Maybe Ady could start writing a journal of sorts, every night vaguely outlining what he worked on. A post of what Ady is doing everyday would be awesome, and probably help build back up some anticipation for people who have lost a little in the silence.
OR he could keep working on it and giving us updates on his schedule. It's worked for him for 6 years now.

Second, the movie itself lost none of it's charm and epicness for me (and had some extra added on top by the 3D).
Admit it: You just like seeing Kate Winslet's boobs in 3D. ;-)

It's weird, I want to see it, but my wife doesn't. She doesn't want to "spend over $20 to sit in a theater for 3 hours and see a movie we've already seen many times." She just doesn't understand. :-(

"Even with Star Wars finally out on Blu-ray, Harmy doesn't plan to start the projects from scratch.

"I also decided against using the Blu-Rays as a source for the new versions, as I’d still have to work in 720p and from the comparisons I've seen between the Blu-Rays and the highest quality HDTV captures, the difference is so small (being the same resolution from the same master) that it wouldn't be worth it," he explained."
He mentioned a couple pages ago that those quotes are old. He since changes his mind and started from scratch.

It has been QUITE a while since I last posted here - before the 2004 DVDs were out. Not sure if anyone from my time is still around. Just posting to see if I still had access. See ya!

There's actually QUITE a few, like DAYV, Warbler, Nanner, Jay, Gaffer, and a few other I can't think of because I've been around for about a year.

I have seen your posts from old threads though, so most of us already know who you are. I really hope you can stick around, and get used to some of the newer people here!
Don't listen to Zig, he could barely write last time you were here.

Harmy's Despecialized v1.0 of the original Trilogy has been released.  These were based off of HD TV broadcasts and other DVD sources?
Now that the Blurays have been released, Harmy is re-undertaking the mammoth task to give us an even better version 2.0 of his despecialized work.
Exactly. 2.0 is based on the Blu-rays, which has better fine detail than the HDTV and slightly better black levels.
I often see Harmy refer to receiving reference frames to conduct his work.  What are these and where do they come from?
A variety of sources, mostly private collections.
Also, for the layman can someone give a rough idea of how Harmy does these re-edits?  Does he edit scenes frame by frame?  Can batch changes be made to a scene once he figures out how he wants to edit it?
It's mostly frame-by-frame stuff. This is an example of how some of the changes had to be made.
I see people refer to workprints and reels.  Is there a link or a thread where one can go to view a culmination of these, to see what the current status of the project is in?
Harmy has been releasing sections for scrutiny, but I don't think there's a master page and they are still pretty rough. Someone distributed one with one of Harmy's jokes and complained about the swearing he added to Star Wars!

Hey Harmy, can't wait to see the finished product. Amazing work. I'm wondering if you're planning on putting the Deleted Scenes from the BluRay on your BluRay version, just to make it super-definitive?
This is the definitive original cut restoration. Adding scenes that Lucas never had in the final cut is not the purpose of this edit, though there are some in this forum that are.
