...Actually, I really don't care if he's banned or not... I was just saying that because everyone else was saying we should bring him back. I thought being different would make me cool.

Sounds like all my goth and 'alternative' friends- "I want to be different... just like like everyone else!"

Just like in horror and suspense films, I feel less shown and said adds to sense of mystery. The reveal always tends to suck so MagFan should stay cloaked in mystery.

PS: ric- nice to see you outside of the 'Off Topic' forums!

PPS: For those who enjoy logic puzzles, if what MagFan has said to date is true then one might wonder why Kevin Smith would only be invited to the Ranch for a viewing through an anonymous email account on a 'fan' edit. Unless he got *two* invites... mmmwwhahahahahahaaaaaa.....

Theory A: Burton read and ripped off Kevin Smith's 'Jay & Silent Bob' comic series (a popular rumor)

Theory B: Monkeys are funny. Especially Washington D.C. monkeys!

Theory C: Tim Burton was too busy cashing his paycheck to give a rat's ass about any aspect of the film.

The only redeeming feature of B&R IMHO was the bright colours...so if this retains that while making it a bit more...umm..dark (?) then I'm keen to see it. Has anyone in the UK offered to distrbute yet?

Yes most of the bright colors are still there. No one in the UK has offered yet. I should be post to usenet as well as getting something up at MySpleen in the near future so there will be opportunity there as well. Possibly... just possibly... when the extras are ready for Version 1.2 I'll have a PAL version as well as NTSC... but that's putting the cave before the bat (or something like that).

I hear you there, ADM! I too will nitpick my own stuff to death but it really does take someone else to watch (read, or whatever) to ensure that you haven't overlooked something.

Video editing stuff like this certainly makes you appreciate the written word, doesn't it? At least in text documents you don't have to re-render, re-burn, etc. after you've discovered a mistake (unless you've already gone to print! )

Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more of your stuff!

Well, that sounds great about distributing. I've just sent you a PM with my full address.

Got it- thanks!

I like the shot on the back of the ass with "BANNED" branded across it. And the quote, did someone really say that?

I had to put the butt shot somewhere! The quote is from the original DVD package and was from film critic Michael Medved- but I added the word 'NOT' in front of his name.

Any GI Joe fans around here?
Time
I'm an old-school Joe fan as well, though I'm not sure if I'll pick up the DVD sets though... there's so much other stuff to buy!

I did have (and still do have) most of the first few 80s series of the GI Joe toys. I bought more of those than say Transformers mainly because of the cost. I faithfully watched the show but even as a kid also found it silly that no one ever died. I guess I was spoiled by Robotech, a series in which even major characters could kick off at any time.

The GI Joe comic series from Marvel was, IMHO, superior to the show in many ways and I followed it for quite some time after I stopped watching the show. Anyone else read the comic?

Jay, I share your confusion over this matter. Its not just the derogatory posts IMHO but also the *number* of useless posts. I realize some people do this just increase post counts and ranking but 90% of what I read of his posts are either randomly inflamatory or purely non sequitur. That said, one thing I've noticed is that if people ONLY reply to the occasional lucid post from him than he is less likely to go off on a tangent. Basically if you ignore him he tends to 'play nice' but if you reply to his typical statements than he replies and replies and replies...etc, etc.

I feel he is he for mostly good reasons. Perhaps other forums have had too much influence on him. I know youth is a factor as well. If it weren't for those times when he *does* contribute I'd suggest an full ban. I truly hope no one thinks I'm slamming him here. Maybe a 'cooling off' period will help. Or maybe he'll just find greener pastures.

But basically for ANYONE like this I suggest that if everyone just ignores them they tend to go away on their own.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Crikey!

It looks like we'll be getting some distribution down under! Works for me- I'll be sure to get that disc out to you klokwerk, just PM me the rest of your address.

And not only do I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say, I also mailed a copy to Jett at Batman-On-Film.Com. He's done some remarkable work covering all aspects of the Batman movies. And he really LOVES 'B & R'... NOT. Here was his review... hopefully he'll have something to say about the edit.

Jett's 'Batman & Robin' review

And here is a glimpse at my 'official' cover art (much larger file will of course be made available later):
