Watched episode 2 and I don’t have much to say about this episode. I liked that this episode was faster-paced than the first episode, and most of the episode works really well, but again I feel like this could have been 5 minutes or so shorter. I don’t really like the extended action sequence of Leia running away, and Reva parkouring on the rooftop and feel like it could have been removed entirely and it would improve the episode. It feels like action for the sake of having action and I’m not a fan. If I was to edit this show after Obi starts to try to comfort Leia about Lola I’d remove the chase sequence and cut to the High Inquisitor seeing that Reva has sent a bounty out for Obi-Wan, then I’d cut to the scene of Obi-Wan and Leia meeting Haja and continue with the rest of the episode. I’m really enjoying the show so far though, but I’m starting to think that this would have been stronger as a 2 or 2.5-hour movie than as a full 6 episodes, and I’ll definitely be checking out some fan edits of the show once it’s over.

Full disclosure I never watched either The Mandalorian or The Book of Boba Fett. I kept meaning to watch the former, but just never managed to get around to it, and other than 1 or 2 arcs of The Clone Wars I never much cared about Fett as a character so didn’t really have an interest in seeing his book anyway. So my first experience with the Live-Action Disney Star Wars Shows is this one. As this thread shows there are a lot of mixed feelings about this show. I kind of understand what people are talking about when they say the series looks cheap. I think cheap is the wrong word, but more that it seems a bit off. Specifically, it’s the CG. It’s not well integrated and looks obvious whenever it shows up so it looks off. And it’s only ever on Tattooine the way everything else looks is great.

I’ve also only watched episode 1 so far, and while I’ve read a ton of complaints, so far I can’t say agree with many of them. I agree that sometimes the show looks cheap for lack of a better term and that there are some issues with the Inquisitors. I mostly like them, but all of their scenes last too long. Specifically, when any of them is making a speech they pontificate for like a minute too long, and it would be more impactful if their scenes were cut shorter. I don’t know why people are complaining about their acting, or that the characters are often against each other. The acting throughout the entire show, except for maybe that one Jedi and a few scenes with Leia is fantastic, and the Inquisitor’s infighting makes sense to me. They’re Sith and constantly trying to shore up their own positions by putting their coworkers down which feels like a really Sith thing to do.

My biggest complaint is that episode 1 is around 5-10 minutes too long. They should have shifted the Jedi dying to before Leia got kidnapped and ended the episode right where the Organa ask Obi-Wan for help. Don’t get me wrong I like the scene between Bail and Ben, but nothing after Obi-Wan discovers the dead Jedi is needed. Every other scene other than the reveal that Reva is behind the kidnapping isn’t necessary and I think that episode could just be the opening of episode 2 instead. If they just tightened up the Inquisitor’s scenes a bit and ended the episode in the right place I’d have no complaints other than how the series sometimes looks. As it is this is the only live-action Star Wars show, that I’ve actually been excited about and so far it’s met my expectations. Maybe my thoughts will change with episodes 2 and 3 but so far I think the show is really good if a bit slow. However, given that the show seems to be more introspective it feels intentional.

The answer to this question is yes he probably forgot, but is it a huge problem that ruins my enjoyment of the films? No, not for me at least, I do agree that there are inconsistencies between what is said in the original trilogy and what is shown in the prequel trilogy, but that’s just what happens when you go to create prequels and sequels to something you made 20 years ago. I don’t think it’s a big problem though as I’m able to just realize it’s inconsistent and move on. But then there’s a bunch of stuff that a lot of fans seem to hate or dislike that I just don’t really care too much about, and this is one of those things. I just personally don’t think it’s a big deal but it’s fine if others do.

My thoughts on the prequel trilogy are actually the opposite of the poster for this thread, I think the story that it tells is pretty good, and it’s the bad acting and dialogue that I can’t get past. I grew up when the prequels were coming out, Phantom Menace came out when I was 6, and I watched the original trilogy around the same time that movie came out. As a kid, I loved the Star Wars Prequels and the Original Trilogy, I must have watched both dozens of times as a kid, and it wasn’t until I went to college that I learned that people hated the prequels. By that time, however, I hadn’t seen the prequel trilogy in years cause I had over-watched them and I kind of fell into the hating the prequel bandwagon. I hadn’t watched them in years so I kind of just chalked up my loving them as just me being a kid who wasn’t discerning enough to realize they were bad. I’ve since rewatched the original versions of the prequels, and also dozens of fan edits of them, and now I’ve come out as in the middle on my thoughts on the prequels. I legitimately like the theatrical versions of the prequel trilogy while recognizing that they’re not really good movies, but I do think the hatred of them is massively overblown. A lot of people acted like these were abominations or some of the worst movies ever, and they’re mostly just kind of mediocre.

