Would you be willing to PM me a link to the edit? Thanks in advance.
Sure thing! PM sent. 😃
Speaking as someone who thinks season 3 of Mando completely dropped the ball. I don’t think you’ve strayed too far from the intentions of the show.
Inserting more of the Mandalorian culture is completely in line with the shows intentions. This season in particular became the season to explore what it means to be Mandalorian. Must they be from Mandalore? Must they fight? Are they a family? Is it about strength, an army, or connection? I think these questions are all explored with the original and are brought out to a much better extent with the changes you’re implementing.
I think what we see in season 3 is a rush to the finish, tapping into ideas but not fully exploring them and that leads us to rushed conclusions. E.g., Din gives the darksaber to Bo because of a technicality and she needed it to recruit her old Mandos. Whereas in your take, the darksaber is returned to Bo because she is the one designed to reunite the Mandalorians. Your take also feels more true to the overarching story of Bo Katarn AND Din. Also having Din tell this story in the critical moment enhances his character and motivations rather then dismissing them as I feel the original did.
I think the difference between the two comes through the exploration of myth (both through your armour scenes and this one) and the commitment to character arks. Your changes keep the essence of the story but enhance character, lore and story telling.
So no, I don’t think you’ve strayed far from the original at all! You’ve clearly got a passion for these changes. I’d trust that instinct and keep pushing your ideas forward!
I think the new lines work VERY well. I don’t think you should cut anything. I honestly don’t mind Din talking for a while here. With all the tension that builds up at the Season 2 Mando finale, we need a strong reason why Din and Bo don’t fight each other and I think this monologue works to explain that on a few levels.
Firstly, this monologue is a fight (both with Bo and the wider Mandalorians), so to cut it down makes the ‘fight’ easier.
Secondly, it helps build Din’s character. He’s no longer just traveling the galaxy solo bounty hunting. He’s lost Grogu by reuniting him with his perceived ‘family’ of the Jedi. He’s now looking to reconcile the Mandalorian’s to fill the void of not having Grogu as his family. Because of this, he’s now willing to lay down his weapons in pursuit of unity and I think this speech conveys that strongly. He wasn’t willing to do this before with Paz Vizsla but he is now. This is development that he completely missed out on in the original season 3 (although, it seems to be what they originally intended for him).
I think your v2 attempt covers everything we need functionally for the story to work AND develops Din further. I think it’s awesome and you should keep it as is 😃
Now that I’ve finished season 2 again, my plan is to apply the 5.1 left leaning audio fix to an older V4 episode as well as adding chapters, both title card options and English Subtitles to their metadata. Then, move on to polish a V3 episode to the V4 standard. That way I’ll be fixing up content I haven’t touched in a while and polishing the series as I go!
So my next episode to rerelease is S01E01 and once that’s out I’ll move onto S03E01.
I’m also adding a Telegram link to the edit (which has been requested). You’ll be able to find the link on the spreadsheet I’ve been sending out. If you don’t have the link to the spreadsheet, I’ve added a .txt file to Google, Mega and TeraBox with the link inside it.
For recolors only:
Episode is essential viewing as it concludes the season and leads into season 3
Unfortunately I don’t think there is.
It needs to happen after episode 4 and before episode 12 of the season to make sense.
For 5, were looking into Ezra’s family and don’t have the crew for most the episode. Maybe it could fit in the start but it doesn’t fit the theme of the episode.
For 6, we’re on a Kanan and Sabine episode.
For 7, we’re on a desperate mission for fuel so they’re is no time for a training break.
For 8, we’ve got an episode for Hera and her family so it doesn’t blend well.
For 9, we’ve got the Zeb and Kallus episode.
For 10, we’re in the Jedi temple and get the original motivation for Kanan to be training Ezra. If it was to fit here it’d have to close the episode which could feel a touch odd.
And finally we’re at 11, where it just breaks the flow of the whole episode if included.
So as much as I think the scene is great, I have setup Ezra’s combat advancements through introduction texts (not ideal but it’s not like it’s missing) and Hera does mention in ep 11 that Kanan has increased Ezra’s training a lot.
The 2 episodes I potentially could include it are 10 and 5. But I’m open to ideas and suggestions! 😄
For recolors only:
Episode is essential viewing as it sets up season 3 and the finale of season 2.
I believe I’ve fixed the left leaning audio that Kestrel pointed out a while back. I managed to work it out after I finally fixed my headphones only putting sound through my left ear. I’ll be implementing the fix in S02E11, and into S01E01 when update it with the fixed transition. I’d love to get feedback (especially from Kestrel) on if this has fixed this issue or not but as it stands, I believe I have. S02E11 will be release in the next few days so keep an eye out!
Goob/Eddie, would you mind sharing an episode poster for S03E03 Pirates of the Outer Rim? The file provided is actually for S03E02b. It’s the only one missing, though many of the episode poster numberings did differ from my saved video files, it was nothing some renaming couldn’t take care of. Thanks!
I’ll make sure Eddie has the files! The numbers are off as it’s how I’ve ordered the edit in Plex 😂
I’ve just finished and release RedHeadJedi Style Custom posters for Plex users, below is a sneak peak.
They should be accessible by all previous links as well 😃
I’ve gotten that section flowing much better AND it’s even shorter! Now the only (some what) problem is where Kanan and Ezra train. If I leave it at the start of the episode it breaks the flow as we had all this buildup to get to the planet, take a training break and then land. I’m currently working out a better place to put it 😃
They’re all done in the style of RedHeadJedi’s custom Star Wars poster collection which ForLightAndLIfe continued. So if you want all of Star Wars in matching posters check out their work!
I’ve been working on a pretty big overhaul for S02E11 - A New Base, I’m now only using 4:02 of footage from S02E19: The Forgotten Droid. I think this vastly improves the episode as a whole (as forgotten droid is just terrible) and still covers the important story beats. The tradeoff is that I’ve had to rely on my intro text to setup some context. I’d be very interested in feedback for this, so I’ve included the first 7ish minutes of the episode in a link below.
I’ve released episode 10 of S2. This is probably my most extensive edit so far (in terms of visual changes). I hope you all like it, I’m excited to move onto other episodes again haha
For recolors only:
Episode is essential viewing as it progresses character arks from the Clone Wars and sets up the finale episode of the season.
A look at the orange lightsaber in action: https://youtu.be/UXmOPrF6hyA
I’m still working away at this episode! Sorry about the delay, I had a power outage which lost me about a week’s worth of masking lightsabers frame by frame 😭 but I’ve redone all that work and more. I’m hoping it won’t be long now until I get s2e10 back out!
Hello there! Could I get a link! Thanks!

