I also heard somewhere on Kaishenzu (is that spelt right Molly?) that a Scandinavian company (Future Film?) released all the DBZ movies using Toei's Dragon Box masters. I hear they may (or may not) have the Japanese stereo surround in addition to the Swedish audio, along with 1-9 using the Big Green track pitch and speed corrected to the DB source. They may be field blended NTSC-PAL conversions, but some sources say they are in pure NTSC format and are region 0. I need to know if that's true because if so, we could technically have cheaper Dragon Boxes with proper transfers and maybe the original Japanese stereo, but a worse English dub than Funi's and hardly any extras.

where on there did you hear that?

can any of you be remotely serious on here i asked a legitimate question please give me a real answer

The negative is 35mm. The 70mm print was a blow-up.

This isn't to say that the 70mm has no value! 6-track surround sound; often sharper than 35mm release prints because of less generational loss; low-fade for later prints like BttF; etc.

Regardless, there's no way in hell we'll ever get our hands on a 70mm print of BttF short of a miracle, so there's really no point in discussing this further.

Since i really don't much about this can you please explain why? Also has anyone seen it in 70mm?

I gotta agree, I don't think it matters what it is. Whether some garbage, Luke's hand, some gadget or whatever, I think it's there just to highlight the dangerous situation Luke's in as he hangs for dear life above a bottomless abyss of clouds, which marks this as his lowest point in the entire saga.

Wouldn't that be when he underestimated  the powers of the emperor. Yoda warned him after all. Also the whole beginning of jedi was all leia's fault she didn't let han pay off his debt to jabba man how selfish was she.

No...Luke had his hand cut off and had just been told that his father was Darth Vader. That in conjuncture with Han being in Carbonite marks this as the lowest point in the saga. Not only that the  film just ends....no resolution no spark of happiness like in the ending STAR WARS and Return of The Jedi...nothing but bleakness with the tinniest speck of hope.

Makes you want to watch ROTJ immediately afterward though.

True but the point i was making was the fact that luke the hero didn't even beat the emperor. The redeemed anakin skywalker did. So him getting beat by the emperor might better almost a lower point if you get what i mean.

Well, I have good news. Still trying to get all the details but some of us might have found a 35mm print of BTTF to rent and have scanned. I'm posting this here to see if there is enough interest and money (more importantly money) to get this scanned. Probably all in it would be $900, maybe more, maybe less. So its not cheap but frankly its a very rare opportunity.

If anyone thinks the can donate please let me know

(AMPS guys can view the post over there too)

Would be happy to donate. The blu Ray is an abomination

 That's great bagerstuta!

I know a lot of people don't have the money but just giving $10 or $20 would go a long way to help.

I hope you find a bttf 2 35mm print as well.

If that's the case when do think that would come out?

October 2015 would be a smart move, but I haven't heard anything about this.

I know about the upcoming release coming out in october. i meant a 4k mastered no dnr and no edge enhacement release. from what i heard this release is a repackaging of the 25th anniversary transfers so boo to universal home entertainment.