As for my thoughts on each movie, for Phantom Menace, I think the film is well structured and the story it tells is quite good, but it’s brought down by the bad dialogue and mediocre acting from the majority of the cast who are usually pretty good actors. I also find that pacing wise this is the closest to A New Hope than any of the other Star Wars movies in that they both move pretty slowly. However, while A New Hope is often slow but never boring, The Phantom Menace is slow and often boring as well. The biggest problem with this movie is that the direction for most of the actors is really bad so most of them can’t give out a good performance. However there are high points in the film, the pod race is really fun and engaging, Anakin’s bond and farewell with his mom are legitimately well written and well-acted, and the climax is really good. The Gungan battle is the only time in the entire franchise where Jar Jar is legitimately funny, and the lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and Maul is fantastic. Is it over-choreographed? I guess so but it looks really cool and it’s really hard to notice unless I’m specifically looking for it.

I think Attack of the Clones is a more solid movie than Phantom Menace. The plot is more engaging, the mystery behind the clones is well developed, and there are quite a few exciting action set pieces throughout the movie. However, there is one huge downside to the film and that’s Anakin. George Lucas does such a bad job at writing the character and his romance in this film that he singlehandedly tanks the entire prequel trilogy in one movie. I don’t blame Hayden Christensen for this as almost no one could convincingly say some of the lines he’s given. Lucas also makes the character especially annoying and whiny, and the romance between him and Padme is both embarrassingly awkward but portrayed as quite creepy at times. The deleted scenes really would have helped with this subplot but unfortunately, George Lucas keeps making the decision to cut the best scenes from the movies while leaving bad scenes in there. But what saves Anakin’s character is the entire sequence on Tatooine which I have virtually no problems with except for the scene where he tells Padme how he massacred the Tusken Raiders. But the rest of the movie was quite entertaining so it balances out by the end of the movie. The fight with Jango Fett is quite exciting the climax is really thrilling. It also has some of the best music in the entire franchise Across The Stars just might be one of my favorite music themes from the series.

Revenge of the Sith is the one movie amongst the prequels that I think is actually good. The biggest problem is that the previous movies poisoned the well when it comes to Anakin’s character arc. Even though all the elements needed for his character fall are there in the film, and executed quite well because he was so unlikeable in the previous movie a lot of people aren’t able to believe his journey in this film. His visions of losing Padme and everyone he talks to about this just telling him either not to worry or train himself to let go, the council constantly not fully trusting him, and also ordering him to do something directly against the code of the Jedi in spying on the Chancellor. Not to mention Palpatine’s subtle manipulation of him throughout this film and the previous one. Him being kind and favorable towards him in the previous movie, the Palpatine putting the idea in Anakin’s head that he’s incredibly powerful, using his frustrations with the Jedi council by convincing them that they’re scared of his power, and being the only one sympathetic to Anakin and giving him the idea that he can save Padme. All of this is fantastically set up by the film and pays off immensely during the climax.

The biggest problem is that the dialogue is still not that great throughout a lot of the film, some of the attempts at humor really bring down the film, and cutting out Padme’s scenes does a real disservice to the narrative. People usually talk about how bad Hayden Christensen is as Anakin, and while I do agree he doesn’t do a great job with his dialogue usually being bad he is an incredibly good physical actor. What I mean by that is when he doesn’t have any dialogue he does an excellent job. He’s really good at portraying lots of subtle shifts in his emotions when he isn’t speaking. His acting when his mother dies in movie two, the scene in ROTS where he and Padme are just looking out over Courascant, when he finds out that he’s going to be a dad, and when he’s killing the Separatists on the lava planet his acting is fantastic. But then they make him speak and the direction and dialogue just are not good.

