Complete SW soundtrack box set: vinyl, CD and apparently hi-res

In my opinion, it depends on how you want to listen to them. If you're in a recording studio with perfect speakers, you'll want lossless. If you're in a car or at home listening casually, a CD will be just fine. If you're listening on in-ear headphones while you're jogging, MP3 is fine.

Digital Bits has some more... bits:

And in other news, Sony Music and Sony Classical have just announced that they’re re-issuing all 6 of John William’s classic Star Wars film soundtracks on vinyl box set (SRP $229.98), CD/DVD box set ($74.98), and lossless digital download (192kHz/24bit – no lossless download link is yet available, but we suspect HD Tracks and Pono Music will have it available). There’s also a “Mastered for iTunes” version available on iTunes for $49.99. Worldwide street date for all is 1/8/2016.

So vinyl, CD, lossless, and iTunes. If those CD cases are like the Beatles releases where they're miniature versions of the original soundtracks, I might have to get them.

Damn to the depths of hell the idiots who are responsible for this ludicrous display of poor taste.

That would be Bill Prady, late 80s Muppet writer turned Big Bang Theory creator. I honestly was going to lay into him, but I didn't know he actually worked with Henson and wrote the memorial special after he died. I didn't find the new show to be as awful as I feared. I'll give it another couple episodes, see if it can actually move from "not awful" to "actually made me laugh". Maybe if it wasn't focused on Kermit and Fozzie's dating drama (not to each other) and was just about the writer's room, because I'd watch Gonzo, Rizzo, and Pepe all day.

That has been a long time in the making and all the drama that surrounded it eventually being acquired.

A milestone indeed. Well done! Is it the actual sculpture you got modified, or totally a scratch built new sculpture?
Scratch built. See the Wordpress for more pictures.

I'm 10000% sure this has already been covered, but it's easier to just ask than search through 1276 pages - when Vader turns around to talk to Veers just before the Hoth battle and the camera does the awkward pan... did ady say whether or not he'd fix this?

Cheers
The shot where Vader spins around and Veers is RIGHT THERE and I like to imagine if Vader had had his arm out to point at him it would have knocked Veers over and it makes me laugh?

No, I don't think he's going to fix that.

Info: Press coverage of Harmy's Despecialized Editions

There's probably going to be more and more press about fan edits as December approaches. Should I start a topic to collect it?

Should I order us a pizza? I already did.
You think about everything.

But seriously, articles really aren't anything to worry about. On the other side of franchises, "Star Trek: Axanar" has been getting a ton of press for raising a crap ton of money and the articles all end with "Why doesn't CBS do anything about this?". Sure, these articles advocate piracy of a sort, but at least they're not about how much money Harmy has raised to make it and why doesn't Disney try to stop him.

Blog software preferences, if you have any.

If you want your own domain, you have to get it hosted somewhere outside of Wordpress.com. I've never migrated anything from the free wordpress.com to a domain, but I imagine it would be simple.

I'll go ahead and give you my examples:

http://doubleofive.wordpress.com is my simple blog, doesn't do much, if anything.

http://www.gingerthreads.net is my wife's shop. It's a WP instance hosted on JustHost. Change of template, some free addons, it's like a completely different thing.

I use WordPress, both the .com free hosting and the plug-in on actual paid hosting. WP has a crazy amount of plugins that you can do pretty much whatever you want with a basic theme on the hosted version. The free version is enough to get news out there (see the SWR blog).

As for hosting, I use JustHost for the business pages I've set up. The price is decent and they have some easy-to-use tools for your domain email and backup. And WordPress (and other formats) is just a button push away from installation.
