V1.2 of Twilight of the Apprentice incoming, I noticed a few less then great transitions that needed to be fixed up which have been in this version š
After fiddling around in handbrake and removing itās autocrop setting I have resolved the resolution error for Twilight of the Apprentice and have uploaded the fixed 1.1 version! š
Iāve noticed a resolution issue with Twilight of the Apprentice, Iām currently in the processes of fixing it. Iāll mark it as V1.1 once the solution has been uploaded.
You must do what you feel is right of course.
Your best work comes from your passion and having fun! So even if it might be a step to far, it can always lead you making a more impressive more unique edit! Besides, youāve got a great audience who will let you know if it ends up being too far haha
My edit for Twilight of the Apprentice is now released! This is probably my best edit yet. I havenāt cut much, as this episode doesnāt need too much to trim!
Iāve tried my best to remove the flying inquisitors, itās a little clunky but itās better then having them in!
Iāve added some lightening bolts from the old saber Ezra picks up (I felt it adds to the age and instability of the weapon before it breaks).
And Iāve modified the voice of the Sith holocron - as good as the voice is, its just Ventress from Clone Wars and I feel that doesnāt mesh too well with continuity so now itās not recognizable as Ventress and keeps its menace.
I do agree Anakin Starkiller!
Iāve been combining episodes that are in the same arc and have considered that for Fighter Flight however Rebels doesnāt tend to combine episodes too easily unless theyāre apart of the same arc. In season 2 Iāve combined The Forgotten Droid and the Mystery of Chopper Base but that was a bit easier as although theyāre 2 different stories they push forward the same plot point: finding a new Rebel base.
I could move it to be the beginning of another episode⦠however then Ezra and Zeb are suddenly friends quickly with no real explanation (the main reason I kept Fighter Flight in the first place). Given before this Zeb almost let Ezra get into imperial custody, I think itās a needed although poorer episode.
Iāll definitely give it some further thought when I come back for my V2 of season one though! But so far my focus has been separating episodes via arc and cutting down as much bad or redundant parts as possible (hence how it got to 13 minutes in the first place). As well as adding little touch ups and small visual edits if I feel theyāre necessary. E.g., Giving some added visual effects in Ezraās Jedi trial in Path of the Jedi and the same for Kanan in Shroud of Darkness.
So excited to watch your Mortis arch EddieDean! Canāt wait! The more passionate the creator the better the outcome! Hoping itāll be your best episode yet! š
Progress is coming along nicely! Iām deep into season 2 now and I can feel my editing getting stronger and better with each episode! S02E07-08-09 came out nice and speedy because I didnāt need to cut much!
Iāve now updated the main post to show off some of the posters Iāve put together (mostly just adding the logo to existing works and the bottom season banner for the season posters).
Iāve seen many attempts to edit Star Wars Rebels here, most of which take the form of movies but I just donāt feel like the structure of this show lends itself to that style of edit very well. After watching EddieDeanās Clone Wars Refocused I was inspired to create my own fanedit tv series.
This is the first fanedit Iāve ever done but at this stage Iāve been working on it for over 2 years plus so have become very familiar with the tools Iām using. If you do happen to find any mistakes or have any feedback youād like to give, please send me a message or post below to let me know.
My Goal with this edit is to address many of the concerns fans have had with this series. Iāve been attempting to reduce the overall ākiddynessā of the show. To achieve this, Iām taking out a lot of repetition when it comes to expositions (this was done initially to help younger kids process what was going on) and a lot more of the overly ācartoonā feeling moments within the show. This has lead me to cutting much dialogue between Zeb and Ezra and some of the more out of character reactions to situations. Iām trying to tighten up the overall story and increase the pace of the show where I can. Iāve completely restructured season 3ās timeline of events and generally try to bolster the character of Thrawn to keep him feeling like a constant threat and acting more competently. Iāve tried to preserve character development and moments as much as practically possible. Iāve cut redundant dialogue: e.g. anything repeated multiple times by different characters or quips and unneeded comments.
Iāve cut episodes: S01E03: Droids in Distress, S01E06: Breaking Ranks, S01E11: Idiotās Array, S02E05: Wings of the Master, S02E06: Blood Sisters, S02E07: Stealth Strike, S02E12: Legends of the Lasat, S03E03: The Antilles Extraction, S03E05: The Last Battle, S03E07: Iron Squadron, S03E11: Ghosts of Geonosis Part 1, S03E12: Ghosts of Geonosis Part 2, S03E13: Warhead (mostly, I use a Thrawn seen from it), S03E17: Secret Cargo, S03E18: Double Agent Droid, S04E03: In the Name of the Rebellion Part 1 and S04E04: In the Name of the Rebellion Part 2. So far, Iāve cut over 9 hours from the show.
Iāve created introduction texts for every episode written in the style of opening crawls and with the visual appearance like the āa long time ago, in a galaxy far far awayā text. These helps me convey story beats, events between episodes, passage of time, plot setup, and some various other things depending on the episode.
Iāve also added additional visual effects to Jedi Temple visions/scenes on Lothal as I believe these didnāt feel mystical enough. Iāve removed Sabine from an episode she was previously in. Iāve changed the Benduās look when he becomes a force storm so heās not a giant face inside a storm. Now, he is just a storm until he gets shot down. I occasionally add to the audio by adding sound effects or by removing lines from scenes.