I think the climax of this film is truly fantastic. The acting mostly improves, order 66 is fantastically shot, Obi-Wan and Padme’s confrontation is great, Obi-Wan and Yoda realizing Anakin has been turned to the dark side, and Palpatine gives his speech while he declares himself the emperor, culminating in one of the best lines of dialogue in the franchise, “So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause,” and the lightsaber battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin is probably one of the best ones in the entire franchise, although I think Luke vs Vader in ROTJ is still the best one. Sure there are things that bring it down a bit, the scene where Palpatine gives Anakin the name Darth Vader and Anakin’s acting when he’s talking to Padme on the lava planet isn’t that good, Palpatine screaming “Unlimited Power” when he kills Mace, and Yoda’s fight with Palpatine can be a bit too silly, Padme losing the will to live is the most stupid thing ever, the line about Obi-Wan having the high ground is too silly and Vader’s No is really bad and cringe. However other than that I think the finale is near perfection and when people ask me why ROTS is the best of the prequel trilogy this is why.

One last thing, I highly recommend the novelizations of the prequel trilogy as they are fantastic. They don’t suffer from the same problems as the movies do, it included the character’s inner thoughts which does a good job of characterizing them, includes some really excellent deleted scenes, and even scenes that are unique to the novels. It actually makes the politics work. I’d say they are the definitive way to experience the prequels and as a whole are a much better experience than watching the movies are. I can say without reservations that the novelizations are the best versions of the prequels story and are legitimately good.

Star Wars: Abridged I The Republic - subjectzero edit of Star Wars Episodes 1-3 Phantom Menace, Attack of Clones, Revenge of Sith,

This is one of the better 3 in one edits of the prequels I’ve seen. It does a good job of knowing which scenes to leave in and which to cut out from both of the movies. The transition between Clones and Revenge is perfect and I was surprised at how well editing Attack of the Clones into 40 minutes worked. I really liked how you edited out the climax of Clones it worked really well. One more thing I loved about this edit is the text that appears on-screen letting us know which planet we’re on. It’s implemented really well and helps with establishing where we are. There was another narrative change in Attack of the Clones that I thought worked perfectly centered around Kamino and Geonosis, which makes me excited to check out the other two edits.

While the new narrative works pretty well, but I do have some critiques for it. First off I like the idea of the opening scene being Anakin leaving his mom but the execution wasn’t quite there. Also, I love using the deleted scenes of Padme and her family, but the quality of the image is noticeably less good. This isn’t really a problem in the close-up shots and mid-shots, where the quality is not significantly lower, but it’s a huge problem in the wide shots where the quality looks way too blurry. The narrative improvement is worth the lower quality though but it has to be mentioned. There is also a really obvious edit in the Naboo scenes where the music cuts out way too soon after we see Anakin and Padme start their relationship, and again the cut right before they leave Naboo is too abrupt. However, that those are really my only issues with the edit is remarkable considering the amount of material that needs to be cut. The Revenge of The Sith portion of the edit is edited near perfectly, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

I decided not to watch this all in one sitting, and I also didn’t watch it in the order that they’re displayed. I decided to start with the ones I was least looking forward to and then went in order of how much they interested me before I finished with The Duel which is the first episode in the collection. Also after each episode, I also went into the extra’s and looked at the filmmaker’s focus on each one before moving to the next short.

9 Lop and Ocho This was a real flop for me. I wasn’t that excited about it, because of the main character being a bunny girl, but that actually wasn’t much of a problem. The biggest issue with this one is that it feels really incomplete. None of the characters are well developed and I think Ocho in fact is the most poorly developed. The way she was characterized before she officially joins the empire and after she joins feels really abrupt. It also ends pretty abruptly and doesn’t have much of a conclusion. It feels like it got cut off way too soon like this was the beginning of a much longer story. It wasn’t until I watched the behind the scene feature about this one that I fully understood what the studio was going for. I got some of it from watching the short, but that I needed to go look at the behind the scene video for me to feel that is a failure of the short. It’s a real shame because I feel like if we got to fully explore Ocho’s descent to the dark side it could have worked better. I also think if we’re able to get a full movie or another 2-3 episodes to fully explore or conclude the story this would be really strong but without those, the short just isn’t all that good.

8 The Twins This was a really fun short. The plot is rather simple, but since the focus of the short is on the action it’s exactly what it needs to be. This is very clearly animated by Imaishi, whose style is immediately recognizable, to give us fight scenes on par with some of his best works. However, maybe because the plot is so simple I didn’t really connect to this one all that much. Don’t get me wrong I like cool action scenes as much as the next person, but I would have liked a little bit more substance. However, as a spectacle and piece of popcorn entertainment, it fully succeeds.

