Star Wars Spinoffs announced
Time

Well before the dark times, before the prequels, I have always thought Yoda was against any kind of weapons (lightsabre included). In all his dialogue throughout the OT, not once he glorifies a lightsabre (I don't think he even mention it). Also in his entire lesson we don't see Luke using his own either. So the way I see it, Yoda does not have nor need a lightsabre.

ROTJ is the best Star Wars film... discuss!
Time

It is impossible to compare films by any objective measure because there is none (well maybe there is a budget/profit ratio which doesn't really help us here). Films are an art and they are completely up to individual opinion. By far the best reference we have are actually IMDb scores which are generalisation of large amount of opinions.

Looking at ROTJ score, it is at 75. place (within top 100 all-time). That pretty much tells you that people think it is a pretty damn great film. So if you say it is an average your opinion deviates considerably.

Return of the King. And there are 11 guys named Oscar who can back me up on this one

Oscars are basically a generalisation of opinions of a few people. In that respect IMBd score is at least 1000 times more valid. Note that I am not arguing about ROTK greatness, I am just pointing out the worthlessness of Oscars.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**
Time

I hate prequels (and this is not the prequels, but generally prequels). I think direct prequels to something is a dumb concept and is bound to disappoint at least to some degree. By trying to explain some characters origin and backstory, one is potential ruining its mystique and on top of that competes with the audience's imagination.

Saying that Ewoks are the same as Jawas is crazy. Jawas are mostly background entity that serves as a plot device for the droids to get from A to B. Ewoks are the reson the Alliance managed to defeat the Empire.

Like Ewoks contributed to the destruction of DS2, so did Jawas contribute to the destruction of DS1. As I said earlier, if Jawas didn't pick up the two droids in the desert they would easily be spotted and captured by imps and the rebels would not get the plans. This is completely equivalent to Ewoks providing distraction for the rebels to blow up the bunker and eventually DS2.

As I already said, they may have been a reason for Alliance to win the battle but they sure weren't the reason for the defeat of empire. My previous post explaining that:

And anyway the crucial point of Empire's defeat was not destruction of DS2 but the death of Emperor (which is entirely credited to Vader and Luke's influence on him). If he didn't kill him he would probably have escaped (even if DS2 was destroyed). Note that Emperor was not a proud guy like Tarkin, that he would stay on DS2 when there was a clear danger.

Yes but the Ewoks have a large amount of screen time.

So do Jawas.

Not even remotely close to the same amount of screen time. And the only time the Jawas are involved in any sort of bad "comedy" is in the SE changes. Also, while pivotal to the plot, they are not behind the defeat of some of, what are supposed to be, the Empire's best forces.

And this is coming from someone who's never really minded Ewoks and who generally loves ROTJ.

Now Jawas may not have as much screen time as Ewoks but to say "not even remotely close" is just wrong. Almost in entire Tatooine sequence you see Jawas.

Also saying that Ewoks were pivotal in defeat of Empire is over-exaggeration again. They were basically just a distraction which allowed rebels to defeat a company-sized unit of stormtroopers. It was Chewie who did most of the job btw. You might want to watch the film again. If you compare, they are just as pivotal to destruction of DS2 as Jawas were in destruction of DS1. If Jawas didn't pick the droids up, they would have been easily spotted and captured by the imps and the plans would have never reached the rebels, in that sense.

ROTJ has many great scenes/moments that rivals/surpass things in the previous two films. I think those who complain about ROTJ usually completely ignore them and go on about irrelevant stuff (ewoks etc.)

The Ewoks are both annoying and relevant.

They are as relevant as Jawas in SW. Plus Jawas are just as cute/pathetic (or whatever) as Ewoks. Yet I haven't seen anyone complaining or calling it a toy sale.

And yes while I agree that some of the "comedy" stuff involved with them is annoying, I just don't see how this would be any major factor on making one's overall opinion of the film. The little pigmen and their playing with 3PO's head in ESB are just as annoying, yet I haven't seen anyone complaining about that either.

The way I see it is that some people just need to find an outcast in anything so they can pick on it and complain about. In case of OT, ROTJ came the last and seems the most convenient candidate.

What is/was the best SW Game ever, on any platform?

But not a single mention of the Force Unleashed games?

That is the single worst SW game I have ever played. I wish I could delete the brain memory of it. The storyline is insulting to the characters of Vader and Emperor, to say the least. Some dumb worthless character defeating both Emperor and Vader. Stupid and ridiculous. I mean how could a crap like this get a green light at LucasArts? Oh I forgot... it was developed by LucasArts. No wonder the new owners closed it down.

Sometimes to get to sleep I put on RLM's prequel reviews. So cathartic.  Or recently, What If the Prequels Were Good (that actually is quite good and worth considering for PT rewriters). If there was a willing artist, an animated or even still-image alternative prequel with good voice work would be awesome.

I think RLM is a pure attention whore (targeting something already unpopular etc.). Why would I waste 2 hours or so listening to someone's opinion when I have my own? I already know why I don't like the prequels.

Sad thing is seeing comments of people after seeing the videos such as: "I didn't realise before how flawed the prequels are" etc. To get your opinion changed by some attention whoring crap is another poof that humans are basically a dumb herd.
