Ugh, the room is spinning....
Ugh, the room is spinning....
Maybe he'll make it into the Special Edition whenever Cameron finds that all the technology is there in the future to make the film he actually intended to make now.
Watching "Gremlins" right now on HD Movies, channel 383 on Dish Network!! Good timing!
ADDITION:
Damn that Phoebe Cates was, and is, one little sex kitten!!!

you're in Avatar?
Of course. Just go to IMDB and look at...
Wait a minute. God damn Cameron! He's worse than Lucas.
ha ha ha ha!!!
I still don't get it. Bunch of idiots, running around on a field, hitting each other, and everybody cheers for a game no one remembers a week later. Okay. Whatever.
Yes, John Tesh is as much country as I am a female Eskimo.
Sorry, hate the guy, but I am a hardcore classic country music fanatic (and bluegrass too!).
Perhaps we are due for a "Pro/Anti John Tesh Discussion" thread?

And I have my ticket for Friday at 12:15 PM at the Chicago Navy Pier IMAX. I'll definitely post my thoughts after I see it.
Thanks for that. I've heard so much complaining about this movie from people who haven't even seen it yet.
We don't have to see Avatar to have valid reason to be pissed about it. It exists to promote an annoying fad. It tries to push cartoonish cgi people as part of a real live action reality (Jar Jar echoes). And now we have Cameron talking political preaching with regard to it and telling us it's supposed to preach that stuff. That's plenty reason to be annoyed with it without having seen it. And we have the media bombarding us with promotion for it and trying to program us into thinking that Avatar is The Greatest Thing Ever and that we MUST see it. It's annoying.
I second that motion.

It often feels like people get offended, or outright disgusted when they hear I don't like sports.
Try living in Texas, some people seriously look at me like I'm a martian when I say I hate sports, including football.
Freezing whiskey!! I still cannot get over how mad a man must be to do that!!

my stock of frozen whiskey !
OMG!!! You are a horrible, horrible man!!! Violating the great innocence of whiskey with -30°F temperatures!!!
I hate sports, I played some when I was a kid, but never ever understood the hype. Being a Texan, I've been told that my hatred of sports is blasphemy, perhaps. But I just don't get it and I quite honestly don't understand these guys who could tell you every name of every player in any league. They can tell you who won what last weel, last year, last decade. They can get all drove up about a some game on tv, but they can't name their US Rep or Senatore, don't know the difference between a Conservative and Liberal, don't know anything about how laws are made. Just kind of makes me wonder where their priorities are.

You and I share excellent observational skill, but yours is completely opposite of mine.

Looks like ABC is hijacking Ric Olie's observation thread.
See? This directionnal matter is the heart of this thread. So there's no hijicking, unless you mean from exterior to interior. We can't be closer to the original subject here.
And even if, what do you read Ferris:

- The Ric Olie Observations Thread

?
You got me. You're right.
Yes, polluting good whiskey with ice is a sin. Buffalo Trace is the best there is.
Although he and I don't see eye to eye at times, Nanner is pretty damn funny and anyone who places him on ignore can potentally deprive themselves of some hilarity.
I agree with Frink, VINH's non-use of quote boxes is confusing.
BTW, I hope Avatar goes down in flames!!
mmmmmm.....whiskey!

Thanks Jay, really glad to see the ol' petition come back. Hopefully, ol' Georgey heeds to our wishes this time.
Jimmy Stewart is probably one of the best actors of the 20th century, hands down. It's a shame they don't make'em like that anymore.
Of my list, I usually watch three or four of each at least every year, making the rounds to every one every three years. Bad Santa just made it on the list, of course, it may have to drop off for a few years when my baby girl starts getting older, maybe even now. I'm the youngest of the bunch at 30 years old and we're all pretty much cops (Dad, Mom, 2 brothers, and a cousin) so we really enjoy raunchy stuff like that.
It's A Wonderful Life
A Christmas Story
Scrooged
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
Gremlins
The Santa Clause (Tim Allen, the original is the best)
Die Hard
Miracle on 34th Street (either original or remake)
Bad Santa
How The Grinch Stole Christmas (orignal cartoon)
Avatar looks like a stupid, too long, cartoon. I hope it sinks. Mostly because I see acting as a wonderful art, and it seems my generation has ran that great art into the ground with CGI, bad story lines, and bad acting. From the previews I've seen, this movie has all three, which is why I am boycotting it. But that is just my opinion.

If any of you are using Firefox, you can use an add-on called "NoSquint", you can enlarge the whole page or just the text. Works great! I only have about one inch of border on both sides of my page. with a 120% increase of the entire page.
Firefox has its own zoom.
View > Zoom > uncheck "Zoom Text Only"
True dat!
