Star Tours II: The Adventure Continues soundtrack by Michael Giacchino (Released)
Time

This surface yesterday, so I figured I would make a video and post it here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJuZdICCKDE

"In the Star Tours queue, you walk through the flight terminal for the fictional “Star Tours” travel agency. On the wall is a jumbo-tron playing a loop of travel videos, showing the various destinations you can fly to if you book a vacation with them.

The music here is what accompanies those videos."

its gotta be the first time that Victory Celebration has been re-recorded (with an orchestra)

You could take Cantina band, and make it sound like it is being played on set?

Not sure how I would do that. Again another idea for the "purist" edit.

It should be pretty easy.. Just a bit of reverb, make it mono, and perhaps use low and high pass filters.

I'm up to about 50 mins now. Begining to cut in the alternate cantina scene.

Anybody have a link to 7ish minutes of music that would fit in there?

Something like this? ;)

Bit too overused in a gazillion movies.

I fail to see the relevance.

That said, the theatrical is better, and there's still no necessity for the SE to even exist, and it's still being used in the Lucasfilm bait-and-switch campaign, so that's enough of a mandate for me.

I have to say, I prefer hearing the restored Williams music instead of the constant tracked intro of The Imperial March and having the Han Solo and The Princess theme as Boba Fett escapes out of sync as in the theatrical (where it ends way to early.

Re: music, there's a thread somewhere around here where people were trying to piece together the music Lucas used as temp tracks and music he gave to Williams for inspiration for many scenes.  Lots of interesting stuff.  I'll see if I can find it.

I already posted all the relevant info from that thread in my above post.

Some Stravinski might work too, The Rite of Spring ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1tn7WJ9lRc )

Miklos Rosza's Ivanhoe

Alex North's Cleopatra

Bernard Herrman's Hitchcock scores

Korngold's Sea Hawk/Kings Row

Dvo?ák's New World Symphony

Bruckner’s Ninth Symphony

Pucini's Manon Lescaut's "Intermezzo"

Vivaldi's Winter (it may have been used in the Temp track for the film as well as being in the trailer)

these are just a few pieces to use as a starting point.
