I like to know if the knight rider blu rays could be tweaked a bit because they use a little work please would anyone like to take a crack at it? Ignore the post in fan edits of other films i put it in there by mistake
There is nothing fake or wrong about the way Carrie speaks. It sounds American all the way. Posh American when she is being a diplomat and normal when she isn’t.
No the problem i have with it is it does sound right it’s kinda jarring. Also how do you explain the first scene with her talking to vader that’s kinda jarring and when han reunites with leia and luke near the end of the movie she uses it so it is jarring. Think about there was nothing diplomatic in that scene unless i’m wrong. Also the vader scene come on that is very very jarring i don’t know.

Well i’m not too bothered about the Emperor calling him Young Skywalker in ESB:R, because this is the way he addresses him in ROTJ, so it fits in with the character. But, if this software ends up working the way they say it will, this could be a godsend for the prequel edits.

There’s nothing wrong with her using an accent in the two scenes she’s actually trying to be a diplomat.
What about when han returns after helping luke also in the very first scene she isn’t speaking that much British. So no i think maybe it should be fixed but if he can’t i understand not a big deal. Also please no sarcasm from the peanut gallery you know who you are.

I’m not sure. The wall color is not uniform, and the magenta staining that is so prevalent in the bluray, also seems to be present in this print, albeit far less noticeable…
are you going to fix that?

Doubleofive i have a question that might be a minor nitpick but when vader has his helmet of in empire the flesh you see has different colors and wounds. But and i might be wrong but in return of the jedi the back of his head looks different. Is there anything that can be done about that?
Either Lucas botched it or it’s “a deliberate artistic choice”. Or Lowry botched it and Lucas just didn’t care.
Lowry have received a color “corrected” scan, they didn’t touch the colors themselves, that was done at Lucasfilm
They didn’t lucas just gave them a print that was corrected in a machine without actual care. He sold out a long long time ago in his home in California without giving any proper love to his films.
Sorry I didn’t respond sooner. Those shots have an interesting teal tone similar to some other prints I’ve seen from the 80’s. I don’t have the Super8 print as a reference, so it’s nice to see it.
A mini update: Work continues apace with finalizing the first three reels. Most of reel 3 is finalized, and I’ve just signed off on the opening scenes:
This is 1000% the correct colors for this shot.
Even how her face looks because i could be wrong but isn’t looking kinda bright if it’s supposed to look like that than wow man lucas really botched it.

So who seems to have nail the right color for a new hope that doesn’t conflicted other colors in the film like in tantave scene the inside of the ship getting the right colors without messing with the storm troopers color vader’s color and c3po’s and r2 d2’s color etc. this or Neverar?
As far as I know, it is the goal of no one to produce some sort of color continuity saga. The goal is to get them looking like they’re supposed to, not to make them match. There is no reason to do that. Films are graded and not necessarily in life-like or consistent ways. Colors across different films do not “conflict” with one another. R2 is a different color in different films because R2 is literally a different color.
Honestly, if you want consistent grading the best bet is probably to just grab the 2011 blu-rays which have a very similar terrible blue cast on 4 of the 6 films. No one here has ever expressed interest in such a thing, as far as I know. And if they did, they would never dream of trying to get them to match the prequels.

I like the color of the walls, but I find Treepio a bit too uniform and orangy gold for my tastes. That is how he is in the JSC, but not the GOUT. He’s also not so uniform in the Technicolor sample, but your general grading seem to follow that example even though it has been frequently pointed out that the uncorrected Technicolor prints have some known color issues. I think the cleanup and image quality are fabulous, but I that you need to find some key frames and correct the entire reel as a unit. The best settings will come when the same settings make the blockade runner, Tatooine exteriors, and the droid auction all look right.
So does that mean revenge of the sith and the rest of the prequels should have a regrade as well to match the original trilogy?

DrDre, the video sample you posted is not nearly as good looking as those previous screenshots. The “final grading” feels way too orange/pink overall, and removes the slight mint-green feel that I think is almost essential.

I wasn’t criticizing you at all. That was a completely honest post, and Dreamaster’s post was also completely honest as far as I can tell. Everyone who has posted since Dre put up his video preview seems to agree that it doesn’t look very good.
Sorry just kind of use to that on here. So do you agree with me that the color of the inside of the tantaive should be the color white it was in revenge of the sith. I know there from different decade the flims i mean. But i think that is the color of the inside if so can it be done because that’s the color white i think the ship and the stormtroopers as well should be i could be wrong though. ps. do you think his video was a negative reply to me?
