How to convert AVI to DVD files?
Time
Excellent, nice work. Kinda blows my puny little description out of the proverbial water! lol

I'm glad it works. According to the site, they will be having a "pay" version with more options, but I highly suggest getting the free version, if for nothing else than to try it, or have it as an option. I also like the opportunity to easily convert PAL to NTSC, as my father's DVD player tends to get picky with PAL transfers, and I hate getting that phone call from him.

I've used this program forever, but I never see anybody else mention it. It's free, for now, so grab it quick. All you do is choose the avi or divx file, tell it the output location, and in about an hour you have a VIDEO_TS folder ready for burning without any visible quality drop that I have ever noticed. I have a 52" DLP HD and I have no complaints on the quality whatsoever.

Once you have your VIDEO_TS foled, burn it to dvd, and add any DVD-ROM content you'd like.

Okay, this is wierd. I was just scrolling down to see a post where I could ask this exact freakin question and found this. I just got back from Home Depot where I bought some very thin plexiglass/plastic. I'm going to try 2 versions, 1 with the plastic, and 1 where I'm just going to use a shoebox chopped and reglued to size. If anybody has already done this, I know I for one would love any tips. As for glueing the artwork on, I've always had excellent results from using simple spray adhesive, since you get a very even cover that doesn't drip, and it bounds like iron. I'm going to give it a whirl this week, I'll check back for tips or let you know how it works on my end.

Thanks for the welcome! You are correct about the quality of the set. I purchased this early on in my "first steps into a larger world", and got what I paid for. The covers looked like something a parent of a 3 yr old has hanging on their fridge. I already grabbed a number of the extra DVD's you had posted at MySpleen, and I have currently been torturing my wife by making new covers and laying them all over the living room floor to dry. As soon as I can, I'll double check to make sure there isn't anything different on my cheap set, but I doubt it. As much as I've been enjoying this site, myspleen, and all the discs I've acquired, I definitely will be donating to the respective causes to help keep things going.

If anybody else has this turd and wanted a cover for it, I made one that looks decent, I'm just not sure how to post any of my stuff here. Send me a message if anybody wants it.

Thanks again folks, and I'm sure I'll be talking to you all again, I plan on hanging around for awhile!
(....unless my wife says something different.....)

****EDIT*****
It truly is amazing what spending 10 secs on Google can do for your knowledge base. Here is a small version of the cover for the 3 disc extras set. It's like putting a bow on a pig, but I have photoshop, spare time, and extra ink and paper. what can you do.....

Wow. All I can say is Thank You to all the great stuff you guys put out here. I've been floating around here awhile without posting, but I couldn't hold off any longer. I feel like I've found my people! I recently download a number of movies from myspleen for a birthday gift/project for my nephew, so I haven't seeded nearly as much as I've leeched, but I plan on keeping all items seeding for as long as anyone needs. My cable connection is unused most of the day while I'm working, so might as well give some back!

I also purchased a 2 DVD/1VCD set from EBay entitled "The Archive Collection" about 2 years ago. it contains:

DISC ONE

1. The Making of Star Wars (1977)Presented by C3PO and R2D2
2. The Making of the Empire Strines Back Presented by Mark Hamill 1978
3. The Making of Return of the Jedi (1983) with Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher
4. 15 Original Trailers from the # Vintage Films
5. The ABC’s of Jedi Effects with Dennis Muren of ILM
6. The Star Wars Trilogy - War Stories- Interview withGeorge Luucas
7. The Star Wars Picture Gallery with Ralph McQuarrie, Chief Artist
8. Archive Adventure - A guided Tour through the props at Lucasfilm
9. How Walkers Walk - Original Stop Motion footage from ESB
10. Jabba’s Palace Let’s Dance! - Extended Version of Max Rebo LIVE!
11. Flight Through the Asteroids - Storyboards, Miniatures, Animations, and More

DISC TWO

The Forgotten Scenes-

An extended presentation of over 40 deleted scenes from Original Trilogy. Most of
these have not been seen before. Proffesionally made, this DVD is a must have for
any Star Wars fan.

DISC THREE

This VCD includes an alternate ending for Return of the Jedi in workprint form,
four deleted scenes from A New Hope, and many, many auditions from the 1975
casting auditions for the main roles. Includes footage of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher
and Harrison Ford.

It seems to be just a repacking of precviously available extras. i just wanted to make sure I wasn't holding on to something that might be interseting to somebody. Just let me know!

Thanks again, and I promise I'll be a good little seeder!!

Greetings from Wookie Groomer; Split Screen Project (Released)
Time
Wholly sweet mother of God. I may never go to another webiste for the rest of my life. Forgive typos, it's hard to see through my tears of joy. This is my first post, and I just want to say thanks so much to everyone here and their hard work. I love the splitscreens, and the posted label here is great! I made up 1 for empire and 1 for jedi to use until the "official" ones are posted here. They are not perfect in anyway, and I am NOT trying to replace or compete with the previous post. I just wanted to make some for myseld, stealing the idea, and I will burn a new copy and replace these with the correct labels when they appear here. **crosses fingers*** I hope this is not against any manners or rules, I just wanted to help anybody else wanting temp labels. Thanks again!!
