Apparently it was stated that for the DVD release he wanted to finish all the deleted scenes the same way as the Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones DVD. With production of Revenge of the Sith he had no time to do that this release. So we will get deleted scenes in the DVDs for the Ultimate Edition HD-DVD.

But won't there be any deleted scene on the special features dvd?

No there won't. Read the list of extras. Definutly no deleted scenes.

What are the chances of Lucas acknowledging THESE ever existed?

I am sure he will show alot of the original footage in the documentary. He will probably go through them and explain why he did them. Or at least all the major ones. Plus an extra line or shot doesn't make it a deleted scene. No whole scenes were lost in the Special Edition making.

This quote "You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy" is from Ben Kenobi (he say that to Luke when they look at Mos Eisley from the edge of a cliff) and when Ben and Luke finally enter the cantina, the "scum and villainy" are all aliens (and ugly ones!). Isn't this a little racist from our beloved Jedi Master?

(by the way, it's my first post here!)

Hey Al Sharpton visits these forums. Come on dude racist. This is Star Wars. Tatoinne is a place where all the criminals of the galaxy hide in a place of no law.

i mean hell Lucas wont even give us a choice on what version to buy yet hes giving consumers a choice on what aspect to buy?

i figured he would just release the sets in widescreen and say "if you want SW you buy them the way i ask you to!"
lol

It was Fox who forced the pan scan on Lucas. Lucas is anti pan scan.

Alien versus Predator is a moving briming with good ideas and bad excecution. Spoilers ahead. For example showing the beginning of the Weyland corperation. It missed a huge opertunity it had to explain why Wayland is so obsesed with finding the creature in the Alien Quadrilogy. I would have loved if it had done a momment like in the first Terminator finding the chip in the lab. Also the Predator without his mask didn't look right. In the Predator movies the predators mandibles appear like part of the jaw until the predator makes noise. Hear the mandibles still out of its face to a very unatural level. A minor complaint but considering how all the other creature effects in the movie were excellent its a shame. As all reviews pointed out the characters are flat. Not one has a single momment I would consider memerable. These people mostly excist as fodder for the Aliens and Predators to kill. I might be able to forgive all these flaws if it gave some nice gore. The PG-13 rating hurts this movie bad. Classic scenes like the chestbursting, Predator ripping out the skulls and skinning them, Aliens thruster there penis like tounges into peoples heads, all are absent in Alien versus Predator. If an R rated cut in givin for the DVD I might considering buying it for the fun of seeing these creatures fight.

Alien versus Predator plot holes

1. Acid blood that burns through metal barely makes a mark on the girls check

2. How could she hold the Aliens dead body without any acid blood causing you pain

3. It would take alot longer then that for the chestburster to come out

4. Considering how cold Antartica is its strange that the girl (Can't remember names) isn't bothered by it at the end considering how little she is wearing.

6. With all the Predators technology they couldn't find Acid proff shackels for the Alien Queen.

7. If the Predators have been visiting Earth for that long wouldn't there technology have improved greatly.

Could you flesh out the details on that, along with sources? You say it so matter-of-factly.

Someone who claims he has seen the 2004 edition of The Empire Strikes Back said that. I am not sure he is telling the truth but I hope he is.

But if they were going to repalce him, replace him with something good, not an elephant-man or a lizard-man (which subbed for him in his other shot). For those of you who have "The Art of Star Wars," remember in the Cantina sketches that jellyfish/ribbonesque alien? That sort of thing would have been a perfect subsitute, not another goofy mask.

Agreed

My opinion of the series

Alien - Sucessful creepy, suspense, thriller. This started it all in a good way - B+

Aliens - One of the best scifi action flicks ever. Great acting, great effects, great characters, just an all around great movie. James Camerons masterpeice - A

Predator - Great scifi military thriller. A very suspenseful and fun movie - A-

Predator 2 - Very underrated movie. A very action packed movie. Almost as good as the first - B+

Alien 3 - A failed attempt to go back to the first movies feel. Everything in the end falls flat - C-

Alien Resurection - Filled with plot holes and horrible acting. Still it has a couple good moments - C

Alien versus Predator - Seeing these creatures fight is fun. Its brought down by terrible acting, large plot holes, and its PG-13 rating - C+

Not true. Blu-Ray was never proposed to the forum. Thats my one of my biggest problem with the format. If it was proposed to the forum and failed I wouldn't mind Sony trying what they are doing. The fact that it was never proposed pisses me off.

I doubt we will get the wolfman back. This is just blaten false advertising. I would like digital altering to all the cantina aliens. I honestly would rate them as real as anything you can find in Halloween USA. There lips don't move and there eyes don't blink.

Thing about Alien versus Predator is that this movie has been planned since 1990. The movie isn't terrible but after 14 years of so many scripts you really think they could do better then that. I do like the idea of having Predators set up an Alien hunt with humans in the middle. Lets face it if they took the story concept and put it in the hands of James Cameron or any compitant filmmaker they could have had great results. As it is we have a below average movie thats enjoyable sometimes.

Review of this movie

Alien verus Predator is not as big a disaster as many critices say. It has its moments. Seeing the Alien and the Predator fight is cool. For those of you who don't like digital animation will be happy to know that they appear to do it live action whenever they can. The digital aliens also look excellent. Top notch effects. Any fan of the franchises will be entairtained seeing them fight. Still the movie is more flawed then good. By far my biggest complaint is its PG-13 rating. The mostly bloodless action leaves much to be desered. I am hoping for an R rated directers cut for the DVD. The movie was filmed as an R rated picture before getting cut by the dick ass studio. Im not saying an R rating would have made this a great movie but it definutly would have helped. Alien versus Predator is completly deviode of any suspense or any moments of fear. Characters are lame. Acting is lame. Even the great Bishop faulters. It also has many massive plot holes. Overall I do like Alien versus Predator more then the second two Alien movies. Still it isn't fit to clean the shoes of James Camerons masterpeice Aliens.

You are a very frustrating individuel. Its like you only read what you want to hear. I just said I did the test and it is soft matted. I didn't hear it from anyone I tested it myself.
