The actors were just doing what they were told.
"Faster. More Intense."
LOL.
^ Can someone summarize that in a sentence?
Settlers of Catan is one of my favorites.
7 Wonders is a fantastic, wonderful game. It's like a combination of Catan and Civilization. Not so much a deck building game like Dominion. Check out this video review - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cjv1JfFeQko
Risk is one of the all time greats.
And I have a soft spot for the old school games like Sorry!, Chutes and Ladders, etc.

"The Last Temptation of Christ" (1988)
Great and stunning film!
11 out of 12 Apostles
They forgot the 13th Apostle, Rufus.
I like to think of it more along the lines of George being a dad and kicking the UOT out of the house at adulthood. But the UOT found a nice home elsewhere. :)
^ Nice article, zombie. Only things I disagree with are that the TPM's problems can largely be placed on CGI and that Jar Jar as a character isn't more ridiculous than Chewbacca.
The issues in the prequels ultimately fall on the script. The CGI is marvelous spectacle but it's just a hollow distraction from the writing woes. In ANH, the special effects served the story while also flexing their muscle. Plus, like that writer said, miniatures and models look and feel real, not like pixels.
Jar Jar looks AND acts like a buffoon, but I bet that if written differently he could have been received more positively. Same way that if Chewbacca were written like a mindless oaf (but physically unchanged), he would have been a completely different character and much less endearing.
Quite honestly, I think George is stepping down a bit because he's old, he's made a ton of money, and the future of the SW franchise is more or less secure.
All of the above reasons are valid, but I think when it comes down the guy is simply retiring because the time feels right to him.
Probably a report, but SW in feudal Japan:
I think I have a new way to seduce women. I'm going to walk up to them and say, "Hey, you must have a high midichlorian count, because your reading is off the chart."
Ehh? Ehhhhh?
Instead of saying bitch frequently, Rick says dense.

The relationship between Rick and George reminds me of that between Jesse and Walt on the tv show Breaking Bad.
If you were to ask, "George, why? Why Rick?" George would respond, "Because he does what I say. Because I can trust him."
I have nothing against Rick. Seems like a good guy but at the end of the day he has to serve the dark lord. If nobody has changed George's mind thus far about the UOT, I doubt it will happen anytime soon.
Just look at the back of the 1995 VHS release. It mentions something about that being the final home video release of the original versions of Star Wars. George has viewed the UOT as imperfect and incongruent with his vision of SW for quite a long time (as most directors view their works incomplete or having flaws). I don't think much will change.
Never say never, but I'd caution people from becoming too optimistic about seeing a proper UOT release.

The way darkjedi goes around randomly being a total cunt to people, while simultaneously basing his work off other peoples work and then not sharing the results or giving preportional credit, I'm surprised he wasn't banned two years ago. Hopefully he will stop acting like a 14-year-old jock now.
I'm neutral in all of this discussion but have wanted to post this gif for a long time. I take no sides or make no judgments about whatever reasons are behind dark jedi's temporary ban and related issues.

Lost In Space
This is what the interweb is calling Prometheus. Get it? Lindelof's uninspired writing and lack of resolution? Yea?

Frink is the new OT.com gossip queen. ;)
Wasn't sure whether to put this in the Prometheus or TDKR thread. Here will do.
George, you are tearing us apart! Release the UOT and the fighting will end. :)
Some redditor found this on youtube. Spot on.

Them being humans in a costume is a minor disappointment for me. If they had done something mindblowing with the concept I wouldn't mind the retcon, but they didn't.
Ultimately, making the Space Jockey into man's creator makes the Alien universe smaller.
I'm not even completely sure if Engineers = Space Jockey. The Space Jockey looked like it was 20 feet tall and the Engineer looked half that, at most.
I'm guessing they want the Space Jockey from Alien to be some kind of "head engineer". That could explain the size difference. But, I think it would have been better to distinguish the concept of Engineers from the visuals of the SJ.
Hampton Fancher (scribe of original Blade Runner script) is going to be writing the sequel. As long as Damon Lindelof isn't brought on board, it should be solid.
From reddit - David's role in the movie.
