I’m still working away at this episode! Sorry about the delay, I had a power outage which lost me about a week’s worth of masking lightsabers frame by frame 😭 but I’ve redone all that work and more. I’m hoping it won’t be long now until I get s2e10 back out!

Armorer states beskar is made for armor not weapons, Din states the dark saber is made of a beskar? I would omit the line of what it is made of, especially if later on you still plan to include moff crushing it.
This actually makes sense. The weapon on the darksaber is the lightsaber blade not it’s casing. She also states the reasoning is BC the spear can pierce beskar armour and when she breaks it down, it’s just the tip. The beskar on the Saber is, in a sense, acting as armour. It would stop other Saber opponents from cutting or breaking it easily.
In terms of Gideon crushing it, that still does make sense as he’s in an exo skeleton to increase his strength as well as all beskar armour himself. Although, I do think it was a poor decision to have him destroy the darksaber haha.
I’ve been using TeraBox for my edit, it’s full of ads and isn’t too user friendly but it’s a free terabyte of cloud storage.
That being said, I do get a lot of DMs about people who want the edit being confused. And I try provide a more known alternative for those sceptical of or unable to use TeraBox.
The limits on mega can be avoided if you use an internet downloader rather then Megas download software itself or in built browser downloaders.

However, my biggest challenge has been his AI lines. I have not found any way to recreate his unique voice, and I’m not sure anyone else has either. I posted on one of Eddie’s threads about it, but if anyone has successfully made an AI Boba model, I would love to hear it!

I’ve been playing around with the second temple vision and I wanted to see what everyone thought about this change. Personally, I’ve always hated that Kanan pulls a red lightsaber. I get that it’s intention is to signify darkness and his need to overcome fear (or something like that) but I don’t think it works. A red blade is a symbol of not just the darkness but of the Sith.
I don’t see Kanan falling to darkness, not like a Sith does anyway. So why not make the saber Orange. Given Disney cannon we only really see Baylon and Shin with Orange lightsabers. IF Kanan fell to the dark I would see it as a dark Jedi over Sith, so I think this change works.
Looking at it from outside of Disney canon, the vision is meant to be in the Jedi Temple (I assume) and why would they have red lightsabers just laying around? Anyway let me know what you all think!

Okay, I think I’ve finally cracked it. (But we’ll see what you all think first)
I’ve adjusted the wipe (very slightly) and I’ve smoothed the audio by adding a big drop off in volume once the scene has changed over, leaving quiet audio to slowly fade out to finish the musical phrase.
I’m hoping this resolves the issues of A) The music being too loud, B) The music being too long into the next scene, and, C) Allowing the musical phrase to complete. Because It checks all these boxes I think I’ve got it sorted, but before I release another version of the episode. I’ll check with everyone to make sure it’s fixed!
Atleast were halfway there 😂 it now visually works! Now, it’s just getting the audio to comply.
Checking out your ep 1 update, that wipe works SO much better than the fade. Very nice 😎. I think the music transition there is still off, though. The inquisitor scene’s music lasts for just a little bit too long before fading out. What I’ve done before for wipe transitions is to either have the music fade right when the scene transitions (as long as it doesn’t cut off any melody), or accompany the transition with a subtle sfx.
I’ve played with the transition of the music and I’ve tried that before 😂 because the cut happens right as music swells and there’s no way to avoid this, it sounds much worse to fade it out or cut it off mid crescendo. As it stands the audio from the other scene comes in as the wipe begins, I let the crescendo hit it’s peak and then fade it out. It’s the best solution I can think of to cut these scenes together… Maybe I need to learn how to rescore a scene just for this transition 😂😂😂😂

The cloud vortex and recolor sound like a great idea, but I think a side-by-side comparison is the best way to know for sure.

Oh true 😂 he definitely does give it back as he’s dropped off. Maybe the solution is to find a place earlier in the episode. Perhaps he opens it when he initially steals it?
In terms of episode flow (not having seen the whole thing, just the snippets you’ve provided). It’s a bit clunky if he opens it then immediately returns it.
It’d also be a bit for VFX work, but if you don’t have a battle with the star destroyer, it’d make an impact to see it in orbit from the planet. Even if it was just the shot of the ghost coming down to land. Though, that’s easier said then done!
I’m looking for feedback before I rerelease my the first episode (again).
While chatting with TheDimitrios about his Rebels edit (I recommend checking his progress out and providing feedback!), he gave me the idea of making the cloud vortex as seen in Solo visible in Kessel’s orbit. It’s a small few second shot but I thought the idea was awesome so have done a mockup.
Along with that I’ve recolored the planet slightly to match how it looks in Solo and how we see it in the episode.

What do you think of this inclusion? Should I keep it or should I scrap it?
The next release of this episode should fix that awkward transition at the beginning with the grand inquisitor (I hope).
Intro feedback:
For your intro might I recommend slow-mo or beginning the transitions a bit earlier. It’s a little bit odd (in my opinion) that Sabine just pauses.
Someone on reddit gave me this advice for my edit and now I’ll pass it onto you, to make your logo look more professional when it appears try playing around with the acceleration curves for the start and stop of the zoom.
Skipping Ezra’s capture feedback:
I think the transition to skip Ezra’s capture works quite well! Good thinking! The only thing that doesn’t work (in my opinion) is showing the planet Kessel twice. I don’t think it’s needed in the first appearance, I think you could cut to the planet’s surface and it’d still read, given the crew was just talking about the Wookies.
Does the star destroyer in orbit play a role in the confrontation on Kessel? If not, I find that a bit odd and would recommend taking some space battle footage from an episode you don’t plan on using. That gives more credibility to the job being a trap and setup as well!
Holocron feedback:
Might I suggest showing Ezra opening the holocron at his home after he’s left the Ghost before Kanan appears. I don’t have much problem with where your showing it, it just kind of breaks the moment of that sequence.
