More than likely it was just intended it to be one big planetary shield, and it just wasn’t shown correctly with the rebel hologram. You could still have a shield gate for access to Endor.
When Luke looks out the window from the Death Star, the barricade of Star Destroyers positioned to keep the rebels from escaping doesn’t seem to cover much area. Even from Lando’s view when he’s looking at the Star destroyers up close it looks like he has plenty of open space below to escape. The rebel ships could simply fly up or down to get away. I always thought it would be advantageous for Admiral Ackbar to watch Wrath of Kahn, where Spock explains space is three-denominational. Moving the space battle closer to Luke’s window and filling the entire screen with Star Destroyers would show that the rebels were trapped with nowhere to go.
Also, this is something blatant that will probably be fixed without me mentioning it, but there is a shot on the speeder bikes where Luke is talking but not saying anything. It looks like a re-use of the shot where he tells Leia “Stay on that one, I’ll take these two.”

Yeah, with the tittle of the thread I thought it was only for the upcoming HD version so I didn’t pay it any mind. I really did waste a lot of time searching for this.

I didn’t read through all 14 pages so some of these ideas on my wishlist may have been already been suggested.
*The shield generator is on the Endor Moon, so maybe on wide space shots add the planet Endor behind the moon.
*If you are adding female rebel pilots, consider re-voicing a stormtrooper, or better yet a biker scout, with a woman’s voice. I wanted to suggest that for ESB:R but it was too late.
*Would also love to see a shield aperture similar to Scarif on the Endor Moon.
*A shot with Tie-Strikers patrolling Endor.
*When you re-do the rebel hanger, a snowspeeder tucked away in a corner half covered with a tarp would be a nice tie in to ESB. Colonial Viper would be a cool Easter egg.
*Shots of rebel gunners in the Millennium Falcon.
*See different angles of the Death Star
*fix noticeable back seam on Ewok’s costume

I’m glad you decided to drop the prequels. Those movies can’t be fixed. At least not to what we wanted / expected them to be.
My 2 suggestions to ROTJ-R:
When Vader grabs the emperor, make some of the lighting coming from the emperor reaches Vader (if possible with some sparks from Vader’s device in his chest, to suggest it was broken by the lighting). This way it gets more clearer Vader’s sacrifice and why he died (saving Luke cost him his life support). The way it is now in the movie it seems like he “lost his will to live” 😉
I think Luke should have gone back to Yoda to finish his training after ESB:R. Between the ESB and ROTJ Luke finished his training. While that was happening, the empire chased the rebels and when ROTJ begins, they are in really bad position, with the empire close to a final victory. That will increase the drama in ROTJ. A new crawl can set this to the audience.

They mention the Death Star coming out of Hyperspace-I would have really liked to have seen that. Hyperspace warps space, so I assume you don’t really have to be fast to go through Hyperspace.
Any chances you will update planet by Death Star to match RO’s Scarif? Maybe debri from the two star destroyers. Just a thought.

Scarif is not the planet where the Death Star was built.
Rogue One ends just 20 minutes before Star Wars. Why would the Death Star return back to where it was built.

Just watched SW:R again-I don’t think I’ll ever have any desire to watch any other version. One thing that still bugs me is Vader’s Tie Fighter and two escorts. The three stiff ships were clearly filmed attached together. Have you ever considered tweaking the motion of the two escorts so they all look independent of each other?
That’s too bad. I appreciate your effort and hard work to try to make this happen.
But now it’s just one more thing to look forward to when you do your The Empire Strikes Back: Revisted: 20th Anniversary Special Edition. 2037 will be here before you know it.
