And my point is that "own moderation" is already available within the scope of ignore list. I believe that major offenders (such as spammers) are already being banned even within the "Off Topic" section.

As I already said, people should just use ignore option. It provides a sufficient level of moderation ability to each individual user. If you put someone on ignore (to you) it should be virtually the same as if the person was banned.

However, I feel that some individuals in this thread are not satisfied with that and seem to be after some personal revenge for being outwitted in some petty arguments.

A very similar behaviour was displayed in The Disregard Darth Id Pledge thread, where particular individuals were not satisfied by simply ignoring a target person, but tried to encourage others to do so too.

I finally watched The Wolf of Wall Street. The thing I liked the most about it is how it takes the audience through the story. Although the story is about all sorts of bad things, it somehow makes you feel they are not bad and even makes you feel euphoric. Probably the way Belfort actually experienced it.

Let's be fair here, shall we? I did no such thing. Unless using the thread's primary function qualifies as "doing whatever one wants"?

I only reminded a particular person that he cannot expect people not to utilise thread's primary function. I was even so considerate that I actually respected his unwarranted demands and did not debate or comment the content itself.

You gave a bad analogy though. A very good analogy would be if you said to the doctor "Please don't treat this patient, you can treat the one over there instead". This one has all the elements: (1) asking doctor not to do his function (analogy to thread's function), (2) asking him to move to some other patient (analogy to moving to the other thread), and (3) making commands when you are in no position to do so.
