Whether you agree or disagree with the changes is irrelevent. An artist has the right to edit and replace his work. I kinda think it would be OK if Lucas released the originals for those who want em but if he doesn't want to I accept. I don't agree with every change either but that his directers vision.

And Samatar's right, Tolkien made the reader fully aware that he made changes, while Lucas just wants us to think that he intended the Special Editions all along.

Lucas did pretty much intend the Special Editions all along. Many of the Special Edition changes were originally attempted for the original version. Not all but most. Me I can symbothize. I have wrote many fan fics and read them over latter wishing I had done something different. Lucas feels the same way. So did Tolkien. Both are story tellers trying to write a great story.

I want Chris back. He seems to understand that a movie needs to be a certain length to give the book some respect. Not only was it short but progression of seasons was done horrendously (third year has no sunny days), some events were out of order (the firebolt), It was peaced together messy. Probably the fact that the third book was better made the movie equal to the second. I am sure if Chris Columbus had directed this it would have been so much better.
