Nice touch! But I think the “y” looks a bit weird?
I agree but that’s just how it looks in the Old Republic font (Which was the closet I could find to KOTOR2’s font). If you have any font suggestions that’d be great though!
I’ve found a way to make the subtitles (forced or otherwise) look pretty authentic while remaining customisable in your video player (I.e., you can change size, change the color and font if you don’t like how they look and turn them off and on bc they’re not hardcoded in). It’s a small improvement but I think it’s one worth doing! It also allows me to make the subtitles (forced or otherwise) look like KOTOR2 for the Twilight of the Apprentice episode, which I think is a nice touch!

Book 5 is your best edit yet! Can’t wait to see Book 6! If you stream your editing process some more I’ll be there to hassle you in chat haha!
Won’t be long before some new releases. I’m rendering out my Twilight of the Apprentice overhaul to watch, review and send to other faneditors for some extra feedback! I’ll post some more screenshots to share with the finalised designs soon! 😄
All the 4K files and everything are reuploaded and all the links on the spreadsheet are now fixed 😃
For full disclosure this process uses AI but it does not use any kind of AI generation and isn’t possible to this degree without it.
This tutorial uses 1 tool with an extra plugin.
Ultimate Voice Remover - A free opensource AI audio separating program.
Cinematic Sound Demixing - The model used to separate the music and the sound effects
Install UVR (Ultimate Voice Remover) and download CSD (Cinematic Sound Demixing).
Navigate to where you installed UVR and open “models\Demucs_Models\v3_v4_repo”. From here you’ll likely see two files. For me, these files are “955717e8-8726e21a.th” and “htdemucs.yaml”
Screenshot of the folder
Copy a single .th file into this directory. For this example I’ve used “97d170e1-a778de4a.th” and then copy “htdemucs.yaml”, paste the copy in this directory and rename it. I’ve renamed mine to “Cinematic_Sound_Demixing.yaml”
Screenshot of added files
Now open “Cinematic_Sound_Demixing.yaml” - to open it, I use notepad++. It should read “models: [‘955717e8’]” change this to “models: [‘97d170e1’]”. Now we’re ready to open UVR.
Screenshot of Edited File
Open UVR and use Select Input to chose the track you wish to separate the SFX and music. Use Select Output to specify the outfit of the separated audio. Choose Process Model “Demucs” and then Demucs Model “Cinematic_Sound_Demixing” (This will be whatever you named the .yaml file). Once that’s all selected, make sure the other settings are to your liking and press “Start Processing”.
If you receive and error here, don’t be alarmed. Just check your Output folder.
In your output folder you should have a (Bass), (Drums) and (Other) version of your original file. From what I can tell, Bass is the separated SFX, Drums are the music and Other is voice.
From here, you can import your sound effects and new audio for the scene you’re rescoring!
Some things to keep in mind
This works best with stereo audio, so if you’re editing 5.1 like I do, just export out 2 channels at a time and patch them back together before importing them back into your project.
Terabox files are temporarily down. No idea what happened but all my files on terabox are deleted. So I’ll slowly get those links back up 😂
Edit:
Looks like the account got hacked and all my files got deleted and only “recover from Terabox.exe” remained. No way in hell I’m downloading and opening that file! No worries there though, I only had the edit up. In short it might be a little bit until all the 4K versions are available again. They’re all uploading now but then I’ve got to put the individual links in the spreadsheet. I’ve updated the folder encase I don’t get to updating the individual file links fast enough.
This also means the non recolored versions are also down! but to be honest, those versions are mostly for other faneditors! hahaha
Goob, are you cutting out the helicopter blades? I found an elegant solution in my Rebels Ahsoka-focused movie.
Most of the time yes! There are some instances where you can’t really (new inquisitor flying up the lift of the temple) & the new inquisitor dying.
But it’s not as goofy anymore because you don’t see them flying with it and the only time you do see flying the Saber breaks and the inquisitor dies.