7 Tattooine Rhapsody was probably the most fun of these shorts. The idea of making a rock opera in Star Wars was pretty unique and in the wrong hands it could have ended up just feeling embarrassing, but the confidence the staff had in this project really shone through. It’s also the only one that features established characters from the franchise in the plot. It was also interesting to see the main character be a Jedi who turned away from fighting and became the lead singer in the band. All of the band members are well defined and the middle portion of the episode really sells that bond that all of them share with each other. It also doesn’t hurt that the music is really good. Joseph Gordon Levitt plays the main character and it turns out he’s a pretty good singer, Galactic Dreamer is a banger that’ll be playing on loop in my head over the next few days. I also went through and listened to the song in all of the languages it was dubbed into. Anyway, this episode was really enjoyable and I can defiantly see myself coming back to this one.

6 The Elder was definitely an interesting story it was rather more introspective than some of the other ones. The characters were well defined, and it did a decent job of introducing some mystery into the proceedings. I would definitely be interested in seeing these characters return. Like all of them, there is potential for the story to be expanded and turned into a series. I could see this being the prelude to a story about the return of the Sith, but I think it ended in a decent enough place that it works as a standalone. I’d also like to call out the score which feels a lot like John Williams’s score. In fact, this is one of the shorts that feels the most like Star Wars.

5 TO-B1 was the first one I watched because didn’t think I’d like it all that much but I actually found it pretty charming. The story was cute and the relationship between him and Mitaka was really well done. The animation was also really inventive and fluid throughout the entire thing. All of the characters were extremely expressive. The parts of this where he’s searching for the Kyber Crystal and exploring the force for the first time felt a bit shorter than I would like and I kind of wish this was a full 30-40 minute movie so some of those parts could breathe a bit more. However, it did tell a complete story and I was pretty satisfied after watching it.

4 The Duel was the short that I was most looking forward to and that was 100% because of its art style. While it wasn’t quite as good as I had hoped it was still a brilliant watch. I loved the sketchy black and white art style, and it looked a lot like they were blending some 3D into the 2D animation. It’s your standard Ronin helping a village story, but there were some fun touches on the formula such as the chief being a little kid. The idea of having this former Sith being the wanderer was also pretty inspired. I also liked how the short kind of does a fun homage to the Anakin and Obi-Wan fight in Revenge of the Sith, with the fight on the river log clearly being modeled on their fight on the magma barge. I also appreciate the soundtrack sounding a lot like Star Wars. I’m glad we’re getting more to this and I’ve preordered a Hardcover of the book, the cover art is so cool.

3 The Village Bride. I really enjoyed this one and it’s definitely one of the ones that feel the most complete as a story. The stands out for me in this one is the visuals. It focused on the beauty of the planet, and the beauty of quiet moments. It also had some pretty unique character designs and the style of animation was not what I’m used to but I still really liked it. It was also I think the only one that had actual anime voice actors, most notable Stephanie Sheh, in the cast and not just Hollywood talent. The story was also simple but effective and I liked how the people of the planet connected with the Force.

2 Akakiri was fantastic. It really felt like a samurai movie. It was probably the most stylish one of them all, not including the duel, with absolutely gorgeous animation, and the minimalistic soundtrack. This one actually reminded me quite a bit of Samurai Jack, mixed with an Akira Kurosawa film. It’s also probably one of the darker shorts in this collection. The tone is pretty bleak throughout, due to how the music colors even the more upbeat moments, but there are moments of beauty throughout. The music has a heavy focus on percussion and the whole piece feels very dreamlike. The ending is pretty dark and the way the color red drowns out all of the other colors was fantastic. This is definitely the second strongest of the shorts and it’s the only one where I have no complaints, so it’s a shame that it seems to be one of the least popular shorts. I usually see it hover around sopts 7 or 8 on ranking lists which is a shame and I think it might possibly be due to the art style. Science Saru typically has more out there character designs and the way their animation typically distorts characters to create fluid movements usually seems to be controversial. I quite like the fluidity that this type of style brings to the table, but I know it takes some people out of the moment as many like characters to remain on the model and not distort to create fluid animation. However I really vibe with this studio’s style, and this is the one that I really want to see expanded on later down the line, but unlike with Lop and Ocho, it’s because it was so good that I want more. It’s pretty much the perfect short, but there was one that I liked more

