We have access and scans of all the Star Wars and Raiders documentaries. In good condition. They've been taken care of, and will be released. More details will be revealed later on.

If only there was some way you could find out in about 15 seconds using the internet... something where you could type in a question and immediately get an answer...
In the meantime, until that technology exists, all I can say is it's pornography involving threesomes.

It took a while to realize I was seeing double today! Threads merged for your convenience.

Just a thought... But...
I'm sure both Fox and Disney would love to sell the original versions of the trilogy since they only care about making money and selling the original trilogy would be a cash cow. However, I'm willing to bet that Lucas foresaw that possibility and he likely included a stipulation that says Disney and/or Fox cannot release the original trilogy without his permission otherwise the rights to the films revert back to him.
He may not be a good filmmaker, but he is a savvy businessman.

Both Raiders docs made it to Laserdisc in the U.S., so there are no subtitles to contend with. Can't recall if anyone ever undertook a preservation of them.
The Making of Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom never had a video release at all, AFAIK.

Hardware Wars on Blu Ray might look too good. ;)
Hope they include Ernie Fosselius' other projects, especially Porklips Now. You can probably guess what that is a spoof of...
Regardless, I'd love The Making of Star Wars, Classic Creatures and Great Movie Stunts Raiders special. But...who knows what shape they're in or if I could get someone interested enough to do the work.

I'm amazed any public libraries still have film collections these days.
SilverWook said:
Interesting, but can you actually check the print out and take it home? Scanning a print is something that shouldn't be rushed.
I had a lead on a SWTJ print at an Ohio university, but the link doesn't work anymore.

The documentary prints Puggo scanned were library discards that turned up on Ebay.

What we really need to find is Classic Creatures, and especially Star Wars To Jedi:The Making of a Saga.
So a member of the laserdisc facebook group is looking to get rid of his x9 machine and I have a feeling many people here would be interested.
He said:
"It works perfectly and comes with all packing materials. Only 1 or 2 very minor scratches on it. Even the box is in really good shape. It has 5 muse discs and 300 regular discs to come with it"
The catch is that he doesn't want to ship it. Anyone in (or near) Michigan looking for one?

If you are able to borrow them, I may be able to sort something out in NY.
They also have 16mm Star Wars, Jedi, 2001, Classic Creatures- Return of the Jedi, Hardware Wars, the Star Trek movies, The Time Machine and lots of other cool stuff.
(Sorry, I originally put this in the wrong section)
Sooo…
The library at Lincoln Center in NYC has 2 16mm copies available. Unfortunately, I have no way of scanning it. Is there anyone else near NYC that would be interested? I don’t believe we have a scan of it yet, no?

They also have one of the Raiders of the Lost Ark documentaries on 16mm as well!

I don't have that movie.
But when you rip a full HD DVD you could play the IME using a software player. You can also rip the PiP track(s) used for it, but if it's not one long video for the entire film it would be tough to sync with the actual movie.

Where did the "workprint" footage come from? Was there ever a film source?
Believe it or not, it's not a workprint. There's just the one green screen scene (after Calvin's evacuation announcement but before the water breach) that might have even made it into the theatrical cut. I didn't see it theatrically but I can confirm that scene was green on the 1980s retail Australian VHS (my copy is now long gone, sadly).
The backdrop was changed to light blue on the Region 4 DVD and all the Australian TV broadcasts I've ever seen.
See screenshots: http://imgur.com/a/YIkKu
The colours on the VHD rip are a mess, but the green is accurate. I'd love it if someone with the VHD could confirm this please. I'd also love to know what the laserdisc looks like. This bizarre goof was part of the film's charm for me!

Does anyone have Poseidon on HD DVD? I'm wondering if it's possible to "rip" the "In-Movie Experience" or if it's simply confined to the disc.
Anyone?

Thank you for your thought and effort, Lasedisc Master!
My friend in Italy managed to capturing this recent airing of JAWS: THE REVENGE, and it has the original cut with Jake's death and the non-explosion ending. I'm going to try and put this rip on the BD-R I make of this, just need to sync it up with the English track.
So I'm working on a side project for myself and a friend that would require scouring Usenet for a few things.
Here's the scoop:
I was putting together a bonus disc for the TV show Will & Grace. When the show was released to DVD, they used syndicated versions of several of the episodes instead of the originally aired cuts. This meant that sometimes approx 6 minutes (give or take) of footage was cut. I was wondering if usenet might have the original capped versions from the early 2000's still there. I feel like it's my only hope at this point.
Does anyone have any suggestions of where I might be able to find them?

The SkyHD rip was fantastic quality compared to what I've seen on TV over the years. I can post a video sample if you want. I believe the real advantage was the 12mbps vbr.
Like I said, Vudu or bust.
I'd be interested to see how it stacks up against the SKY rip.
Can you fix the fact that the movie is awful? :)

I'm betting most people have never seen this before...
It was filmed September 12, 1978 at Fox studios.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buRGuDX8Oek
It's....quite somethin'.
It wasn't for the Holiday Special. It was filmed for the dance number as part of an entertainment program at the time. There was a video online years ago which had part of the program either side of the video, but i can't seem to find it. The only one i could find was posted in 2010, although edited to remove the segment of the show, but you can still hear the clapping at the end.
