For anyone interested, I've now uploaded the first 14 entires (out of 133) of this edit!
I've finally started uploading this project, I've actually set up a facebook page for it, wuth the plan of sharing the mediafire upload links there
does anyone still have a copy of this. tried to find it to show a friend and seem to have lost t
Hi guys, I'm thinking about doing a version 1.0 of this. guess the blu rays piqued my interest again (although it's always been at the back of my mind)
but I'm looking for some advice on the technical side of things. Firest I need to know how to make the best quality DVD rip to use as possible, then I'll probably be using Womble since thats what I've always used. Plus. I've just found the picture-in-picture effect, which helps. But I'm interested in how to make everything the same ratio, so that when I switch from the movie to a BTS clip, I can keep the same black bars top and bottom...
well I watched AOTC blu today (well, i say watched...i watched the first 10 minutes and the last 30 minutes, fell asleep in the middle....been a long day)...and it looks just awful!
the battle of geonosis looks absolutely terrible, everything looks fake. the actors look so far removed from their digital surroundings that it just yanks you right out of the movie. Space Jam looks better!

well my set came today...
How did you get it so early?
Was dispatched from play.com on weds.
That said, I have only watched TPM so far (working through them in order, with my oh-so-tolerant wife...well, it was her who bought them for my birthday haha) and the picture quality is fantastic.
So were the rumors of DVNR greatly exaggerated? It would be great if at least the prequels had nice-looking transfers.
I haven't got the best eye for this kind of thing, but focused on the convo between yoda and mace at the end of the film, and it really isn't as waxy and smooth as people have been suggesting
Anyway, overall, very happy so far and can't wait o see what the rest looks like
Have you checked the deleted scenes yet?
only the ones for TPM, going to work through it movie by movie, and save the best til last. the ones for TPM aren't the best mind
well my set came today...
I've avoided posting in this (or any other) thread regarding the changes. I'm not particularly keen on them, but it's a foregone conclusion these days that lucasfilm (and I'm not even sure it's down to GL these days, I'm sure he just gets a memo with an idea that one of the staff gets, shrugs, and goes "yeah, why not?") will keep tampering with these films.
And like so many others here, I already have numerous choices should I want to watch a preferred cut
That said, I have only watched TPM so far (working through them in order, with my oh-so-tolerant wife...well, it was her who bought them for my birthday haha) and the picture quality is fantastic. sure the cgi sticks out like a sore thumb when it's mostly a live action background (i.e. the entrance to mos espa), but when reversed, like the naboo plains battle, or the space battle, it looks fantastic.
The deleted scenes for TPM ain't up to much either, but there was enough there that I hadn't seen before, and plenty of material should I decide to make "The Menace Revealed". just a shame all the bonus docs have that crappy yellow border
Anyway, overall, very happy so far and can't waitt o see what the rest looks like
Has anyone watched the latest trailer for the blu-ray releases? The BTS clips shown make it appear they're doing something very similar to what I attempted with this edit, ie seagueing from the BTS footage into the finished shot
wow, thanks a lot for that sluggo, means a great deal. good to see you too
the blog has been update with episode 0.10
In 1996, we visit Michael as he recovers from his accident, Locke's commune life is under threat and Desmond meets one Eloise Hawking and gets a glimpse of his destiny.
Here's episode 9 of season 0.
In this ep. find out there's a power struggle on the island and Desmond decides that the religious life isn't for him. Also, we visit Hurley, Michael, Daniel and more.
Just a note that the Desmond segments in this episode and the next are probably the least coherant parts of my entire edit, due to the context in which these flashbacks actually took place. I have done my best to make it as unjarring as possible whilst still trying to continue a narrative, but only you can tell me how sucessful I've been.
Here we go with a new release, episode 8 of season 0
This episode features a huge ensemble of our favourite characters. We visit Charlie, Kate, Miles, Sun and Daniel. Told you it was jam packed.
But there's more.....a team of french scientists find themselves washed up on the island, and Sayid has to make some difficult decisions in Iraq.
Download info on my blog...
It's a lot more lowkey than how some of the other similar projects have been promoted and released
I've just updated my blog with a massive update containing the download links for the first 10 entries in this project (7 episodes & 3 intermissions).
I will be updating the blog more often with new releases. Hoping to upload at least 2 episodes a week from here in
heres the link to the blog
it dosen't, but i wanted to show the dharma initiative actually in the 1970's, so I could show ben arriving on the island, and then getting shot, before going on to lead the purge
my whole angle is that although its impossible for fans of the show to approach this without foreknowledge, for a new viewer they losties would be taken at ther word, and therefore really would be survivors of a shipwrecked salvage boat, with the big reveal happening at sometime in season 4 when they actually to travel back in time, since no mention of time travel is ever made in my early episodes
thanks for the positive feedback. glad you liked how I apporached the timetravel angle. always cool to strat on a mystery
Well, hopefully (thanks to some good advice from theslime at fanedit.org) we're back on track with regards to quality. I have re-encoded my first release (episode 3 of season 0) following a new method, and the resulting file should (hopefully) be of better quality than the original release.
I would really appreciate some feedback on teh quality of this video, as I'm reluctant to start re-encoding the other episodes until I'm sure that the quality is acceptable. So if you already downloaded the original release, please check this one out for comparison, or if you're new to 'LOST - In The Detail' then its a perfect time to join the ride.
check out my blog at
for release info
well obviously I could tell you exactly how i edited my episodes together, which scenes went in which order, how I approached the time travel stroyline and tried to create a new narrative and viewing experience....but then all my hard work would have been kinda moot now wouldn't it
hey, I just don't wanna give all my secrets away at once yknow ;-)
everything happens when it happens....
I've updated my blog with episode 5 of season zero of 'LOST - In The Detail'.
In this episode the Dharma Initiative capture an unco-operative hostile, young Ben Linus is badly injured, and Juliet and new recruit Kate make a dangerous journey to see the Others.
I understand that there have been several other projects doing very similar things with putting LOST in order, and some of you may be reluctant to commit to another rewatch of the whole show, but I like to feel that mine is different due to the inclusion of deleted scenes, mobisodes and the editing of the time travel aspect of it, and I'd love you guys to give it a shot
Heres the link to the blog
The ones you've mentioned are episodes 3 and 4. 1 & 2 will be the jacob and richard-centric episodes. These will be released once I have the S6 boxset, but I wanted to get the ball rolling and start releasing what I've already done.
I've updated the blog with the release of episode 4 - 1974-1977
thats kind of the point...to start the show on a mystery!
episode 1 & 2, havent been done yet. waiting for the DVD to do teh jacob and richeard episodes.
I'm not quite sure what happened with the quality in episode 3, but after working on this beast of a project for over 3 years, I just want to start getting it out there.
the blog will be updated shortly with the first intermission
