The Great Robot Chicken Debate--A Place Where Folks Can Argue Whether It's a Hilarious or Unfunny Show

STIII is unscientific, though. Of course, most of Star Trek is to one degree or another, and its not even the worst offender in the lot (TNG, I'm looking at YOU).
You act as if there was an episode where the crew de-evolved and Barclay turned into a spider.

All Things Star Trek
Time

I would imagine such a thing would be implausible. For example, the book series I own takes place post-Generations/flashbacks, pre-TNG/flashbacks/alternate timeline, or in the Nexus. I wouldn't know where to begin to place them on a timeline. Besides the fact that those books contradict other books taking place in the same timeframe...

We give the SW EU crap, but you have to give them credit for trying to keep things straight. The ST EU is nice because each writer has a ton of free will, but there was no continuity until recently.

HOWEVER, since the series have ended, some editor has tried to keep the books straight and more in vein with the SW EU. The issue? It's still complicated as heck.

Does he say that at some point?  I don't recall.  I know he says "old friend" so I could build it if he says "best" somewhere else, but would be better to use a full quote if available.
I meant he could be Mark. Use one of the times Lisa is trying to seduce him and he says "But Johnny is my BEST FRIEND" just before he takes his clothes off. They're my favorite part.

The claiming of best friendship, not the clothes off part.

It's pretty clear that people interpret things in so many different way. If i was gong to change things just because of the way people interpret something,  then i would have to do a million different versions.
Everyone has to keep in mind that this is Ady's edit, his interpretation of things. If you don't like it, edit in the original or film your own actor in a Vader suit to insert in. ;-)
