Doctor Who

The Valeyard was a creation of the Time Lords (they manipulated the Doctor's future and then projected him into his then present).

When that happened he became a separate being, this seems to be the same being.

He is clearly Chris Ecclestone's stand in.

They couldn't get the survivor guilt ridden ninth Doctor so they invented a new one.

They should have got Paul McGann instead,

Why on earth didn't they???? McGann is my favourite Doctor. :-/

Man Of Steel

I really liked it. Yeah, there were problems, but overall I thought it was pretty good.

Haven't seen it (yet) curious to know, what were the problems?

There's a lot of shakey-cam, which I'm not a fan of and the action scenes go on for a little too long. Not really a fan of the "Superman is Jesus" angle the movie has as well, although it's less prominent than in the Superman Returns. :/

I'd definitely go see it again though.

Hannibal still manages to be artistically ghastly (you could hang stills from these episodes in a gallery).

I've had a Biu-Ray player for a couple of months now and haven't felt compelled to buy any new discs for it.

I think the first series is a definite contender as everyone involved deserve to be rewarded for what they have done so far.

The series has surpassed the films and the books for me in terms of what it does with the characters.

I hope they don't screw it up in an effort to keep the title character free.

I could not agree more. The show is top notch stuff. Not for the faint hearted mind you.

Or...

Callback to TRM?

Pad: Something's happened...I'm pregant.
Ani: Is it my baby?
Pad: *speechless*
Ani: It's not my baby, is it?
Pad: *speechless*
Nute: Now there are two of them!
Ani: It's not fair!

Or you could swap the dialogue around with him whining about not being a Master. So it would seem like he's blaming her for the baby for some reason. Sort of...

Pad: Something's happened... Annie, I'm pregnant..

Ani: What? How can you do this? This is outrageous, it’s unfair!

Pad: *speechless*

Ani: Is it my baby?

I think where our lines are getting crossed is yours is an American perspective and mine a British one.

That's Bullshit. I'm British too and I share a similar mindset to Gaffer. (Although he can express it better than I can). You can't just say "Yeah, well I'm British so mmaeeagh, meeagh meeaggghhh!" So fucking what? You could be from Mars for all I care and you could still have the same mindset and ideas.

of course they don't look silly, they're women.

Actually I think most of the women in the hot women thread look silly and somewhat uncomfortable

but it's just clothing.

Yikes! Her back must hurt.

Warbler, a lot of men now wear earrings, something that was traditionally worn by women (although it was also worn by men in the past). It doesn't matter whether the man is gay, straight, bi, asexual or whatever, that has become a social norm that people have come to accept. But why should something like that get a pass, whereas me wearing lipstick, skirts and dresses not?

I guess wearing an earring is not as obvious as wearing a dress.

What if I wore a really tiny dress then??

All depends. Are you a terrifically figured attractive young woman? Or a fat, middle aged slob of a man?

None of the above... well, besides the "young" and "man" parts.

So are those my only options for wearing a tiny dress? :(

Well, on that basis alone. If you were to wear one say, in ordinary every life. Like going to the shops or work or a job interview for example? What statement would you be trying to make? Excluding the 'I'm different from everyone else because I'm an extrovert and what I wear is testament to me as a person because I don't let my personality differentiate me from everyone else rather its what I choose to dress myself in that separates me.' ?

Who says I'm trying to make a statement? I wear them cos I feel comfortable wearing them and I like the look of them. And I don't wear them all the time, I recently attended both a funeral and wedding recently and I wore a suit to both events. Sometimes I like to wear trousers and shirts and stuff, and sometimes I like to wear skirts.

And I'm probably more introverted than extroverted actually :P

Did anyone notice the transgender (?) officer (?) on the bridge?

You're either thinking that cyborgs are transgender, only transgender people look like women but shave their heads, or are talking about someone I missed.

I think this is who I'm talking about...

http://en.memory-alpha.org/wiki/Darwin

Although I'm not 100% sure because I don't remember her having any lines.  She may not be transgender, but she had big arms, a bald head, and some distracting makeup.

I thought that was just a bald lady... or a deltan like ilia. Not sure what was up with Lobot being in a Trek movie though.

That was the briefly true in the UK (seventies and eighties) but not everywhere like Polari, hanky codes and cottaging.

Homosexuals living in secret and using secret codes to communicate to each other has largely been made redundant and only the sphere of the very insecure or isolated.

Indeed. I think it was during the Victorian era that Homosexuals would wear a green carnation so that one another would secretly know their orientation... or maybe that was just a thing followers of Oscar Wilde's would wear.
