Vimeo has proven to be fantastic when it comes to fanedits. I watched Frinks TPM on viemo and all of the OT filumentaires (star wars begins, building empire, returning to Jedi)
Man, everything your thinking of doing with Dooku is pure genius. I really love “the Jedi have become what they swore to destroy” angle on the prequels. When conforming to this angle of editing the prequels I find it proves to come out with the best results. I can’t believe how hyped this edit is getting me. Do you know what modes of uploading it you will use (fanedit.info, torrents, rapidshare, mega ??)
-Transition from “plot to destroy the Jedi” to Anakin granted seat on the council scene is quite bad. It halts musically and then the audio suddenly kicks back in.
-The musical transitions during Yodas confrontation with Sidious stand out like a sore thumb.
-And more of a scene reordering critique is something I found with the edit. Anakin practically has 2 motivations to join the dark side… Those being his distrust in the Jedi Council and their code and saving padme. Now I don’t know if you agree here but I feel as if throughout the Clone Wars series (2008) and the intense focus on the Jedi Code (no attachments) in the prequel films themselves it promotes those things being Anakins core beef with the Jedi. Padme in risk of dying was just the very last straw when Anakin was emotionally vulnerable to Palpatines manipulation. Palpatines channels Anakins frustration as fuel to his ever present gripe with the Jedis teachings. The reason I explain all of that is because in Hal’s edits he masterfully, seamlessly orders Anakins political/Jedi issues first and then he geniusly pairs Anakins nightmare with the Opera scene directly following. This grand scheme displayed in Hal’s edit is beautifully done to bring out the hidden glory of Revenge of the Sith. Contrary to this as I’m watching L8wtrs DOTE it constantly is switching between Anakin having a nightmare, then political talk with obi wan, then back to the padme at risk storyline with the opera scene etc. on and on this goes with scenes that all feel very disconnected.
That is my pretty thorough consensus of what prevents me from liking L8wtrs edit more than I already do.
Have you heard when V2 is coming out because I think cleaning up some sloppy cuts will really improve it.
Hmm Interesting. I’m currently doing a rewatch of Dawn of Empire to see if my opinion might change.
I have actually grown to appreciate Dookus character more than Maul by a long shot. Dooku is somewhat of foreshadowing to the possible issues Anakin takes up with the order. I find rotoscoping his saber green or purple and removing the Darth Tyranus title would seal the deal for Dookus character really put to perfection as a intellectual rebellious Jedi who has noble goals with dark logistics of doing so. Figuring out a way to put Dooku in the funeral sounds very difficult but if executed correctly, I believe that would be absolutely fantastic. You have some great ideas for his edit!
Interesting. I do agree that Hal’s editing is a more seamless experience. Have you read up on the shroud of the dark side radical TPM edit in the works. It looks amazing. And why do you like the sidious scenes in TPM. When his scenes are cut I feel like it makes Mauls appearance on Tatooine such a cool surprise and your left with such a better mystery at the end when Yoda comments on the Rule of Two
@possesed . I am curious about your mashup between L8wtr and Hal for episode 3. From the point where the Invisible hand lands until order 66 what edit do you use. Just curious as to which edit you prefer for that section of the film.
Has anyone done a Episode 3 edit specifically geared towards reordering scenes to match up with the Matthew Stover Novelization. I thought it might be a cool experimental edit that could be great

Yes that’s the scene. And about the balcony scene, it’s awkward and feels forced happiness. In Hal’s edit he has in my opinion very unique structure where he sets up anakins problems with the Jedi and their code first. Then he lets you know about Anakins trouble with his visions of Padme. And L8wtr keeping the Anakin/yoda Jedi temple scene and Anakin telling padme about his nightmare is something I dislike in his edit. When Anakin keeps these issues to himself it allows for a much more subtle and tragic fall. Don’t get me wrong though, I still find this edit very well done and I am keenly waiting for his V2. Just curious of what people like best in their episode 3 edits.
This definetly has taken my interest for possibly taking the throne of my definitive TPM edit once your finished. Might I ask, if you will retain any of Sidious’s hologram scenes. When cut out, I feel it raises the mystery of Darth Maul and makes Yodas final thought at Qui-gons funeral even more thought provoking. Thanks for your efforts!!
I find the CGI quality of the water just doesn’t hold up at all
I personally actually like the blu-Ray untouched anakinvsobiwan/yodavspalp fight. In my own personal mashup edit (using Hal9000s,L8wtr and Q2) I use the theatrical battle. The only edit Iv watched with The yoda/sidious fight is L8wtr who cuts it fine except in the lead up to yoda and sidious drawing light sabers the cuts are a bit sloppy and you can tell it’s a fan edit. Your idea here sounds very interesting though
I am more curious about why people absolutely adore L8wtrs episode 3 edit though as their favorite. I appreciate his work and find it to be a very exceptional edit (best quality deleted scenes Iv ever seen) but there are a lot of sloppy cuts and he keeps the balcony scene and the apartment scene. Just curious
For The Phantom Menace I stick with a self-edited mash up of Hal’s and Q2’s. I think Hal has some good elements but overall left too much Jarjar for my liking. For Episode 2, Hal’s work on the romance impressed me a lot and I stick to his edit there. Then when it comes to episode 3 I feel like all the way up until Padme starts giving birth Hal accomplishes a masterpiece with labyrinth of evil. He sets up such a subtle and tragic fall of anakin. But I have to admit I prefer the irony of padme dying so I use L8wtrs ending with the rest of Hal’s edit for my personal edit. I do appreciate all the hard work the fan editors put in and am currently enjoying Frinks TPM

Just so many fanedits I want in DLC form so it would be great to figure out this problem
I open it with a online dlc decrypter which works fine so that’s not the problem. I get to mega share, download the rar/7zip files one at a time (I string them together in Vegas pro) and 7zip every time fails to extract the files. I’ve just resorted to torrents for edits like Hals and Q2s ever since that problem and can’t solve it. I wonder if the problem is 7zip and if I should try out WinRAr.
