i have interest in changing the samplerate or making a custom blu-ray ;)
besides, if going from 44.1khz to 48khz makes the audio sound worse, then all of the ld audio transfer and theatrical dts mixes to blu-ray would sound bad. but they don't :P ;)
I believe that someone said an uncompressed PCM track at 41000 basically equals a DTS 448 track at 48000.
I don't have the 2002 version. I never found it. :(
I did, however, make a bonus disc for the set that included a new recording of the documentary. ;)

As if we didn't all see this coming...
I wonder what we'll all talk about after the fact? That it doesn't have all the audio mixes we love? :) lol

Well, what I'm looking for are the original '77 mixes (whatever the best current preservations of them are) encoded in DTS-HD MA format. I already have h_h's 70mm 5.1 but I still don't have the other two.

I'm very excited this is finally here. I had converted your previous Vimeo version to a DVD, but this will certainly be better quality, and I'm looking forward to downloading it. Thanks for all your hard work!
I'm definitely interested. Are you doing this losslessly with the Blu-ray as source?
How much do you charge for transfers? :)

If there's a 16mm source, couldn't an HD version be created?
I'm sure when AMC showed it it was in HD, but it's starting to look like nobody recorded it.

(Similar to the above post)
This guy made a pile of mods to a Pioneer CLD-99 LD player, including a video output bypass that circumvents the circuits that (in their heyday) cleaned up the video signal before piping it out via RCA or S-Video. His mods apparently produce about the best video signal you can get out of a laserdisc player. I can't thoroughly explain it, but for all the tech-junkies, it might be worth a visit to his youtube page. If anyone could produce the best copy transfer off of the CAV GOUT discs, I'm sure he could. He's also on AVSForum here, if anyone wanted to petition him.
I've been scouting for a set of the SW LD's for awhile now.
that being said...
CAN'T Wait for 2.5! The blu-ray burner is hooked up and ready to go!
I have done these mods and more to an X9, it does improve the signal, but only a little.
There you go. It's the most recent issue...which I apparently got over 2 weeks ago :)
I had a project that I bought off of someone YEARS ago. If you'd like, I could check and see if you're missing any of the ones from there. It's an awesome compilation.
I honestly don't think George cares any more. I truly believe that this really stemmed from his wife getting half of those royalties. I always thought that story was true.
Now, that would be out of the picture and he wouldn't care what happens with that money.
I'm betting it happens in 2015.
drngr...how do you do your Vudu captures?

More 35mm film from the archives getting scanned and sold that isn't the actual movie. They're just screwing with me at this point.
They have been screwing with us for a very long time....

Just more bonus stuff to eventually get released on the OOT Blu-Rays. ;-)
Imagine if they released 1 every 2 years to coincide with the new films? Damn.
Lucasfilm publically stated seven years ago that they don't have any future plans to restore these films.
Lucas himself have stated that they are dead to him and that he wish they disappear, when being confronted with this question he always give weak excuses not to do it.
Rick Mccallum said in an interview a few months ago that "officially it will never happen."
About four years until we will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the death of the Original Trilogy.

I'm pretty sure those extra clips will look like crappy 360p YouTube vids. So basically it's (possibly great) material going to waste, because of no proper release.
Yeah, from what Rintzler said in the interview, there's going to be a TON of extra stuff. Whereas the print book may have had 1 picture of something, the digital might have 5-10. And there's going to be clips: specifically what was mentioned was the crew roaming around the Death Star, an alternate version of the Luke Hoth scar restoration, etc.
I'll try and scan the important parts when I get back home today.
I can only imagine that the file sizes for these books is going to be huge.
My apologies if this has been mentioned already but there's an article in the newest Star Wars Insider about the digital editions of the "making of" books that is coming out in the fall. It's mentioned that additional deleted scenes/dailies will be included in them.
Sucks that they couldn't be put into another boxed set. I'm reminded of the "Making Magic" set...
I guess we'll only have crappy quality versions of them.
