I was fortunate to not hear about it before I watched it. I liked the change and my little brother did too. I immediately looked on the internet to see what fans reaction was, and I saw that it was mixed, like most other changes to the film.

I think it's a good question, cause I've seen some stating they refuse to pay for the OOT. I own them. I got the recent re-release on dvd.

Well, if they are bringing back the original characters I think that means that seeing luke in action again is a sure thing. Since he also has a love for the series. I guess they can just write Han out. Kill him off or something, cause he can't live forever anyway.

If it was just for a episode or two of the tv show then he turned down easy money. It can't take so long to film a tv show episode.

I was a bit of a Starwars virgin too. I only saw the last 4 parts once or so, I did see part 2 alot tho. And then episode 3 made me watch all of them.

I'm wanting to keep up on info about what these are gonna be like, release date, media format, etc. I'm sure the official starwars forums are only gonna tell you what they want you to know so info from them will be slow in coming out.

I can't see buying the OOT again, for animorphic anyway. If they did remaster it tho I probably would. The OT wasn't too bad tho.

I was suprised to see the original versions in the back too. And finding them labeled as Bonus discs. Cause the reason people are buying these for the most part is for the original versions.

Theres one of these threads at starwars.com but I didnt' bother posting in it cause it was already filled with alot of bad ideas. Replacing Obiwan with the new actor? Nope.

I really would like to see alot of the creature effects replaced with CG versions. Especially yoda. And also fix the light saber colors. I know my first one is blasphemy thing but since I got my original versions now I'd like to see it tweaked out more.

Damn, so you mean they didn't clean up the original films and ported the laserdisc version? I thought that was a rumor. Sucks that it came true, But is there a difference between the original and the laserdisc version? Excuse my newbness.

I don't think anyone could be suprised to see what Jabba looks like at this point. Maybe in 87, but Jabba is a culture icon now. Even people who don't watch these all the time know what he looks like. So seeing him in Episode 1 and 4 don't seem to kill anything.

I'm just curious if you plan to pull out the SE DVD and it's holder and throw them away and pretend only the original was in there. Or perhaps get a new dvd case and print a new label to complete the illusion. I'm curious if any will go to these lengths.

I'm glad you posted this, as I just got the dvd today. I believed as others did, that the original was probably better than the new versions. After watching the original I came to appreciate the new versions more. I really can't say I hate any of the changes made in the SE. Jabbas new theme jumps out at me much more than the background music used in the original. Plus since I'm a fan of the NT I like the new Anikin and eyebrowless anikin. I guess they were right in saying the new ending theme music don't seem to fit as well, but I like that music more.
