Man, that was a great line that has been absolutely ruined by everyone running it into the ground.

And I thought I was being clever.

Maybe way back in 2017…

Ah, back when I looked forward to Last Jedi.
Those were the days.

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

So I’m currently reading The Princess, the Scoundrel and the Farm Boy and it got me thinking of a couple things that could be introduced into the movie. During the chapter where Alderaan has just been disintegrated, there was a description of planetary debris drifting past the Death Star, but in a molten form. I’ll go back into the book and get the exact description.

And atm I’m reading through Han’s arc and at that moment where the Falcon comes out of hyperspace, there was a mention of them avoiding the remains of Alderaan’s demise - as if we could actually see the Falcon weaving around a few fragments.

I’m sure the book has been referred to as canon now.

There is some good stuff in there. I liked how one additional sentence explained the whole Obi-Wan not recognizing R2 thing.

It wasn’t retconned, it’s pretty ambiguous. There wouldn’t even be anything for ady to do about that.

the only real Rebels suggestion should be to put the Ghost into the space battle.

It is official cannon that that’s Rex now.
I personally would get a kick out of seeing the Ghost or any nod to rebels in ROTJ:R-but don’t expect it.

RE: Editing / jumps between the three sequences of ROTJ’s climax.

I recently listened to a Rian Johnson podcast where he spoke about editing TLJ

Why would you use TLJ as a source for editing tips? I don’t want this to turn into a slag off session of TLJ but apart of some question plot decisions (Leia flying), the editing department was what really let the movie down.
Now I liked the climactic battle between Ray, Kylo and the guards but I hated that every time I got invested in it, it cut away. If you are going to cut from a tense moment, it’s best to cut to another tense moment and keep going back and forth regularly to give a sense of urgency. Other wise you should leave it to play out in full, but that is less effective if the situation is meant to be a climax, as it makes it makes it appear to happen sequentially rather than concurrently.

Oh my god, thanks so much for your valuable insight. What would adywan have done without you? Thought that TLJ was good? Try to change ROTJ to be better? You’re a real hero!

The rude sarcasm seems a bit uncalled for.

Agree to disagree!

This just doesn’t seem the thread for someone’s hot takes on a movie that isn’t the movie being discussed here.

He was using said movie to explain his position on re-editing the movie being discussed here. It wasn’t off topic and was directly responding to the discussion. There’s no need to be rude because someone doesn’t share your subjective opinion.

Disagree.

Wait now I’m confused.

Darth Vader is Luke’s dad.

Best place to look for JEJ quotes is him narrating The Bible. I’d imagine it’s the largest available source.

No good, every time he has the opportunity to say “your mother” he says “thy mother”. Could be used as another source to get the word “mother” though.

I guess I don’t understand why this would be worthwhile.

It’s something Adywan said he was considering and I’m on board for that change. He’s fixed mistakes that are less blatant than this one. Obi Wan never once even attempted to turn Anakin back from the Dark Side. It was Padme that tried. The great way James Earl Jones delivered the line shows Luke touched a nerve. But as is, the line doesn’t coincide. Though changing it to “Your Mother once thought as you do,” ties the trilogies together. And I really like the idea of showing Vader think back to his last moments with Padme while he’s talking to their son.

I’ve been on the hunt hoping to find a shot of James Earl Jones saying the words “Your Mother”. So far no luck, but he does say “Mother of God” clearly in The Hunt for Red October. I don’t know crap about audio editing, but Vader says “You’re feelings have now betrayed her too”. Wonder if those words can be strung together to make the line “You’re Mother once thought as you do,” without it sounding like the Joshua war computer form War Games.

Adywan mentioned he was going to tweak or re-do the Super Star Destroyer crashing into the Death Star II. Stumbled across this video & thought I’d share it-

Also, any thoughts in adding some star ship debris to the space battle?

And, can we get an update on you reaching your $6000 goal?

I wish Luke, Han and Leia would still be seen together in the ending.
Since it’s much more sad in hindsight in The Force Awakens, since that would be the last time they were together in a main movie.

I do agree. Though I liked the TFA & TLJ, that is something that really bothers me. We’ve waited 30 years for Star Wars 7, we finally get it, but we never get to see Luke, Han, & Leia together again- even for just one scene. I remember reading that JJ said that was by design, that by Kylo killing (spoiler warning) Han, Kylo took that reunion away from the fans. That was a bad call, because no matter how much I enjoy the new films, there will always be a part of me that’s unsatisfied.

You can have female pilots, as long as they don’t get paid the same as the male pilots.

Lol. Don’t forget they also need a long group of scenes showing exactly how they got all their training.

That’s what’s missing from Star Wars, an 80’s training montage to the song “You’re The Best Around”.
