The current scan for BTTF is almost certainly 2K (or maybe 1080p).

Thankfully the arrival of Ultra HD Blu-ray means that film studios have an incentive to re-scan their catalog titles in 4K so they can put it out on the new format.

Some companies have even begun to re-release titles on regular ol’ Blu-ray with new 4K transfers. Doubt that’ll happen with BTTF, though.

really that really sucks.

Back on topic...

Adywan, 005, etc. there was some talk a while ago about Ady not wanting to release ESB:R until after TFA, has this been confirmed? Is your decision final?

I mean, if it's not done by December, no problem, but if it is, why hold it? Genuinely curious if that's the case, nothing more. I'm planning on doing an OT marathon the weekend before TFA opens and would be really great to have both ANH and ESB Revisited available for it.

TFA comes out close to Christmas. Around the time of the release is, and always has been, my stopping point for doing any work on revisited. I have to plan in advance what can be achieved and completed before this time frame. Especially when building sets etc that will take up one of my rooms ( usually the dining room) . The Wampa set is one thing that can't just be moved and stored away and put back together at a later date. It has to be built, filmed and then destroyed and binned. So, if work isn't completed before TFA is due to come out, then it won't be until the new year.

adywan are you updating any of the cgi effects like cloud city and a new hope's death star run etc.

what i noticed in some of the color corrections vader's black suit and helmet and cape look gray taking away a lot of black color

They should be very dark, but they should be more gray than pure black because there is a lot of shading to a character dressed all in black. Unfortunately with the universal color correction that I am looking for, Vader in my color corrected version will probably not get much of that back. I want to avoid bringing the garbage mattes back and from what I've seen of the negative1 work, those black are supposed to be pretty dark. Everything was way to bright in the VHS and LD versions.

yotsuya what's your version look like can you show me?

To me the definite edition would included the two tv scenes, the good bad i'm the guy with the gun line, the s-mart ending all spliced into the director's cut.

Pretty sure this version has all that, and has the other ending put into another cut also included on the disc. I also believe both versions have alternate versions with a different intro, meaning... 4 versions, altogether? If I'm not mistaken. But it's been a long time since I saw this edit, and I don't have access to it anymore. I'd love to get it again.

Indeed it does, all available through seemless branching.

if that's the case can someone please updated it with german blu rays for both the director's cut and theatrical cut parts with the tv scenes form the tv cut dvd?

Superman II: The Final Cut & Superman II: Theatrical Cut Redux (Released)

Eh, another "get outta jail free card". Jor-el uses further magic powers to get Superman outta a jam. I can forgive it for him getting his super-powers back, but not to reverse time and do the very thing he warned his son against in the first film.

I've been using the "Lois knows his identity and is fine with it" ending that I came up with 5-8 years ago (and that other editors have begun using as well) as my "go-to" ending and haven't looked back since.

so 3 and 4 don't exist to you ;)
