I'm frustrated, rather than hostile, because I find it hard to work out what you're saying half the time because you rarely write in sentences, which makes it harder to get your tone, which I often find brusque.  I saw that post but wasn't sure whether you were obliquely saying that we were barking up the wrong tree or suggesting a course of action.  Obviously, it's now clear that it's the former.

That is one of the most insulting things I have ever read, you trumped up little child.

_,,,^..^,,,_ said:So nor it is any HDTV version, isn't true?

Of course!  Perhaps I should have said: "...any version we currently have..."  I'll edit my post.  My point is that none of us, as far as I am aware, are in a position to know what the original colors were, so there are no "right" colors to which we have access.  We either keep the colors of the new cap, which will undoubtedly be the main source for a custom version, or correct it to give an aesthetically pleasing (but not theatrically accurate) result.

That was kinda my point, I remember it being more Cameron blue (not TEAL!) than brown of the HDTV

Or one of you nice americans could try for these http://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-ABYSS-WRITTEN-DIRECTED-BY-JAMES-CAMERON-SET-OF-60-FILM-CELLS-/121096851139?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c31ef4ec3

AMC Theaters participated in a 25th anniversary event in October 2010 - I believe I have a special poster that was either given out or sold. How do we know that wasn't the DCP? It certainly wasn't film - the only other possibility would have been Blu-ray.

The version shown there had the "squeezed" end credits - does this alleged DCP version?

The UK DCP had the DNR of the disc

but don't believe the dcp source lie.

So what's the source?

the person who originally created and shared this release didn't reveal it, possibly to protect his source. it's only known that the wowow cap is based on the same source.

Interesting! I wonder if he/she has access to BttF2 and 3 as well.

So it is from a D1 maybe?

Definitely not D1. D1 is strictly for SDTV/Rec. 601.

Well not D1 but its equivalent in the HD era I have no idea of the name for.

It makes sense, as like I said if the DCP encryption was cracked we would know about it
