Star Wars HD coming in November! All SIX movies!

Hmm, too bad about all the voices being in German. Plus PAL movies are speeded up, so that messes up the video and audio. But it certainly doesn't affect the screencaps, they look super!

I sure hope the HD broadcast of all the Star Wars movies coming up on Cinemax will look this great! Get your HD digital video recorders ready, guys. This is our (maybe only) chance to get all 6 Star Wars movies recorded in HD without any further changes (even more changes to the movies may come in the 30th anniversary set). And please record and then back them all up at max quality, so the full unaltered video and audio quality of the original HD cable presentation is preserved. Once we have safe backup copies of all 6 movies on Blu-Ray BD-R disks in full HD quality that will play on any standard Blu-Ray set top movie player, they can never be lost or deteriorate and we can watch them any time.

Screw Blu-ray.

And you can't make back-up copies. You can't even record the HD signal from Cinemax.

The first volume will have the E! special plus the deleted scenes for Jaws The Revenge.
The 2nd volume will have the From Page To Screen special plus the trailers for Jaws from the original DVD, laserdisc and another from VHS that I had.
The 3rd volume will be the In The Teeth Of Jaws plus the Martha's Vineyard special. I won't be putting this up as a DigitalfreakNYC production because the sources are not mine.
The 4th volume will be the Jaws 3 and The Revenge specials if I can get copies of them.

Thanks all!

* New England: Our Way (Rare US 1974 Documentary)
* Jaws: The E! True Hollywood Story

I have yet to pick up the 30th anniversary edition of Jaws - are any of the above included in that commercial release (ie. meaning they won't be included in your set)?

Nope. None of them are included in that.

But I am not a big fan of the artwork from the screener dvd so I prefer to work with pictures from the movies. Maybe someone else will like to use it for a different cover.

I will come back in a few days with tentative cover for the 3 discs.

Ash,

As soon as 1 person gets back to me with artwork for this disc, I can start seeding it. The others will take longer.

I might've asked you this before but did you ever get copies of the "Jaws In-Depth" DVDs that someone was making and selling on eBay?

Yeah...i got the one that had In The Teeth of Jaws and the Martha's Vineyard footage. Unfortunately, I can't find another source for either special so I might just torrent the one I have.

Again, if anyone has some rare jaws footage, please let me know!

Ash,

That looks great.

I'm actually titling this one Jaws Archives: Volume 1, since there will be (at least) 3 volumes of this right now. Any chance you might be able to amend it?

I also put all the deleted scenes from Jaws The Revenge on the disc to pad it out. You might want to add that on as a "bonus feature." I did want to use the original artwork from the Emmy screener DVD as I liked it but I'm open to other interpretations.

There were two LD editions of this documentary - German and Japanese. The first one is overdubbed in German language with no subtitles while the second one has Japanese subtitles and original audio. I decided to buy the German one, of course. The high quality video is what we need and any subtitles are decreasing its value. The question is: are you able to transfer the LD onto DVD and then add English audio from that pale VCD version I once sent to Jonno? If you do not own it yet, I can send it to you as well. This can be a challenge, you must change the speed a bit to plant the audio to the PAL video.

If it's a German LD, he'd need a PAL laserdisc player to play it, methinks.

Meeder, what happened to the NTSC version of the first Alien disc, hmmmmmmmm????????

Oh I believe you there. It'll be a while before I get into HD-DVD/Blu-ray though. I live in Australia so there's nothing here for another month or two at the earliest. Then there's the whole "format war" deal. Finally I couldn't really afford the hardware at this point. So I relish watching HDTV stuff as that's the best I'm going to see for a while (disregarding DVDs that upscale well).

That's too bad. You could get an entry-level HD DVD player right now for $350 here. And then there's the add-on for the 360 that will be $200!!

Forget about Blu-ray.

I’m putting together all of my Jaws documentary DVD’s and was wondering if anyone had any “rare” footage that I might be interested in?

Please let me know what you got. Thus far, I have 3 DVD’s planned.

I’m especially interested in anyone who might have a copy of “the making of Jaws 3: SHARKS DON’T DIE” or the making of Jaws The Revenge.

you do realize that unless they're authoring HD DVD's with this material, it's not going to be in HD, correct?

And if you did that, it would have to be split over 3-4 single layered DVD's.

Babyhum,

A request. When you do the other discs that I had given you the material for, can you please make sure you set it as an NTSC disc? The "When SW Ruled..." disc shows up as PAL and I'm going to have to convert all of yours now, including the one *I* gave you. I'd appreciate it.

AFAIK, When SW ruled was an NTSC disc. I will check when i return home. I always keep the format of the disc the same as the source material. My FIRST release of When Star Wars Ruled... was a PAL source and was released as a PAL disc. Maybe you have that version.

I probably do. There were 2 versions? I don't get it. I think I even seeded that one.

Can i get the NTSC version, please?
