Who'd like to try a chess variant? Now playing Xiang Qi, a.k.a. Chinese chess
Time

I agree, let's start with the Wookiee rules.

I just realized we have no notation

With the way the board is oriented (though slightly rotated from the rules I sent you), I think we can easily name the cells like a clock, with 12 at the top, 6 at the bottom, etc.  The outer ring can be A, the inner ring can be B, and the central cell can be called C.  Make sense?  Let's see how this goes.

Actually, I'm seeing a couple of errors that might make a difference.  Let me look it over a bit tonight and I'll let you know.

Well, I'm glad to hear that.  I guess you won't have access to the same computers, and would not be able to continue a game.  The way you were talking, I thought you wouldn't be able to play anymore for a long time.  I would be sad for sure.

I don't know how long it would take, but I have finally been able to translate the rules of Dejarik into English.  Actually Bewy gets most of the credit, but the English was a little rough and needed some smoothing out, which I did.  But he had the hard job and deserves the bulk of the credit.  Anyway, it's supposed to be short.  It's kind of a chess game (well, that's a stretch, but nevertheless...), and I thought it'd be nice to test it out with someone.  Rounds are supposedly pretty quick, so we might be able to get through a couple before you go.  Want me to send you the translation and we can give it a go?  Perhaps we can improve the advanced rules, which the author recently admitted to me he was simply throwing out there without really testing, and can perhaps make some improvements.

Suggestion (Read: darth_ender will not do this): Make 2003 Clone Wars into two episodes that match the 2008 series
Time

I am a moderate fan of TCW 2008.  I am sure I'd like it better if I ever found the time to sit through the whole thing.  It is a shame they ended it before it got to a good wrap up point where it tied into ROTS.  Now while CW 2003 was far shorter, it did better at this sort of thing.  It also did a lot of things I hate.  Yes, I know there are many here who would consider that heresy, but I truly find the newer series far better.

My gripes for the earlier series include (but are not limited to) the stupid overuse of dramatic poses, landings, pauses, supposedly for tension and drama, but ultimately really corny and cliched; the voice actor for Anakin being worse than Hayden Christiansen; overly powerful Force users doing Super Saiyen-type moves in the air, punching droids to smithereens, Force pushing ranks of droids; constant back and forth between sides, where one side seems to have the upper hand, then the other pulls out some new, unforeseen superweapon or megadroid which is defeated in 3.2 minutes and serves no other purpose.

So why, if I dislike so much about the show, do I bring a fan edit up?  Well, there are a few things of substantial importance: a proper introduction to Ventress, who lasts throughout the 2008 series, a proper introduction to General Grievous, and the kidnapping of Chancellor Palpatine just before Ep. III.  If one could include these introductions, remove most of the cheesy crap and unnecessary stories, and turn these ideas into two or three 22 minute episodes, they could better match the 2008 series and serve as better intros to those characters and an ending to the whole series.
