Happy 80th Birthday, Sir Sean Connery (Aug. 25th)
Time

Connery is one of my top 6 favorite real men, only following John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Charles Bronson, Steve McQueen, and Lee Marvin, . Which makes me beg the question, why the hell are there so many wussies nowadays. Used to be that actors had to be manly to get anywhere, now we got these little girly type guys like Tom Cruise, Orlando Bloom, Daniel Radcliffe, Shia Labeouf, Tobey Mcguire, etc. All are big time wussy types, I miss the good ol' gruff tough guy, hard living man actors which I aspired to be like growing up. Now they're all touchy feely, "let's talk about our emotions" bullcrap wimps.

Oh yeah, Connery is #1 Bond, Moore #2, Brosnan #3. I do not like this Craig, and I always thought Dalton was just a joke that the producers of 007 made up.

They changed the recipe to Ranch Style Beans, pisses me off. Now they're firmer, less spiced up, and generally just nasty. I wrote an email to Conagra and they replied by sending a coupon for more Ranch Style Beans, bastards.

lolz.

Nice to know it's not just me!

Me too!! I used to love to nuke a bowl of Ranch Style Beans, get a couple slices of buttered bread, and dig in. My wife always thought I was nuts, but it was the best thing to me, really reminded me of my childhood. Now Conagra as stolen that.

So I've been playing Zelda 2 on NES for a while now, and I don't see why everybody hates on it so much. I LOVE this game!

I liked it too. Been FOREVER since I've played it though, like 18 years at least. I LOVED the original Zelda better than all though. Just thinking about it brings back fond memories of me playing Zelda late, late, late at night in my room back in the 80's.

Fascinating! Being an avid student of history, and continuously fascinated with WWII, this is pretty neat information.

Continuously fascinated?  I call shenanigans.  You want me to believe there's never a moment when you're not fascinated?  Like, say, when you are with your special lady?

Okay you got me.

One of my favorite quotes from one of my favorite movies.

John Gibbons: Mr. Tipton, I see you wear glasses.
Mr. Tipton: Yes I do.
John Gibbons: Could you show those glasses to the court, please? Okay, now were you wearing them that day?
Mr. Tipton: No.
John Gibbons: Uh huh. You see? You were fifty feet away, you made a positive eyewitness identification and-and-and-and-and-and-and YET, you were not wearing your necessary, prescription eye glasses.
Mr. Tipton: They're reading glasses.

RIP.

I am quite familiar with some of his work, and he always did a wonderful job.

Ooh, ooh! My Cousin Vinny!! FTW!!! Great job by Mr. Chaykin.

But if there is no obvious physical peril in the situation why risk creating some for yourself over something that can eventually be replaced or the loss of it rationalised? I can't think of any inanimate object I own worth using violence to protect.

If you can prevent the situation by any non-violent means it makes sense to try but if the theft is going to happen and only an act of violence can prevent it why bother?

The criminal may get caught, or may not, notch it down to experience (sometimes unpleasant things happen).

All I can say is that if some a**hole breaks into my house, or tries to make off with some of my property, there will be hot lead flying close behind him. Fortunately, shooting at thieves is pretty much encouraged in my great state of Texas.
