No PT robes whatsoever. It makes no sense for Jedi to dress like Tatooinian moisture farmers.

He uses the dark side to prolong his life. The deformities are a result of this dark side use. The Making of books for ESB and ROTJ make it clear that this was the intent in 1980 and 1983.

This.
What Luke goes through on Yavin in The Star Wars Story Synopsis from 1973 is very similar to what Exar Kun goes through on the same planet in Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith.

Ponders pointing out that we get the point.
In response to the recent rumors: Luke turning to the dark side is the worst thing that could possibly happen. It would ruin everything that's happened so far.

If all those rumors are true, it looks like instead of a glorious restoration of the Republic in the galaxy, the general treatment follows something of the history of western civilization, this trilogy being the Middle Ages of the star wars universe.
A disorganized "federative" (feudal) system where the [Western roman empire] Empire was beaten by the rebels, and a fully alive Empire in the remnant rim [Eastern roman empire]. All glimpse of old "pagan" religions, both Sith and Jedi, banned and replaced by something new; technological stasis in the upper social spheres, while involution in the lower ones, the everlasting issue of the limit between the Empire and this "federation"...etc. Crusades? Qu Ran rising?
Just a thought tho; I'm not sure if that's a treatment i would be interested to watch, but why else would the characters be amazed at a lightsaber, Luke a fugitive, the Empire fully alive and well (chrome troopers are quite a luxury).
On the Republic: I don't want to see one in VII. We saw a Republic in the prequels, and we all know how that turned out.
On Jedi and Sith being "pagan" religions: Star Wars (1977) made them seem like something from biblical times. I'd love to see a galaxy that's moved past them. (Interestingly, early screenplays described the Sith as a group of bounty hunters hired by The Emperor, not an ancient conspiracy that The Emperor is part of).
Pessimistic philosophy (such as "there will always be evil"). Star Wars is supposed to cheer us up, not depress us.

I'd love to see that on Robot Chicken.

Every publicly released version of every film should be made available. Simples.
And, yet, it's so hard to do for some reason.
It's not hard. There was just an unwilling owner for 35 years.
Kurtz once said that Palpatine wasn't supposed to appear until IX, but then GL condensed V-IX into V-VI. I would have loved a longer arc from ANH to Palpatine's death.
All the character power level pettiness. There's constant arguing and even exagerrated statements within the EU about who the most powerful character of all time is.

As for the Sith Corsair, can you link to an episode if you're referring to the CGI Clone Wars that is.

Here it is.

yup

Cause Revan and Malak took over a good chunk of the Galaxy while the Sith Brotherhood had a small amount, not to mention Malak bombed and left so many planets dead. I don't recall Kun and Ulic doing that.
Have you heard of the Dark Reaper? Did you see the map in The Essential Atlas?
The Clone Wars story reels have some interesting impications about the Corsair.
spoiler alert
Are Kyber Crystals the source of the Death Star's power?

They could remove the celebrations from future special editions.

What I don't understand is that if episode 7 is based on Lucas' synopsis, that the empire and alliance are in a cold war with both sides having equal power, why didn't he allow this idea to be used in the EU back in 1987 when he let Zahn do Heir to the Empire?
Was Lucas' original intention to have a New Republic with the Empire defeated (as in Zahn's trilogy) and now after all these years he decided to change that for episode 7? Or did he never approve of the EU and just let it go on since he knew he would erase it with whatever sequel trilogy he ended up doing?
Earth-616 and the Marvel Cinematic Universe don't always do the same thing. The EU and episodes 7-9 are the same situation.
The EU has been dead to me for a long time. I won't miss it one bit.
ray_afraid said: the galaxy at large believes they never existed.
Han and Motti claim that The Force never existed, but never do they claim that the Jedi never existed.
Most people today don't believe in Zeus, but they don't deny that the Greeks existed.

Seconded.
How about an evil Whill?

I think that a decision to rub out the existence of Mara Jade, Jacen, Jaina, Anakin Solo and Ben Skywalker would be a giant middle-finger to the Star Wars fan community.
Making a movie that is based on stories millions and millions and millions of people have never read could be seen as a 'giant middle-finger' to the lovers of Star Wars moives.
OR we could just say it's a creative choice to try and make the best movie, and accept that nothing will please everyone.

Or to give us the first suspensful SW movie since 1983. If they followed alot of the EU, then many fans would know the story (I believe Mara tried to kill Luke in the Thrawn Books?).
The great thing about the ST is we know NOTHING, other then some rumors that we can take with a grain of salt. We all knew where the PT was going to end, so we just speculated on how it would happen? Now we are speculating on who, how, where, why, etc... I love the fact that I have no idea what is going to happen in Episode 7 other then the fact that Luke, Leia, Han, Chewy, and R2 & C3PO are back.

I can't stand how they'll if you say anything bad about the prequel Jedi on TFN, they'll compare you to a nazi or to a sith. By demonizing anyone who disagrees with someone, aren't they the ones acting like nazis?

What I think would be a giant middle finger would be shoving the EU down the throats of people who don't care about "canon". Initially, I wanted the EU to continue as a separate universe from episodes 7-9 but the constant complaining from EU fans made me feel like they deserve a middle finger.