Armorer states beskar is made for armor not weapons, Din states the dark saber is made of a beskar? I would omit the line of what it is made of, especially if later on you still plan to include moff crushing it.
This actually makes sense. The weapon on the darksaber is the lightsaber blade not it’s casing. She also states the reasoning is BC the spear can pierce beskar armour and when she breaks it down, it’s just the tip. The beskar on the Saber is, in a sense, acting as armour. It would stop other Saber opponents from cutting or breaking it easily.
In terms of Gideon crushing it, that still does make sense as he’s in an exo skeleton to increase his strength as well as all beskar armour himself. Although, I do think it was a poor decision to have him destroy the darksaber haha.
I’ve been using TeraBox for my edit, it’s full of ads and isn’t too user friendly but it’s a free terabyte of cloud storage.
That being said, I do get a lot of DMs about people who want the edit being confused. And I try provide a more known alternative for those sceptical of or unable to use TeraBox.
The limits on mega can be avoided if you use an internet downloader rather then Megas download software itself or in built browser downloaders.
May I please have a link?

Hi! Any way I could get a link? Thanks!

However, my biggest challenge has been his AI lines. I have not found any way to recreate his unique voice, and I’m not sure anyone else has either. I posted on one of Eddie’s threads about it, but if anyone has successfully made an AI Boba model, I would love to hear it!
I’ve sent you a PM about this! I’ve got an idea on how to pull it off but I’ll let you be the judge on if it works or not hahaha
