Will there be a final definitive despecialized edition at some point ?

Right now ESB v2.5 is in the works. After that, the next releases will be version 3.0 for all 3 films, in 1080p I believe.

I also think that Harmy will be using poita’s scans for Empire Strikes Back when he makes 3.0.

I’m beyond excited!!! 😃

I’m so done with you JMOB. Learn how to properly write. You are literally so hard to understand. Just please don’t return until you can contribute understandable posts that don’t slow down the great work Ady is doing.

And one last thing, don’t act like such a victim when we get frustrated. We have our reasons.

Star Wars Episode I: Cloak Of Deception (Released)

I’ve been playing with Jackpumpkinhead’s custom crawl generator for TFA, and figured it would be worthwhile to encode new crawls for the prequel trilogy. I am not going to put out another version just for this, and have no plans to do so aside from using an eventual source by Emanswfan. However, I can go ahead and generate new crawls and lay them in place so they’ll be ready to go if that day comes.

I’ve redrafted a crawl for COD, and I’d like to get your feedback. Be as picky as pedantic as you can be.

Episode I
CLOAK OF DECEPTION
It is a time of decay in the Republic. Against the backdrop of dissidence and corruption, a menace lurks in the shadows of the galaxy.

Attempting to capitalize on the government’s complacency, the nefarious TRADE FEDERATION has seized the peaceful planet of Naboo with a blockade of deadly warships.

With the newly crowned Queen desperate for help, the Supreme Chancellor has secretly dispatched two Jedi Knights, the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy, to end the conflict…

I really love the crawl! As with your 4.1 version of the crawl, I appreciate the focus being more on the lurking menace and less of the politics. I think this is an improvement over your last version mainly because of some richer vocabulary.

proud of yourself mention the bane of the star wars prequels. also are all of you proud of bullying other star wars fans god forbid they ask about a wampa being made for the empire strikes back because the update of the building of the wampa isn’t frequent. so they feel like they’re too much in dark on what’s going on with it sheesh.

jedimasterobiwan, we are ALL eager for updates, but we try to remain patient. Personally, I’ve been following this project for years, and I don’t recall ever asking for any updates at all–I’m grateful for them whenever they come. Most folks here conduct themselves in much the same way–perhaps you might consider doing the same?. If you’re as old as you say you are, I’m sure you understand that life can get pretty crazy sometimes. Ady is human like the rest of us and has other stuff going on. He’ll update us when he’s made enough progress to merit it.

And please don’t respond to this defensively or indignantly; I’m genuinely not trying to offend. You’re a fellow fan and you’re excited and I get that. But this pattern of your asking for updates and then accusing others of bullying you when they ask you be patient needs to stop.

You perfectly summed up my feelings on jedimasterobiwan.

Got my projector and surround sound set up. It looks and sounds fantastic. The screen is about 125 inches. I ordered a 150 inch but I underestimated how big that actually was and it was bigger than my wall. Even the 125 inches is massive. Looks crisp and clear too. Can’t wait to watch star wars on it. In the process of cobbling together my own personal semispecialized version to watch. (Using the sources of telecine7s epiv (which is the blu ray with rerotoscoped savers and blaster shots) and just splicing in color matched and upscaled footage of the latest specialized to match the surrounding footage to fix ask the mos eisley bs on the blu ray.)

I would just watch the despecialized version but I think on a screen this suss the difference between 720 and 1080p will be noticeable.

This sounds awesome!

Interstellar

This was very heavy material. My short takeaway is this:

-The Cinematography is gorgeous.
-The score is AWESOME!
-The special effects are very immersive.
-The acting is pretty strong.
-Interesting premise.
-chemistry between Murph and Cooper was outstanding.
-Brands “Love” speech was dumb
-the ending was a little uneven

Overall I think it was a really ambitious and thought provoking film. I think Arrival accomplished what Interstellar was going for even better though.

Pretty much agree with you on both Interstellar and Arrival. although a subsequent viewing or Arrival on bluray will be required for me to decide if Arrival nailed it better than Interstellar did.

I immensely respect Nolan’s ambition though. It’s refreshing to see his films because of his passion and ambition to make great work.

Arrival really got me quite choked up though. It’s execution was bulletproof and its effect was tear jerking. Interstellar does this for me also, just with messier execution and not nearly as effective.

Or, if you stick with my Ep3, you’ll have it match Leia’s account of her mother in the very next film watched.

If it makes you feel any better Hal, I was just being very simplistic with my suggestion since I like Padme dying. My actual way I watch episode 3 is a mashup. I use yours for pretty much the entire film until the last few minutes. I prefer the way you tell Anakin’s fall (political motivations first, then Padme is the last straw) and I prefer the Yoda/Palps duel Cut. Your edit is superior in every way for me except for the fact that you let Padme live. It maintains continuity but I prefer the original irony of her dying and am willing to sacrifice a little continuity. Nevertheless, I hope I’v made it clear that I adore your edits and consider them to be the best edits of the prequel trilogy around.

I agree, I have purchased the trilogy on every damn format, multiple times.

I think if you are going to watch it in hi-def, then at the very least go buy the Blu-ray.
You also then have a case to keep your disc in 😉

And a case to replace the cover with 😉

At that point, is it still the same axe, though? Wait, what are we talking about?

I must admit that I worded my response quite awkwardly 😃 LOL

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in order to obtain the preservation effort ‘Despecialized’ versions, you have to own the official releases. Otherwise the entire project could be jeopardized. Grab the official Blu rays and then I am sure an invite will not be a problem. Cheers.

Hi, I have been a fan of the Star Wars films ever since I saw Star Wars in the theater in 1977. I have copies in VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray. I have the 2011 and 2015 versions, including the steelbook versions.

I have downloaded the MKV versions of Harmy’s and Towne32’s Despeciallized versions already, but would love to have njvc’s versions on blu-ray as well. The work that Harmy, njvc, Dark Jedi, towne32, hairy hen and others has been spectacular.

An invite to spleen would be most appreciated. I’ll still around to seed the good works on spleen. Thank you, all.

Now this is an example of a fan who deserves to have an invite. PM’d.

Rogue One * Spoilers * Thread
Time

Hmmmm. I prefer a previous take of two lines from the trailers.

“The world is coming undone.”

The one from the first Offical trailer (after the teaser), is better IMO than the one in the IMAX tv spot.

“The power we are dealing with here is immeasurable”.

I prefer the original take over the “awesome” version.

Still really excited but am hoping that they don’t use the takes shown in the IMAX teaser.