1 The Ninth Jedi ended up being my favorite. It was one of my most anticipated, partially because of the trailer shot where Kara uses her saber to destroy a speeder, and mostly because it was directed by Kenji Kamiyama as he was the director of one of my favorite series, Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex, as well as Serei no Moribito, and Eden of the East. This did not disappoint. I really loved the concept of the color of the lightsaber being dependent on each person’s connection with the force, and it also had a pretty good story. It also had a pretty cool twist, which was spoiled for me, but it was still really cool. I think this also probably had the best action out of all of them with the speeder chase throughout the forest and the final lightsaber fight being extremely well animated. This is also the longest of the shorts, with it being a full 23 minutes, and it made excellent use of that time. This is the one I want a sequel to the most, as this feels a lot like a fantastic pilot episode for a full series, and in the behind-the-scenes look at this episode Production I.G wants to do more as well, so hopefully, we’ll get it. I’d really like a full 13 episode tv series, but I’d also be fine with a 40-50 minute OVA or a full movie.

So in conclusion I consider this project a complete success, not all of the shorts were great, but there were none that were outright bad, and the top 3 were truly amazing. The real weakness of this project was that some of these shorts feel like they’re too short to tell the story that the filmmakers want to tell, so hopefully, if we get more they’ll allow the studios to go longer with the shorts. It still remains to be seen how popular this ends up being, but it seems to be fairly well-received by the fandom, or at least the audience ratings on the review aggregate website still appear to be decent, so I’m hopeful we’ll get more of this.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Revisited (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and 2) Anjohan

Deathly Hallows is very interesting as an adaption due to it being split into two parts. The first film is way more faithful to the book and slow-paced, while the second film is by design more action-packed, but also has many changes from the book. Some of these improve the film but others worsen the impact of the story. Looking at the runtime for the edit it’s 3.5 hours so there’s a lot that ended up on the cutting room floor, nearly 1 hour, and I was interested to see which of the two halves would have the most stuff cut. Just like Half-Blood Prince, Deathly Hallows is the most fan-edited Potter movie, but I saw things in this that I’ve never seen another Potter Edit even attempt. First off I was very impressed by the addition and integration of the deleted scenes. A few of the ones added have never been used in other fan edits and were inserted without breaking the pacing of the film. There are also some flashes of clips from the previous movies added that were flawlessly inserted.

Pretty much all of the cuts in this edit are seamless, the action scenes have some stuff removed that you would never notice unless you’ve seen the film many times before. Several moments of humor have also been removed which makes the tone more pervasively dark. It also removes a few scenes from the first half that I barely noticed was gone. I was also wondering if a certain subplot would be removed, specifically because one of the other edits also removed a similar subplot, and was pleasantly surprised to see it remain. I think it does actually improve the series to have this be removed from the earlier film in which it occurs but remain in this one because it serves a better narrative, to be here than previously. I’m being very careful not to spoil because I think the edit should be watched as blind as possible.

It was impressive how much was able to be removed from the movie and have it be seamless a lot is cut from part one but almost none of it is noticeable. There were only a few edits I don’t think worked. One of them was the transition from part 1 to part 2. It’s kind of hard to explain why, but I think it’s a mix of replacing Dobby’s death theme with A Window To The Past, and cutting out them burying him. It just removed the emotional impact for me, and I just didn’t feel as cut by the death as I usually am. The other edit that didn’t work is the removal of them first trying to get into Gringotts. They get to Diagon Alley and then we almost immediately transition into the mine cart sequence and suddenly there’s a new character we haven’t been introduced to. I understand that at 3.5 hours the movie is already long enough as it is, but that scene removal doesn’t really work and it would only be 1 or 2 extra minutes.

The only other edit I don’t quite think worked was the movement of the Harry and Dumbledore moment. I was fine with the removal of Narcissa in the forest scene, but putting the King’s Cross moment right after the school sees Harry dead just kills the pacing. The movie is building up to a crescendo and then it just stops mid-track and then when it picks up again it’s too sudden. I think the original placement is better.

Despite my complaints, this is probably the best of the Revisited edits. It’s really ambitious in what it’s trying to do and almost all of it works. That there were only 3 moments in the edit where I felt there were some poor choices shows that the positives vastly outweigh the negatives. The only other negative I have to say is that the visual quality of the edit wasn’t always the best. Specifically, in some of the really dark scenes, I noticed a lot of grain and noise in the image, although it could just be the video software I’m running on my computer. I’ll definitely download the 4k version once that’s done. I think this is probably the best edit of Deathly Hallows and while I had some issues I can’t recommend this enough.

