What will the "official" Star Wars blu rays mess up?
What will the "official" Star Wars blu rays mess up?

Except about 12 guys on a few forums. You can probably single them out in your head right now if you've been around over the years.
Who are they?!
When it comes to colours, it is impossible to satisfy the fans. Everyone has its own perception of them. Some fans probably think that the colours should look like when they saw films projected in theatres. But the fact is that projection screen is absolutely crap when it comes to colours and fans now have distorted impression of the colours.
The colours on old film stocks are now completely altered (not to mention they varied between the copies even when they were in prime condition). As I stated once already, the a good option would be to call in the DP and/or Director and let them give their guidelines based on what they were seeing and trying to capture on the set.

I'd like to see more Leia commanding troops and giving speeches and shooting fools who don't respect.
That sounds like a bad idea. Especially if I think of her very uninspiring speech from ESB.

I really don't get why people put such a priority on non-CGI stuff...
It's called "personal preference". Does that finally answer your often asked question?
Well obviously. My question was more in a sense "why would someone even have such a preference". :)
I mean hypothetically, OT with CGI would still be great while PT with real SFX would still be the same shit. That is my main point.
Because cgi always looks fake in that cgi way. Models can also look fake, but at least you have the charm of the model. You can't seriously be saying the OT would be just as good with cgi... can you?
OT with CGI would not be as great but still great.... while PT with real models would not be as shit but still shit. That's what I said.

Dissapointed the X-wings and Falcon are cgi but fully expected them to be.
Just like the new Starship Enterprise ILM designed.
All OT ships since 1994 have been digital anway or am i wrong?
With the exception of the documentary special effects anything can happen, they did shoot models for that.

If the storyline and characters are well-written and assuming JJ will not completely screw that up, I couldn't care less if the ships are done with CGI.

The following, if true (I doubt it!), would make a lot of people less pissed at DS2 in RotJ. http://www.reddit.com/r/StarWars/comments/2nyd64/rumor_potential_4chan_episode_vii_leak_possible/cmi0tya
"The script, which is described as "too good for JJ Abrams"..."
This raised some of my expectations haha. :D

Me and my friends have taken to calling it a broadsaber
I've been calling it "Excalisaber" myself.
As for me, I have been calling it "stupid" so far.

I still hate that godforsaken lightsaber to the deepest inner core of my soul, though.
Me too. I also hate that cloak and hood. Sidious and Maul was enough of that for me.
I don't mind the black cloak and hood. Although I really hate that lightsabre (to me it seems almost like they are trying to troll fans with it), my first impression of the villain is very good actually. To me, he is by far the most interesting thing of this trailer.

The point I'm trying to make is that the TIE is a successful design. Like a B-1 or a B-52, you can upgrade the electronics in the cockpit, and even the engines, and it's probably going to look pretty much the same on the outside.
Judging from ROTJ, it seems that even at that time TIE Fighters were being replaced by TIE Interceptors.
What I really like are Tatooine shots. Especially the sand dunes shot at the beginning. There is no damn cloudy weather like in ANH.

We should all be happy as clams to have flesh and blood guys in real Stormtrooper armor again.
You know, I couldn't care less if they were made with CGI. My primary concern is with the storyline and characters. Of course I put a lot of weight on visuals as well but that is in a sense of design. If the design of the stuff is good then it doesn't matter how it is realised (i.e. whether real props or CGI).
For example that lightsabre design is stupid. The fact that it might be a real prop doesn't change the fact that it is stupid.
That lightsabre is stupid.

Starkiller, IG-88, and Vitiate = unholy trinity of the EU
True. :)
This rumour is on the level of chemtrails...
I don't really see any sense in this. The participants in the production may be entitled to get a little fraction of the film profit. Certainly not something that would bankrupt Lucas... even if he had to pay it back with interest after lost lawsuits.

There's no way to market yet another version of the SE (without the OOT) that will get people to flock to the stores.
I think people on OT.com hugely misjudge the OOT's relevance to an average fan. There has been a very few of us who refused to buy Blu-Ray on the principle of having unwanted changes.
If they release another set with something "extra", I think fans will buy it just as they did 2004 and 2011 release.
I really don't care about the title... all I care is about the actual film.
RicOlie_2 said:
Is it? Why would releasing the same thing again be more profitable than releasing something different?
Well the ratio between profit and investment would be maximised. They would practically spent nothing to release it while it has been proven over and over again that Star Wars fans buy just about everything LucasFilm releases.

As Iger says, they're "gonna be really smart about it".
How smart is another Blu-Ray of the 2011 cuts?
The smartest in terms of profit...

Even though I don't like PT, I consider myself a kind of common-sense Star Wars fan. When it comes to EP4 title I don't see why someone who accepts the rest of the saga (whether that is just OT or the whole thing) would insist on calling it just "Star Wars". Well tbh I actually know the stupid reason... you think you are being "cool" for doing that but quite frankly no one really cares.
The only case when I think it is reasonable for someone to stick with just "Star Wars" is when the person ignores the rest of the films (including ESB and ROTJ)... like Anchorhead for example.

OK sure, but nothing changes the fact that the sun does not go around the moon. In fact, the moon doesn't even revolve around the sun, it revolves around the earth. I guess technically the moon goes around the sun since it follows the earth. Anyway though, nothing anyone thinks or says changes the fact that the sun does not go around the moon. No point of view alters that fact.
