Judging by ESB & ROTJ original box office gross, here is why Lucas started to change

Jenny, don't forget that Gary Kurtz "left" (means "was kicked out by GL") the SW franchise, he was the guy who guided GL in his writing telling him "no you can't do this, that's useless, etc..."

but we can thank Marquand; he's the one who insisted to have the Yoda sequence in Jedi.

Dude, are you serious?! They used actual animal parts? What kind of health code nightmare do you think that was? Dear, god...

yeah totally! they also used that "technique" for the face hugger autopsy it was made with bits of shellfishes and fishes.
Most of the time the most simple things are the most efficients, i've experienced that when i was making a short movie; we needed to have a splash of blood, we tried everything; spray, syringe, sponge with fake blood but it wasn't powerfull enough, so what i did was i had a glass of fake blood and spit it ! the shot was perfect! it's movie magic!

When watching the new "Kingdom of Heaven" DVD (which is excellent) Ridley Scott, to this day, believes that if there is anyway possible to create a scene NOT using CGI, then it should be done that way. Yet good old George feels the need to CGI a floor. A fucking floor for crying out loud.

That was an advice given to him by Douglas Trumbull on the shooting of Blade runner; Scott wanted to use SFX for a scene but Trumbull conviced him to do it "real" because real stuff always looks better on screen, just like the interior of the eggs in Alien ; no animatronics, no latex make ups just cows and porks guts!

Lucas won't fork over the cash to get the originals cleaned up for us, but he is willing to spend the time, money and effort to make his shittty films pop out at the audiance? Fuck that arrogent basterd.

i have a new name for the Ranch; Arkham Asylum! the guy is totally insane! he's like the batman villains, everytime he gets out of his little dictatorial state, it's to destroy and bring chaos...he can afford the money to make a "probably" crappy TV show, a 3D rererelease of the SW movies but can't put some cash for minimum cleaning and mastering...STUPID!
with him the worse is always coming! i'm starting to think that the year 2007 will be full of bad news! (i hope i'm wrong)

as you can see the anamorphic transfer has a sharper image the colours are more sturated and the black is really black, not kind of darkgreyish...

yes, the first edition from 1999 was a 4/3 master, you guys in USA are more lucky than us in France; whe had the 1999 edition and then about a year ago we had the "new" edition. Well, not so new... it was only a repackaging of the old disc with new cover from the 16/9 zone 1 edition!

Oh god in heaven, I hope not.

I have never in my life wanted to punch Lucas so hard.

Jenny you are a lot softer than me, if i had him in front of me right now i would kick him where it really hurts !

Torn.... To buy, or not to buy.

I'm going to be buying this for two reasons:

1) We demanded the OT...which is what we're getting...warts and all. It may not be the transfer that we EXPECTED, but we ARE getting the OT on DVD. To complain that we're not getting the OT the way we would LIKE it to be on DVD only confirms (in GL's mind) that we're just a bunch of whining losers that are impossible to please.

2) The price I found for it is actually quite reasonable ($36 AR for all 3 titles. See my other post). I paid around $45 for the '04 boxset when that came out! If I'd have to pay $45-$90 I'd be upset. I'm dumping my old boxset on Ebay, so I'm not out a load of cash for this release.

I just don' think it's wise/prudent to keep complaining when he IS giving us the OT on DVD. Once this is released, THEN we can start pushing for a better transfer. If nobody buys this version, Lucas will definitely think he did the right thing by not spending the money to spruce the OT up for this release. Everyone writing letters to Lucas and Co. are just wasting their time, IMHO. Sales are the only things that will sway Lucas. Just an opinion of a diehard OT fan...

that exactly what i think, not buying these dvds would be a good way to send the message that we want the OOT in good quality but GL will only use it to say: "see?...nobody wants them! so i'm right!"
