If I were to get this Laser disc how whats the process to burn to DVD?
tho i have yet to gain a player, i do my captures using a sony professional DVD recorder, with what i need hooked directly to it, and usualy just save to its hard drive

Ive never seen BFE or COC, it was just a wild gues, tbh it looks very well intergrated, im wonderinf if they shot near the same redwoods area they did for ROTJ, and iirc COC reuses jabbas palace’s set, and has it redecorated
Project update: so far nothing major n terms of editing has happened, but 2 new sources are now in my possession, a 1987 Rank home video Tape (PAL) And the Netherlands LD release, im amazed i scored the LD at all, only 50$, newly listed on the LDDB, ill most likely use a combination of LD and Tape audio, i can confirm my LD is safe of any disc rot, as its been amazingly preserved, only issue is the i believe dutch subtitles, ill be using the LD as a source for mostly the opening, for the text elements, and combine them with the clean opening from my megazone LD’s, as well as using its ending, tho the opening will require some newly animated segments, as i believe harmony gold sent the animation back to the studio to be retouched, as the shot of earth was flipped (non flipped in the storyboards, but probably changed for artistic reasons) as well as a new heat shimmer effect (originally done optically) to bridge the newly corrected shot into the original footage, as well as one shot being utterly replaced by a new digital correction. i may need help with that since i am not an animator. i can provide high resolution images for the corrections needed if anyone wants to help out.
That’s all for now, once the LD arrives, and i get my hands on my deck, ill put up some scans of it, as no one has made scans or taken photographs of the tapes and LD’s since the early 2000’s

Since it is a heavily edited version, aswell as a work print, yeah its pretty much useless, ill probably only use the opening titles for the restoration of the theatrical trailer

I had already started working on the Cantina Ponda Baba Decapitation and alternate content.
In this Version we have a close up on Dr Evanzan as he approaches Luke before tapping him on the shoulder you can hear his shuffle in the sound mix so it’s actually a legit take.The whole Lightsaber fight has been tightened removing extraneous material so everything happens in real time and there is nothing happening twice.
Ponda Baba Decapitated off screen with sound effects, his head replaces the Wolfman arm and gun as his hands are different but his head sure is not apart from it’s come off his shoulders.
Greedo Takes an interest in Han Solo Bargaining with Luke and Obi-wan again I think this scene was moved so again legit and better.
Luke and Ben Leave earlier I think it makes more sense.
Han Get’s held up by Greedo all in the same scene unbroken quick cut away to cantina weirdo.
There is no doubt about Han shooting first

i wouldn’t count this as a scene, but audio, i know their is one doccu that features alternate lines for the opening of ROTJ, c3p0’s line is usual, you’d probably short circuit, but ive heard a clip where its clearly unfinished (no vocal processing applied) where the line is “you’d probably disintegrate” witch i belie is suppose to be foreshadowing their capture and servitude to Jabba and his torture droids

i wouldent recomend using audio from the radio drama, ive attemppted to edit the tosche station scene arrorund it and it just dosent fit well, maby a few of luke’s gruts and observations during the battle ahead but, attempting to replace any dialoque would be rough, if you where to use the 97 jabba scene, id say cut out “your a wonderful human being” specifically human, and morph the cuts together.
Hey, im looking for information on the LP of ROTJ, as ive heard it was released or being made before some dialoque had been finalized, and that many unused takes exist on it, any one happen to have a copy of it they wouldent mind DMing me? im interested in checking it out and seeing what i can salvage from it, aswell as wonderinf if it contains any snippets of Lapti nek or jabbas sailbarge music, i know their was one done for a new hope with an added voice over, and i know its been used as a source for the restoration fo the mono mix, but ive seen nothing on youtube abotu retun of the jedi

That’s a nice idea. If I might make a suggestion, maybe end it with Luke burning Vader and have the ghosts appear then.
my other idea was them apearing at the back of the tiderium as luke escapes, and having an echo’d voice over of sebastian shaw “now go my son” as the death star explodes, cutting to reaction shots of leia and han on endor, reusing shots of shutttle tiderium landing near the sheild generator, but matteing out the generator array, cutting out Yubyub, and just having vader’s ceremony theme play out the scene and over the credits
So their was a copy of the southern cross perfect collection on amazon for 400 aud, but it and all other’s prices have skyrocketed to 600 aud
Realy interested in getting my hands on this, especialy for lapti nek, tho the fact you advertise an instrumental version of the film ver i highly doubt, because the Dub mix features elements not in the original mix, preferably flac, please PM me

Is there a more complete scene out there? This is almost exactly whats in the shooting script. And there isn’t any reason to wipe from the guy walking past to the proper scene beacuse after he walks past there is still a lot more scene after this.

the scene is longer in the original script, he’s probably recalling it from Deleted magic, also with the bigggs mourn, its fantastic that mark returned for the radio drama, just gives fan editors like you and me so much more content to work with

Perhaps go the radio drama way, where he wasent jabba, but i belive a mercinary/bounty hunter sent by jabba,
I will check into it, I plan on using audio from the radio dram a fir the treadwell scene already.

Updated version of the Biggs reunion with the audio sync fixed and the 2nd guy to walk past is now changed to an X-Wing pilot. I think he might stand out too much, but let me know what you think.

better than i expected it to come out, funny that it was never done officialy, considering how many times they cut to yavin for inserted dialoque, nice try with the pass of the pilot, only sujestion id make is to slightly move his arms, tho doing that may make it look like an obvious digital puppet, id sujest adding faint footsteps as he passes by
an update, i have scraped my original version, and now have streamlined it, ive used the opening shots from the SE (witch is unused footage, and sy’s puppet is visible) with fancy man from the radio drama to bridge into lapti nek, with her yell from star wars to jedi, in between to disguise the cut, Oola’s dace has been restructured to how it was originally shot (thanks to someone on YouTube for that idea) Ive attempted what id say is a “Seamless” cut between the old and new footage, as oola falls, it cunts to the SE footage, as well as the audio fading to her scream, removed the crowds reaction shot and instead used its audio and used it as background audio for oola’s shots, cuts to jabba’s throne moving over the trap door, witch then cuts to oola, with a new sound effect of his throne sliding into place, Oola no longer reacts to the sound of the rancour door, but instead to its roar, witch is taken from the radio drama, with C3po’s reaction shot moved from luke’s encounter to Oolas As i believe that’s how the scene was planed (going off the fact most of the dramas where based off of the original scripts, except ROTJ witch made the film more from 3p0’s perspective, C3p0 now has dialogue as he turns away in disgust, various alien and creature sounds are used to bridge cuts, all from radio dramas and various audio book sources.
one edit it love to see is to remove the obvious onset audio “only a master of evil darth” cs you can hear the spinning blade of the saber

Some more work on my attempted transcription of the huttese lyrics, im able to hear them alot easier now, managed to deconstruct the samples, remove most of the synth and drums, exposing the vocal track

im willing to asist on the audio side, as i (over the course of 4 months) refoleyed the scene, i cna upload my work and show you if needed, also instead of the far shot of the landspeeder aproaching toche station, id sujest the idea of a GC version, instead aproaching from the left, slowly stopping, then cutting to luke getting out
It is sourced from essentially a mono track. I don’t understand what damage you mean.