I’ll rewatch your Ashoka-focused movie and see what you did!
Edit:
Okay, so the work for the Collab with Acbagel is complete. But that work also led to me reworking Malachor in Rebels. I’m thinking I’ll release these episodes around the same time (the darksaber episode first as it’ll be quicker to upscale the reedited sections).
They’re not too related but when the darksaber mythos referres to Malachor V. I want the viewers to picture what that planet is in KOTOR2, not so much what we got in Rebels. Hence why I’m going to the effort to fix the aesthetics of Malachor.
I’ve also been rescoring to add in some KOTOR2 music, as well as adding extra sound effects to help change the vibe of the planet.
And, as always, I’ve found some more cuts and changes to enhance the flow of the episode too.
I’ve already changed the color grading from the screenshots I’ve shown off to be a touch greener, less saturated and to punch those reds out a bit more. I’ll share more screenshots when I’ve finalised the look of the planet.
It’s safe to say, twilight of the apprentice is going to have a completely different vibe by the time I’m done! Haha
Here are some before and after screen shots of my rework of Malachor to Malachor V

If anyone is interested in previews (more then I show off here) Acbagels YT Channel contains little previews here and there that I’ve sent him. (They only appear in his live streams!)
Collab with Acbagel is going well. Getting close to a release 😃
In the meantime the changed lore is leading to changes in other episodes.
Malachor V in Twilight of the apprentice is coming!
Working with acbagel to align this show with his excellent Way of Mandalore is absolutely spectacular news. This whole edit has taken leaps and bounds these last few years. Every time I think there cannot possibly be more, we get a new surprise.
I’m determined to produce the best Rebels edit I can! The show has such potential and falls just short.
Best wishes to both of you on the edit and your personal lives as well.
Thanks mate! The editing is going well and so is my personal life!
Fun news!
I’m collaborating with Acbagel to a) slightly rework the Darksabers backstory to make our edits compatible and b) give a more lore rich breakdown of the weapon in S03E05 - The Darksaber of Mandalore.
Acbagels helping rewrite the dialogue and sort out the voice lines for me and I’m changing and adding to the animation.
All these changes are going to take place in the sequence where Fenn Rau tells Kanan about the darksaber and why it’s important to the Mandalorians.
^ Here is a little sneak peak from the new animation I’ll be inserting into this scene. (It’s totally not finalised at all yet!)
If you haven’t seen Acbagels The Way of Mandalore project, I highly recommend it! It’s awesome! 😄
Hello Man. Can you PM me the links? Your edit sounds fantastic and I wanna check it out.
PM Sent. Hope you enjoy what I’ve done mate 😃
S04E03 - Assault on the Factory is now released!
The next thing I’ll likely release is ANOTHER version of the first episode… There’s a few reasons for this. Mainly, I’ve found a way to properly fix the audio rather then just mask mistake after mistake after mistake until it sounds good. So all my episode rereleases should sound perfect again instead of pretty good! AND there is some VFX work in that episode I’m just not happy with. It was the best I could do at the time but I’ve come along way since then! 😄
I should be releasing S04E03 - Assault on the Factory - V4 fairly soon (within 24 hours). I’ll be running it through handbrake while I sleep then updating the metadata when I wake up, then uploading it!
I’ve now released S04E02 - The Tie Defender V4! S04E03 is still to come 😃
Season two subtitles have been added, thanks to g00b ❤️
Included in these subs are translations of all alien dialogue! Some translations are quite direct (as much as we can decipher anyway) and others are creative interpretations.
If you’re interested in just the translations and not the full subtitles, check the subtitle folder link for the season on the tracker spreadsheet and then download the “.forced.en” subs 😃
Just an update: I haven’t worked much on this project since getting the movie released. I’ve mostly been focusing my editing time on other projects however I’m currently working to get the episode versions of the movie released sometime in the near future. They’re all edited, I’ve just got to work on chapters, subtitles, then get them compressed and uploaded.
