“The book is a reprint of the Star Wars Legends novel Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (junior novelization), which was written by Ryder Windham, edited by Egmont editor Emil Fortune to make the book fit with the current new canon.”

That’s wild and also insane. What would they have to change of junior novelizations of the OT to make them canon? Without any further explanation, I wouldn’t trust Wookieepedia on this.

I think you’re talking about the same thing, but with different cover images. The “new” ones aren’t “official” canon either, they were reprinted with different covers, so they may have just not bothered updating the digital versions.

Makes sense to me. More sense than the same guy rewriting his junior novelizations 13 years later.

These were the thoughts I was left with from the other night, after we watched an interminably long preview sequence before the movie started. The only one I can remember was the preview for Thor: Ragnarok. Honestly, it looked like one of the worst pieces of shit I have ever seen put on a movie screen. But it’s not a singular failure that deserves to be singled out and mocked or derided. The movie looks like literally every action or adventure flick that is put in theaters these days.

I know, all these goddamn movies with their goddamn Valkyries flying out of a wormhole towards Cate Blanchett playing the Goddess of Death.

Say what you will about Marvel movies*, but Ragnarok is at least visually interesting.

*actually, don’t

That’s all right. I’d like to keep it on manual control for a while.

Was that creative license or did you have a source? Because I always thought R2 was saying something like ‘it’ll take me some time to calculate the jump to light speed’, like Dagobah is really out of the way, and R2 isn’t really prepared for such a journey. Then Luke’s reply is like he doesn’t mind the wait. Otherwise how do you ‘manually control’ a hyperspace route? Doesn’t really fit with what we know about Star Wars space travel.

Even so ‘would you like me to take over control?’ is kind of a clumsy sentence, mate!

The source is the Aurebesh on the screen. All of the letters have a direct English translation.

The original version is “gibberish”, Adywan wrote the “dialog” for ESBR.

There is that added shot of the ladies pausing to hear the voice of Lando. It could be redressed so that troopers are pulling guns on them followed by blaster fire but that would a suggestion and we don’t do those any more 😄

I’m almost done building the set out of cardboard, now I need to start building the additional stormtrooper costumes, also out of cardboard.

Here’s the one I already made:

I never heard of anyone having a problem knowing who the Emperor was talking about in all the years prior to the change. The SE additions are just pointless exposition. There is just no need for it.

benduwan, that website you posted those pictures to is horrendous. They’re so small i can even see most of them. But a couple of thing you seem to point out as mistakes aren’t. Like the X-wing engines for one. I have said already that the engines will be their proper colour when i get around to redoing ANH and the Tantive IV engines are an orange colour and not red.

I think i need to clarify something i said though. When i asked for people to point out any mistakes they see in the video, i meant FX errors ( caused by something i have done) , spelling etc, not continuity errors that may or may not still be there. I’m not interested in those. I’ve done all the ones i wanted to or could do.

every time i think i’m going to be able to take this break, i get sucked right back in again. 😉 But that’s it now. Messages and comments will be replied to after the end of this month. I’m taking this last week or so of August off.

i will upload the folder and send you the link.
and thanks for making your second masterpice after swr.
thanks

He’s only interested if they’re related to encoding or error made in editing, not the errors I think you’re pointing out.

Did some translation work.

There’s nothing wrong R2, I’m just setting a new course.

We’re not going to regroup with the others. We’re going to the Dagobah System.

Wow, I just noticed something I personally hadn’t before about the SE (I don’t view it any more than I have to, and got sucked into a clip of Kenobi showing up in SW embedded in some article I was reading), right after Ben says “Hello there” to R2, in the following shot of R2 they totally forgot to add shadowing on him from the stupid rocks… And then the shadowing is back, darker than ever, the very next shot of him… Add in that crazy “Obi-Wan getting a hummer in a back alley of Mos Eisley” yell (my favorite description I’ve heard of it), the whole scene is just bottomless insanity.

Well, I’ll be damned.

If adywan is unable to make the cover for TESB:R due to his health, then what about the other cover artists who created alternative cover artwork for ANH:R: Owen Lars Kenobi, Sky, Savage, Sluggo etc.?

Plenty of covers already out there, find one you like!

To get way ahead of ourselves, has Adywan said anything about what “Some changes to the Special Edition Mos Eisley content” might mean? I suspect that he will want to make the Dewback by the cantina consistent (as the SE reverts to 1977 Dewback when the gang exists). Perhaps a removal of the mirrored stormtrooper?

Anything that might result in even fewer CG creatures and droids will be a plus for me. 😃

I recall the mirrored trooper being high on the list.
