The Official 2006 Discs Will Be No Better Than What We Have!
Time
One thing no one as pointed out yet is that the 1997 and 2004 versions were actually censored slightly now I don't know if it was just here in the UK or if it was done to all countries, things like laser shots hitting imperial officers if I'm not mistaken. Now I wonder if LFL is going to put those edits into the OOT release? I think I'll wait until someone has gone through these dvd's with a fine toothed comb before I shell out my hard earned.

Any thoughts on what's out there? I've seen a few "5-Star Collection" up on Ebay. How do they stack up?

I'm hoping to get the three 1997 SE films with their trailers and the "making-of" docs as extras. Is there anything like that out there now?

allegedly done by the same people who did dual layer silvers of the Indy trilogy (which I have) if they did as good a job as those they should be very watchable.

Presumptions are pointless at this stage, but moaning on about light saber colours and will they get the saturation right etc, is pointless. We don't have a frame of reference for any of these things anymore, as no one has seen the originals in the theatres in years. If you can remember what the colours were like when you last saw the OOT in theatres your a better man than me.

I like 'em both :)

As far as I'm aware DD 5.1 didn't hit the theatres until Batman Returns in 1992 although I may be wrong on that. either way it didn't exist when Star wars came out in '77 so I'd vote for the mainstream format for sound which was probably the stereo soundtrack. As far as your other questions go these have been covered so many times on this board that you should be able to find your answers without much searching

Info Wanted: seeing as the screenshot threads are locked....
Time

…I have a question. Are all the screenshots resized to all the same resolution? If so I think it would be a good idea to leave them in their native res whenever possible as it would give people an idea of the best caps not just for picture quality but also for geometry. As an example I’ve attached a shot of the editdroid anh. As you can see it’s a pretty good cap qualitywise but it is squashed in the verticle axis and uncropped at the sides.
