"Jaws" - Laserdisc/TV/Documentary Preservation (* unfinished project *)
Time

There is no difference between the documentary on the laserdisc and the one on the DVD/Blu-ray.

Which version of The Shark Is Still Working are you releasing? The same one on the Blu? Or the 3 hour version?

You should check out the discs I've already released on Jaws. I believe I did two or three.

This forum is mostly for items that are NOT currently available or for fan-edits.

Aside from the ABC airing, it doesn't seem like yours includes anything that's not currently available on the blu-ray set.

The new Jaws audio is actually not bad at all and I really hated the last one. Now that Indy and E.T. are about to come out, the SW disc is going to truly stand alone in its crass, glitchy, shittiness. (There's the big star wars convention in Florida this week, I don't suppose they'll address anything)

If you like replaced sound effects and a completely different mix entirely, then Jaws is right up your alley.

The 7.1 mix is more bastardized than Star Wars.

If the remaster was a true remaster like Aliens was, we would have been told by now. It's coming out in a couple of weeks and no word from the Cameron camp. Trust me if Cameron did have remastered it, it would be all over the sites, months in advance. It's just a repackage of the old BR with a new encode and the bonus of the 2001 DVD (or some of them) trown in. They have announced a mono mix included too, but I'm sure this one preservation here, will sound better than their crap repackage.

No it's not. It's been CONFIRMED to be a new master.

The forthcoming re-release of Terminator is the same old same old, this audio is fantastic I muxed it with my BR release and it kicks the arse of the mono DVD mix which I had already muxed in too (as the DVD from 2001 and the BR are the same master).

I don't think a true T1 release will come until two years, for the 20th anniversary.

How do you know? It hasn't been released anywhere yet.

The Godfather Saga - HD Restoration (Released)

Cool. Sounds good, dfnyc.

Unfortunately, the documentary was a huge disappointment, for me. Too many film clips and not enough interviews.
The saving grace for it was never-before-seen home video footage from the family that owned the house that stood in for the compound. There was also additional screen test footage that wasn't shown in the 1990 documentary.

It kills me that Jaws and the Star Wars films have had numerous documentaries and The Godfather has really only had one. :(

I finished downloading this now. Thanks a billion, DFNYC! I burned both discs to BD and printed cover art. So far, I've watched Episode 1. Excellent quality I must say, far better than my recording on my DVR; of course, the lack of commercials is great.

I noticed some occasional, non-bothersome digital artifacts; I assume this is a side effect of the capture. It manifests as slight distortions (i.e. an odd row of pixels lower section of the image). It certainly doesn't seem like a bad burn to me. In any case, it doesn't bother me one bit. Just thought I should point it out.

Also, I forgot. Where did the replacement for the missing section of your recording come from?

It might have been from my recording from AMC. It does blip out (has since been fixed) but it shouldn't be too often.

Enjoy the extras?

Did anyone have any issues with TPB still?
