Lucas is just trolling now - THR Interview
Time

I'm honestly completely floored...and very, very sad, to be honest.

I used to look forward to the possibility of showing my niece the movies...but my love is dying, something I *NEVER* thought would happen. It's becoming a huge joke that only George is in on. And it's insulting.

What a dick. :( He's spitting on everyone who has ever been a fan of these films.

Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released)

NTSC has 3:2 pulldown and the whole thing of not being a whole number of frames per second.

It's easy to take a PAL video source and convert it to 24fps - the frames just play back 4% slower, no pulldown or interpolation necessary.

It really doesn't matter, because the final 24fps version is going to be synched to the existing soundtrack preservations.

I dunno. I just feel like stretching anything will introduce artifacts. I know it does with sound.

Yeah, it's a whole matte painting, which was completely changed in the SE, not just the soldiers in the foreground but also the walls, the window and about half of the soldiers in the room.

I am now encoding WP3 reel one. Here's a little promo from it :-)

Why is it 25fps???
Sounds horrible.

and you've gotten aliasing artifacts as well.

Empire Strikes Back 1980 Press Conference
Time

Does it sounds like a press event for tv or radio where they could replace the audio of the questions with a local newscaster.  Or a full event where in the background maybe you can hear the press.  (..having now read the ebay listing) Does the recording seem to be the large press event or part of the local one on one interviews, or a bit of both?

It's the press conference for the film and it's most certainly NOT the one-on-one interviews done for TV as above. Those are usually done on the same day but in an individual studio with reporters switched out.

This, I believe, is from the Canadian press tour for the film. I still haven't gotten around to listening to the second CD.

I believe any of those will do. Definitely DVD2/DVD4

Maybe, and those are great deals, but I'm looking to be able to put any damn thing in the player and run it. So far my Phillips does that for DVD and VCD, but obviously not BR.

I doubt you're going to find ONE player that will play EVERYTHING, as well as being region-free.

Star Wars Blu Ray Impressions

IMO, the one overriding reason that the set can be "worth it" is for the 3 old-school documentaries on Disc 9.  The prices on the secondary market for legit versions of "The Making of Star Wars", "SP FX: The Empire Strikes Back", and especially for the Japan-only "Classic Creatures" LD together rival the cost of the BD set.

Yes, I know that almost everyone on this site has at least on LD-to-DVD transferred version of each of the documentaries (Rowman's for me) but to have a proper release is nice in itself.

How are they encoded? AVC? How high is the bitrate?