Unfortunately, when I first started this project I did not take notes of what I cut and what Iāve changed. From V4 onwards I have taken notes. However, this does not cover the majority of the changes Iāve made for the show in the first two seasons. I will have full notes of whatās included for seasons 3 and 4.
This project is currently mostly completed in 1080p 5.1 sound. V4 provides 4K recolor, 1080p recolor and 1080p download options all with 5.1 sound. I feel the 4K color correction version will be the best version of the edit once itās complete as thatās what my recolor is designed for. The colors shift when going through the upscale process and it desaturates the colors slightly.
If youāre at all interested in this project PM me for the spreadsheet link! Any and all feedback/ideas are appreciated!
Iāve been trying to provide more flexibility in terms of download links the spreadsheet. Iām beginning the process of having an all V4 1080p Recolors in GoogleDrive, Mega and Telegram, all download options will always be in Terabox due to it allowing me 1TB free storage. Iām hoping this provides everyone with the most flexibility and choice when it comes to downloading/steaming my edit.
This project is currently mostly in 1080 and 4k Resolutions with 5.1 sound. Episodes in season 4 are stereo 1080p.
The complete version is V3, however it lacks polish and doesnāt align 100% presentations wise with V4.
There are 1080p (no recolor), 1080p (recolor) and 4K (recolor) options available for download.

Season 1 Episode 0 - Dark Force Rising - Review
Context:
The Tarkovsky Clone Wars series has always been something that has interested me however, Iāve always found myself
unable to enjoy my time watching it. I think this boils down to a few factors: 1. Binge watching the series is not
how the series was intended to be watched and 2. I never grew up watching it. Watching most sections here felt quite
fresh and new to me because of this.
Opening:
Unlike the rest of the series, we donāt have the blue text following the title crawl for context. Instead, we have a voice over sequence from Yoda. This acts similar to the blue text of subsequent episodes in this series, however itās clear an important distinction has been made as this is the first we see of the clone wars in this series. Instead of the text, EddieDean has used a speech from Yoda about how the war has impacted the Jedi while showing battle scenes. It is extremely fitting. We get the ever-present themes within the clone wars explored and explained from the word go!
As with my last review the changes made to the title crawl and credits are fitting and welcomed.
The Edit:
The core idea of taking Tarkovskyās series and attempting to integrate it as supplementary material for the 3d animated
series is genius. The 3d series lacks strong introductions for Ventress and Grevious and incorporating this into
the broader clone wars story helps to increase the stakes of the war and further improves upon the original 3d series.
The Tarkovsky series I imagine would take a great deal of thought and effort to edit, given itās intense focus on action and itās minimalist take on dialogue. The flow and pacing of this edit has been significantly improved for both single and binge viewing. Instead of a multitude of micro-series episodes, it feels like one congruent modern form tv show episode.
The core arch of Anakin becoming knighted is maintained and still comes across amazingly! Better then the original in my opinion! (But, that could just be because of the changed style of viewing here) In short, its great!
Impression:
Initially I was reluctant to view this episode, as stated in my context I never had much experience with the Tarkovsky
series due to my lack of enjoyment from it. As soon as I viewed episode 1 of this edit that all changed and I went right back and watched this episode and Iām glad I did.
EddieDean fantastic work here! For two experiences in a row youāve taken star wars fans who didnāt necessarily enjoy the original content but have thoroughly enjoyed your edits! Iām looking forward to reviewing episode 2 š
Oh and, happy star wars day! š
Season 1 episode 1 review.
Context:
Iāve been looking for an easy to digest version of the clone wars in order to have an enjoyable experience watching it with my girlfriend (who wasnāt a big fan of the art style nor character changes away from the prequel characterisations) after numerous attempts to watch the Clone Wars Movie with her, sheās finally enjoyed herself!
Review:
The Modern framing (e.g. Lucasfilm crawl, opening text, clone wars logo, episode title and credits):
Wow! Letās just say from the Lucasfilm logo to the episode beginning it feels like heart has gone into this. Not using a classic star wars text crawl but keeping blue text for quick context was a stroke of genius. It helps keep a feeling of connectedness to the broader story while also letting the viewer know this will be a bit different. No noticed grammatical errors and overall just the right amount of context to setup the initial episode. It really does feel like the opening to a modern star wars show.
Using the concept art in the credits is just delightful. It might just be my love of the arts but itās always nice to see more art mediums included and overall just a wonderful choice!
These additional changes and additions are so unnecessary for a fanedit but it sets such a great quality standard. From the very beginning of watching this series I am seriously impressed!
The edit:
Way better then the original movie! The tone here feels so much more like the movies, it stripped some of the childishness and has in my girlfriendās own words made Ashoka at this stage in her arch ānot annoying!ā The cuts are seamless, we naturally flow from scene to scene and donāt waste any time. As George would say itās faster and more intense. And here atleast, that is the right choice.
Impression:
I am hyped! So excited to keep watching whatās been made. Especially knowing how much better the original clone wars series becomes after the first few seasons!
Itās nice to see the best and worst parts of clone wars handled with such care and presented well.
Would love to watch your Mando series, sounds and looks incredible! Could I have a link PMād? š
