The fictional universe of Star Trek (2009) shares continuity with the series Enterprise where political entities from the future were routinely using time travel to alter the past.

If you were to continue the design ethic of the NX-01 Enterprise into the time of the USS Kelvin the over all design does connect.

The continuation of that ethic evolution to the alternate NCC-1701 is also consistent.
What's interesting is the evidence that I usually use to show that things were different comes from the "Return of the Archons" comic retelling, where not only is Landru changed from a 6000 year old alien computer intelligence to a 100 year old Federation scientist, but the Archon is shown to be an NX-class ship with JJ-prise nacelles. I would use that to point that Archer's NX-01 was different than the one we saw, but it could be that they refit them with the more ample nacelles later.

Either way, I don't think the JJ-verse was ever the same as the Prime.

Some people seem to think that everything that gets sucked into a Red Matter Black Hole travels through time. I think that only super-supernova powered ones have that power. It's not like specks of Vulcan appeared in a random places over centuries.

Also, there is evidence in the comic books that the universe was different before Nero came, so I'm of the opinion that it was already an alternate universe, the characters just assumed that Nero was the tipping point.

Last movie seen
Time

I've been on a Netflix Queue cleanup, so watched a few movies the last couple weeks.

Robocop

I haven't seen this since I was a kid (for some reason), but after watching it again, it wasn't the satire of the 80's I was hoping for. It was actually kind of shallow.

2 out of 4 Dismembered Limbs

Transformers: Dark of the Moon

What a waste of 2.5 hours. Even being forced to calm down his shooting style, you still can't tell what is going on, who's running where, or why. There was a lot of swearing, dumb jokes, and characters who had no real purpose, just like the last two. I was embarassed for every actor in the movie, and hope that Bay has some incredible blackmail against them.

1 out of 10 Shameful Star Trek References

The Expendables

Exactly as advertised: mindless action movie with over the top violence starring a bunch of 80's action stars.

Team America: World Police

Not bad, not bad at all. Not a strict musical like I was hoping (2 characters sing a song, 1 of them being in a musical at the time), most of the songs being parodies of the crappy songs you normally get in the middle of those types of movies, which hit the mark pretty well. The puppets were great, I'd love to see some behind the scenes stuff on how they did it.

Star Wars: Episode VII to be directed by J.J. Abrams **NON SPOILER THREAD**
Time

I'm still forming my opinion on the idea, but I'd like to point out that all the articles "confirming" it point to the same article on a site you've never heard of using no quotes and a single unnammed source who "works close to the production".

Even EW, who got the quote saying he'd rather just be in the audience and wasn't interested, immediately posted a link to this site and said "well, I guess he changed his mind" without putting up a disclaimer that no one has spoken to JJ since the "announcement". People are saying that the LA Times saying "sources confirm" is confirmation. Note they don't say "OUR sources confirm" or what those sources could be. They don't even have a link to the original article!

I'm wary, especially so soon after reading this:
http://x-surface.tumblr.com/post/41282771026/x-surface-dont-believe-everything-you-read

If it is true, its a leak that couldn't come at a worse possible time. The first comic lead in to Star Trek Into Darkness came out this week, the "Countdown" is literally beginning. Now that news is overshadowed by him abandoning the Trek ship for Wars.

I'm unconvinced, even with Jett Lucas and Bob Orci making it sound like its definitive.

I also can't imagine what sites like TFN will do with the complete secrecy JJ would bring to a Wars movie. They'd get so frustrated not knowing who the villian is!

Greenie's Ten FPS video game Commandments

1. Thou shall make the game fun.

2. Thou shall not use regenerative health. Health packs are to be used only to add actual tension to the game.

3. Thou shall not have any quick time events.

4. Thou shall make the game look interesting. Greys and browns are not to be used exclusively (unless justified within the story)

5. Thou shall tell a good story within the single-player campaign.

6. Thou shall not base the game solely around the multi-player campaign if the game is to have a single-player campaign also.

7. Thou shall be able to carry more than two weapons at a time.

8. Thou shall be able to aim a weapon without looking down the sights constantly.

9. Thou must tax the player creatively, allowing them to figure things out for themselves. Nothing is better for a player than them wondering 'Where do I have to go now?'

10. Thou shall allow the player the ability to optionally choose to turn off tutorials and pop up indicators at the very start of the game.

I didn't like Halo 4 either.
