"The Clones Revealed" (Released)

Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am one seriously happy dude! We are good to G.O. on the subtitle front. Managed to suss it out in DVD Lab Pro itself, and got exactly what I needed! So I went through half the movie today, writing down the timing, whapped the times into DVD Lab Pro, burned off a test copy (the number of discs Ive used on test copies alone must be ridiculous), and hey presto, it works! And it looks bloody spot on to...top notch stuff.

So, we finally hit the home strecth. Half a movie left to subtitles (no more than 3 or 4 hours work), then onto the actual DVD authoring. Just working on a few ideas now for menu backgrounds. Won't be a very elaborate thing, my menu's never are. Although I am at least planning to put a disclaimer at the beginning of the discs, just haven't decided who's to steal/use yet?

In short, not long now gang.....

hi guys,

just a quick progress report so you don't all think I've dropped of the planet. Also figured I'd bump my own thread to try n drum up some interest with the influx of new members we've had recently.

I'm on one final pass through of the main video....I've said this about 3 times now but whilst watching the test DVD back I noticed lots of odd frames here n there that wern't showing up in Womble. So I'm having to watch it thru, spot the frames, then shave a frame either side of that point, and hope it works lol.

Still struggling to find an easy way of getting the subtitle effect I'm looking for tho

Have the text where you want it in the picture, and give the image an all-black background. Use the thingie in the program to remove the black and now you have a burnt in sub. You know how it works

At least I think this'd work.

I've been trying this as it seems the most effecient way round these problems, but once dragged in the images lose a lot of their sharpness, and just don't look right. Could you let me know what program and settings you used?

Hi all, me again,

so far every single program I've treied hasnt suited my needs here or I just haven't been able to make it work. I've just downloaded AVISynth but it's a jibberish to me so if someone could talk me through?

I've got all my subs both as a word doc and .txt doc, do I first need to manually go through and work out the times for these? I thought Manuel Video Subtitler would do the job since you can have a preview video (again this has caused grief but I've manage to encode a very small and poor quality mpeg to use as a preview) but didn't seem to save as a recognisable file type
