Batman Forever - Dark Knight Edition (Released)
Time

Did alittle digging and found a comic book forum where Drake Retro still posts. Evidently this topic came up.

Here is what he had to say...

Wow...

I regret the day I ever mentioned this to anyone on the internet.
It seems no matter where I go, I am found and asked about this.

NO. I don't have access to the edit. I wish I did. The one person who was going to give me a copy got pissed ( out of nowhere ) after I posted a screencap of the edit. This person started blocking my emails soon after. Ever since I have been called so many names on boards like Superherohype, Basically had my screen-names @ SHH, BOF and personal email accounts stalked by crazy fanboys. Demanding for me to show the edit or "be sorry", seriously someone actually said that.

Look, the story goes like this. I was at a party in L.A. about 2 years ago. Late in the night ( around 2am ) I went into a room where people where watching Batman Forever.
Only the strange thing was it had music from the Burton films. ( Being very familiar with Elfman's scores, I also noticed that some of the tracks were from the batman trilogy cd. Which were re-recordings) It was near the start of the film, so I asked if anyone minded if we could restart it. Everyone was cool about it, and it started over.

It basically restored the original timeline from the script (using what material was available), and added in Elfman's score. The color was altered a little, but the look of forever was still intact. Not much you can do about neon. Some of the less overblown, less campier tracks from Forevers score were left in tact.

I was told the editor ( who was at the party, but I never found out who he was ) gave out 10 copies of them. I was also told the film was edited on an professional avid system. The guy who was showing his copy ( the one I was watching )
offered to make me a copy. This was also the guy who gave me the screencap. I told him the online fans had been dying to see this and it should be shared with them. He thought it would be a good idea too.
I offered to make and print a custom dvd cover in trade for a copy of the edit.

I started posting info on various fan edit sites. Soon after my contact started acting strange, not wanting to share his copy.

I never heard from him again...

My guess is the editor found out about me posting stuff online and got pissed.
My trail has gone cold, and that's that. I'm legit, many people can vouch for that.
It's just, well I got nothing more to share...

I too hope it comes to light one day.

There is no doubt BF lost a a great deal by not having Elfman's Bat theme.

i do NOT agree with that,E.G made a great fanfare for Batman.

For the way the film ended up going, I agree with you. But as a 3rd chapter in the batman story ( which from my understanding is what TDKE was trying to do), the film looses alot by not using elfmans theme. I never said Goldenthals music was bad, his batman theme is actually pretty good.

If 45 mins of deleted material was cut, far less than half appeared on the dvd. I think it's around 13 mins. Which even if it was all put back into the film, there is no way 30 mins could have been deleted from BF and have a 125mins runtime.

As stated before, The original post said the runtime was 125 mins, even with the deleted scenes put back in, there is no WAY 30 mins were removed for TDKE. Also from doing some research on this recently, I don't think the intention was to make Batman Forever a Tim Burton film, but rather too make it feel like part of the series in connection to the other 2 films. There is no doubt BF lost a a great deal by not having Elfman's Bat theme.

From what I understand. The Dark Knight Edition did not have 30mins removed.

The original posting stated that the edit was 125mins, How could it have had 30mins removed?

Batman:The Dark Knight has 30 mins removed from what I understand.

I'm pretty sure the ebay auction is Batman:The Dark Knight. With the guy selling it either not knowing the difference between the two, or trying to take advantage of people.

James Bond 007 WARHEAD (* unfinished project *)
Time

The film was made in 1993, He is obviously a lot younger than the bond in 02. Plus the themes of the story are very early 90's with the Russian connection. I wish I wouldn't have announced this yet, only because I think it's going to take a little longer than expected. I recently got involved into a lot of work and it will be the fall at earliest before I can tackle this. Glad to see people are excited about it though.

Phineasbg/ HIGHLANDER II: Extended Versions (Released)

Hey, I like your cover. The original highlander 2 poster has always been one of my favs.

Just my opinion here but,You might want to clean up the poster art alittle. To make the black more even.I'd use the level and burn tools, just a touch to get the darker aspects of the poster to match the spine/back's black level.

And I love the fact you used the original U.S. title treatment. Cleaned it up a great deal too. Looks good.

I have no problems with you using the thumbnails of my designs. I think that's fine.

I would prefer that my artwork not go into Champagne's pocket. There is no doubt he has a nice product. From what understand, ( not from personal experience, please correct me if I am wrong) he has used peoples fan art without permission in the past. I don't have a problem with him using art for fan projects ( which is what we all do ), but the moment he makes a dime off of it, that is where I have a problem with it. I make art for projects the studio won't release to be FREELY traded between fans. Not for bootlegs or someone else's product based off things they don't own. But when I made artwork for this (and other) projects, it's released to the world. I can't stop anyone from getting a case made. I hope they turn out nice.