There’s Gone Boy from Season 29 if you wanted to take a look at that. I removed it from the list because I disliked the final scene to the episode and also because my list is intended to be watched after season 14. That season had The Great Louse Detective which is where I consider his arc completed.

This is a really interesting idea, so I decided to take a crack at it. I’m not too sure how useful this would be for your purposes, because I’m not sure where you consider the drop-off to occur. I definitely agree with most people that the drop off started in seasons 9 or 10, but I still think the show is still pretty decent for seasons 10-20. Personally I didn’t really start watching the show until I was around 9 or 10, which is around seasons 14-16, so I probably have a much better reaction to seasons 10-20 than others. I stopped watching the show halfway through season 21. For me, Season 14, is the last season before the decline had fully taken effect. There are definitely still some really good gems throughout the widescreen HD seasons of the show, but most of my list is from seasons 15 and 16, with a handful of episodes from seasons 17-19 and I tried to find at least 1 from every season of the show after that. I tried to find episodes that tackled contemporary issues, as the show’s best episodes are often ones that tackle semi-serious subject manner, episodes that focus on certain character’s relationships, and those that bring a sense of closure for specific characters. I put an R next to episodes that I’m not sure should be in this hypothetical final season.

I’m kind of new here but I have some ideas on how to edit Rise of Skywalker. Before that, it’s starting to seem to me that how much people enjoy this movie is inversely proportional to how much they liked Last Jedi. Those who hated Last Jedi seem to really like this one while those who loved Last Jedi seem to hate this movie. I seem to be an outlier where I loved Last Jedi, it’s my second favorite, but I also loved Rise of Skywalker. There might be more deleted scenes to work with, I hope so, but as of this moment here’s what I would do.

First off I’d like to see if we can remove Chewbacca’s fake death. It’s a cheap attempt at emotional manipulation that almost completely ruins the tension in the final battle. This might also necessitate the removal of the Force battle between Kylo Ren and Rey with the transport. I’d like to remove this because people die and come back to life way too often in this movie. In keeping with the removal of Chewie’s fake death, I’d like the remove Zori Bliss from the end of the movie. I don’t think this would be too difficult, as I don’t remember too many shots of her in the final battle/ending. Having her actually die on the planet when it blows up actually gives some more emotional weight, even though she’s an extremely minor character I’d leave in the stuff with C3PO because they mine it for the best comedy in the trilogy. I’m fine with it because he’s a droid and not a human, so the explanation they use makes sense.

Another change I’m flirting with is removing Han from the film. Mostly because it’s literally just Harrison Ford and Adam Driver repeating their lines from the Force Awakens. We can just have a shot of Ben looking pensive and then throwing away his saber. Again I may or may not cut this because I’m not opposed to having this in.

My most controversial change would be removing Rey being Palpatine’s Granddaughter. It just raises way more questions than it answers, and it just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. It’s also way too similar to Kylo Ren’s arc for my liking. I’m not sure how doable this would be, but I’d love to see this as I loved how she was a nobody in Last Jedi

I also like the idea of removing the opening fight scene between Kylo Ren and the villagers provided deleted scenes don’t flesh this out more.

I might also see if we can remove Ben bringing Rey back to life. That would remove their kiss which I do like, but I don’t like the idea of bringing another character who we thought was dead back to life. The film does this way too often already. I’d just change it so Rey doesn’t die at the end, and the last we see of Ben is him getting flung off the cliff by Palpatine. As I’m typing this the idea is losing its appeal because it makes Ben’s arc feel incomplete. I don’t think I’ll do this, but I’ll leave it in in case anyone wants to try and go with this.

One other change I’d like to see is the removal of Rey’s healing abilities. I’m not sure how doable this would be, but I do have an idea of how to pull it off. Just have Rey not stab Kylo Ren with the saber. After Ben stops, I’d like to see if there’s a shot of him sitting down, and then we could immediately cut to Rey’s conversation on how she did want to take his hand.

A final change I’d like to see is the removal of the final scene on Tattooine as it’s really unnecessary and only serves to justify the lackluster and overly silly title. I’d have the film end on the fade to black after Rey, Finn, and Poe hug. This would also prompt a change to the title of the film. Maybe it could be called Rise of the Jedi instead.
