A nice way of subverting cliche.
I got a good laugh out of that one.

i agree that the man edits certain things to prove his point but im not sure if very much of that is done in this film...
i mean most of the film is of actual news coverage or television footage...
i would love someone to post a REAL list of things which were taken out of context in the movie...
at least we could then decide for ourselves if he goes overboard with it or not...
Most is his point of view. But there are scatered lies in the movie.

scenes where everyone is shooting at everyone else, but nobody gets shot. (happened in just about every episode of the A-team)
humans meet an alien culture for the first time. Aliens have never seen a human before and yet can speak perfect english.
when history is altared, yet the hero still remembesr the events as they originally were, so he can go back in time and put history back to the way it was.(happend all the time in Star Trek.)
when someone decides they want to go back in time to change the past, yet if they were successful in changing history, they wouldn't remember the original past so they would have no reason go back in time to change the original history to the perfered history and therefore the original history would be reinstated thereby creating a paradox
(perfect example is the Terminator. If the terminator killed Sarah Connor, John Connor would not exist and therefore the supercomputer would have no nowledge of John Connor and therefor would have no reason to send a termator back in time to kill Sarah Conner, and so John Conner would exist to defeat the terminators in future, thereby creating a paradox)
when a woman is able beat up a man who is multiple times her size, weight and strength.
when there is a misunderstanding between a romantic couple that could be resolved in seconds but the person who thinks she knows what happened won't shut up long enough to listen to person who knows what really happen and so, it takes the length of the movie to resolve the misunderstanding. (this happend in just about every Fred Astair/ Ginger Rogers movie)
when the good guy decides to take on the bad guy by himself when it might be wiser to call the cops.
when the bad guys take hostages and threaten to kill them if anyone tries to interfere with them, the hero stilll interferes, and even though the bad guys have the perfect opportunity to kill the hostages, they don't
1. I believe I already mentioned this one but yeah its a bad one
2. Lilo and Stitch
3. Back to the Future
4. Technically in the Terminator universe the future cannot be changed. Fate. This one is not a cliche
5. Johnny Bravo
6. So many chick flicks. Why I can't stand chick flicks
7. Definutly
8. Countless Super hero cartoons

There we go! That's your answer to your own concern right there.....you only read RECENT comics & watch the cartoons...I assume you mean the 2 recent Spiderman cartoon series?
There have been many, many interpretations of Spiderman in comics over his 40 year history. Many reinventions & many restarts of the Spiderman mythos. These contradict each other & change characters/villains motives along the way. I don't think it's really that fair of you to say that Doc Ock was wrong in the movie because it's not like the version you know when there have been upteenth variations of the character that you haven't had prior knowledge of to draw a comparison. Had your knowledge of the various interpretations been less limited then you would be in a better position to argue your case.
It's kinda like watching the 1960's Batman television series & then moaning that Tim Burtons 1989 movie completely changed all your favourite characters & totally messed it up
See what I'm getting at?
I suppose you are correct in many ways. Still I prefered him as a more evil character.

If you were a fan of Bowling for Columbine... you will enjoy this one just as much!
Many people say that moore is guilty of lying and manipulating interviews and this and that... however... he brings up SO MANY points in this movie that theres no possible way that everyone of them is a lie..... It's just impossible...
some sure... most could happen... but all.... impossible...
so there has to be some truth to what moore is saying...
When you see iraq soldiers telling the camera that they think the war is wrong and that they would rather be imprisoned than go back there... or even hearing a letter from a dead soldier who says Bush is a idiot for sending them there in the first place... and hopes he is not re-elected.... its pretty powerful...
Even if your not about the whole Moore theory... (ie. jimbo) give the movie a chance... i guarentee that you would at least appreciate it for the entertainment value the movie holds...
I would go into further details about some of my fave parts but i dont want to spoil it yet for those who havent seen it....
believe me when i say the movie is hilarious!!!
True very few points are lies. But the point is one lie ruins the whole credibility of his arguement.

In comparison to Vader, Grievous is more sinister and creepy.
In my humble opinion, they're heading in the wrong direction with this whole Grievous thing. Not only is this stealing away Count Dooku screentime and story relevance, it also seems to be an attempt to 'wuss down' the character of Darth Vader. What do you guys think of this?
I disagree. Since Grevious is mostly droid he is a reflection of Anakins future. Also if hes anything in the movie like he was in the cartoon he will kick all ass. He fights amazingly. Always moving so fast and awsome. Me and George both love speed and Grevious delivers. While I remain spoiler free from all non-spoiler information about him suggests he will be a great villian. Still Darth Vader is my second favorite villian of all time and I doubt Grevious will be cooler then him. But he might.

and please jimbo since you are such an intelligent person when it comes to things like this... give us some arguments against it...
as you said in your post...Quote
there are just as many arguements against it.
so go ahead and indulge us with your ideas... i cant wait to hear them...
and as for Lucas not caring... thats fine... i dont give a shit what he thinks either..
the guy has ruined the only movie for which he is known...
i think thats punishment enough for him...
as to Stale Elvis, WELCOME TO THE BOARDS MAN!
Glad to have you here!
i totally agree with everything your saying...
what im kinda curious about is if the people who did work which was not shown in the SE are still given credit in the credits...
get me??
i've gotta check up on both the OT and SE credits and see if anyone is missing..
Alright the main arguement against it is that the original versions are work prints. Lucas could release five or six versions to show how the movie evolved or just show the final version. As for the original work being replaced its not the first time that happened in movies. You ever hear of deleted scenes. Often an actor or character will make an appearance in deleted scenes and then be deleted. How is this different. Its something that happens with just about all movies. Plus very few of the Special Edition changes actually erases original effects. For example in Hoth snow battle deleting the matte lines around the ships isn't destroying the original work. Those were never meant to be shown. Also the rings around the ships didn't cover up any of the exsisting work on the explosion just added to it. The most of the so called replacing is effects that are just bad. For example replacing those model dewbacks was great because frankly I didn't even know the original dewbacks were suppose to be creatures. Or replacing the white bloob ships with detailed digital models.
